Job was completed in just two days in Sept 2017. In Feb 2018 ice damming built up on a low area of the roof that faced north, no sun hits that spot from about Dec to early March. I called JZ and they came out within 24 hours and got the ice off the roof. No charge. I offered them some cash for climbing up on our roof on a bitterly cold day and they politely declined and told us they'd be back by the end of Oct to put down some more ice protection. Last Saturday Oct 20, that exact thing happened. No charge again! Jack and Peter are professional, honest and skilled craftsmen. Their able crew of laborers are efficient and courteous. JZ's prices are more than reasonable and they provide unparalleled customer service. I strongly recommend them.

JZ Roofing did an excellent job start to finish. They were very punctual arriving at the time that they stated. Everything went smoothly as they completed the full teardown and replacement of my house roof and garage roof in two days. They were very professional and had great communication in addressing any questions and concerns I had. They also were very thorough in cleaning up all nails and debris from the worksite at the end of each day. Look no further when you need to choose a great roofing company!!!

J Z responded quickly and performed needed services plus some extra work to ensure a quality job. I had written the check for the quoted amount. When asked how I heard about J Z, I mentioned Angie’s List. He reminded me that I got a 10% discount. How honest! I plan to hire them next year for some additional work I want done.

I manage some very old buildings. One of them is in need of a roof replacement soon, but we needed some options before we budget to do so. Peter from JZ was great in fixing things that needed immediate attention, while giving us much needed advise for the future. Whenever we have issues we call on him and he is very eager to help. Prices are very good and attention to detail is even better. I have been on Angies list since 2012 and do not go out of my way to write many reviews (I think this may be my first). But I know how difficult it is in finding a trustworthy vendor so I thought I would at least make the decision a little easier for anyone doing the same search I was.

This is a follow up to my initial review of JZ Roofing. This contractor was hired and overpaid by a deceased Angie's List member. I am the deceased executor and beneficiary. I am also a member of Angie's List. JZ Roofing has refused to pay me the refund. In retaliation for my writing a negative review I was threatened with legal action and the overpayment was issued to a debtor without authorization. That debtor right to payment is in dispute. JZ Roofing is unorthodox and engages in very shady business practices. ALL POTENTIAL CUSTOMERS OF THIS contractor BEWARE!

Peter and his team is very professional and helpful. Highly recommended.

The service went well. Peter came out and inspected both inside the house and up on the roof. He found there were several problems with how the roof was originally built, including areas with no flashing, where shingles were instead bent or curled to try to prevent water leaks. He took several photos to show me how those bent shingles are now cracking in the middle, which is letting water in. He repaired the roof so it would last through the winter and made recommendations for what to do next spring. Overall, he was clean (he brought booties to wear over his shoes in the house), thorough in his inspection of the roof, and patient with explaining the issues to me.

They were on time. Took time to explain everything and answer my many questions. They completed the project on time and quicker than I thought. They also took great care to clean up and make sure my neighbors yards were also clean as well. Only thing is that I have not received roofing warranty. However I trust that should I have issue they will take care of it.

After researching many roofers on Angie's list, I narrowed down my search to 3 companies based on the reviews. I solicited quotes from those 3 and chose JZ Roofing as the price was very reasonable (yet not the cheapest), but more importantly, the estimator (Jack) really took his time explaining all of my possible options. I had a lot of questions and he was very patient with me. He seemed to really know what he was talking about and was very upfront and honest. I built a very quick trust with him and the company even before I had my official estimate. Once I decided to go with them, it did take a bit of time to get the work finally scheduled, but once they started, it went very well. The owner (Peter) was there with his crew and was actually doing some of the hard labor himself. He took the time to give me several updates and kept me in the loop on what was going to happen when. It was a big job that spanned 3 days, but he told me that upfront and I felt like they certainly met the predicted timeline. Peter and his whole crew were courteous, professional, and really busted their butts to make sure I was happy with the work. They went over and above my expectations! There were also a few extra things that they did that they could have charged me extra for, but did not. I appreciated the honesty and I really felt that they were not trying to nickel and dime me for any extras. Although I do not expect any issues with the work, Peter and Jack told me to call them anytime if I noticed any problems. When the work was done, Jack did an in-person follow up and walk through with me before asking to settle the final bill. I certainly felt that they wanted to make sure one more time that I was satisfied before asking for the payment, which I thought was classy. I have received numerous compliments from family, friends, and neighbors on how good everything looks. I would highly recommend JZ Roofing as the quality of work was great, the price was very fair, and the attention to the customer was more than I expected.

Peter, the owner, was courteous, professional, and helpful. Our appointment was at 8:00AM and by that time, he and his partner were already working. The work was timely, well-done, and the clean-up was flawless. Thanks again to Peter for his professionalism and responsiveness!

I called for an estimate. It took them 3 days to get back to us because they were very busy. However when they did, they gave us a fabulous price for the work. After we reviewed the contract and picked out the colors, they gave us a rough estimate of when they can do the work. Even with the wacky weather we were having, they were pretty close to right on time. Jack and his crew were great! They did the entire project in one day and cleaned everything up. Highly recommended!!!

Working with JZ Roofing was great, they exceeded my expectations, they were very responsive and professional. Their pricing was not the lowest of my bids, but i was most impressed with this company due to their communication and friendliness. I worked with Peter on the quote and scheduling, those that came to do the job were also very friendly and arrived when they said they would arrive. I would definitely recommend this company and would hire them again for my roofing and gutter needs!!

Basically half a days worth of work. They were helpful in replacing rotted wood around the roof when I spotted the problem. Did a good job working around the chimney (our garage is 100 years old).

They were punctual, responsive, courteous, professional and literally 1/3 of the price of the competition. Would absolutely use again.

Another "roofer" came out 5-7 times and did everything but fix the problem. I worked with Jack at JZ Roofing and had several in-depth discussions with him. He took all the time we needed to talk. He inspected the situation and discovered that the sky light was leaking from the frame and not around the frame where the other "roofer" was trying to resolve the issue. Jack and his crew inspected the job very carefully and then Jack went back to confer with his partner Peter on the best way to address the issue. The resolution was very well thought out. Jack and his team showed up when they said they would, and boom, leak is solved. I cannot tell you how happy I am with this organization. Jack was a very kind and helpful man. Forget all other roofers, go with these guys !

When I asked them if they could come before the predicted rains, they showed up, and did the job in an hour.. I wanted to have it repaired before replacing the window and even though the job was small, they did it at the reasonable price they had initially quoted to me. Also fixed some additional things they saw when they were up there for no additional charge.

Perfect: Peter Kus, the owner, came out first to measure then to replace the downspout. As always he arrived with all needed tools and materials, and fixed it in under an hour--and even though it was my mistake to forget to include this work in the original proposal, he wouldn't take any money from me! He said we'd just consider the new work and materials part of the roofing replacement they had done. I'm very grateful for the quality of work done, as well as the generosity shown to me.

Excellent. Mr Kus answered every call promptly during the 2 months we waited for skylight to be available. The men cleaned up amazingly well. Even in the neighbors' yards, despite the dog They are coming back next year for patio r/r.

We had a choice between three angieslist quotes but JZ was the only one who could do both masonry and roofing. That saved a lot of extra work and time. Their work was efficient, professional and they cleaned up after themselves. I rate them an A

We have worked with Peter before. He is a very honest person, hard to find nowadays. His tuck pointer, Tony set up scaffolding, and replaced up to 40 bricks from the top of a chimney on a two story building. Ground out and tuck pointed from the roof level down to the sidewalk. Replaced damaged bricks from the sidewalk 4 feet up the total length of the building, 36' long. Removed defective cove line around the building, and replaced it with high quality Vulken 116 caulk. Repaired broken concrete cap on chimney. Replaced 2 ice damaged 6 inch upper galvanized downspouts. We truly appreciate the work Tony and Peter did. We surely would hire them again.

It did take a little bit of work to connect to JZ roofing, receive a quote and get the job scheduled but once Peter found out we were unhappy he made sure to communicate with his personally and make sure we got the responses we needed. We do understand it's hard to fit smaller projects in during the busy summer and fall months. All-in-all we are happy with JZ Roofing and felt they went above and beyond on the repairs and addition of gutters. The quote was fair too.

Water was coming in to my building. So I called J Z Roofing Company. They came the very next morning, to repair the roof. The owner was the first one up the ladder, followed by his workers. The owner repaired the roof with his workers, where my roof was leaking. I am grateful they came that day, because the next day it rained very hard with no water coming in. I highly recommend J Z Roofing Company. J Z Roofing Company is the best!

We weren't home, but they called and said they could stop by the house and could take a look on the roof. He called us back and said that he thought leak was actually from the second story window and not the roof. He caulked the window for free and told us to wait and see what happens after the next rain. It rained all day and no leak!
