In October 2018 I hired Kaci Woodworks to create a desk for me. This was my third project with Kaci Woodworks in the last 3 years. The first was a replacement of a bathroom vanity and bathroom closet door in 2015 which came out beautifully and the second project was a total remodel of my kitchen cabinets in late 2016 and also a great success. I was aware that Hakim Kaci was also a skilled furniture maker, so I asked him to help create a desk as the next project. The idea percolated for a long time as I tried to come up with a design. I had specific requirements; the desk had to be 48 inches wide, constructed of multiple woods and reference but not mimic the Japanese furniture and artwork in my condo. Working with Hakim we came up with a design that met my requirements and, as usual, was executed flawlessly. We chose cherry for the desktop and drawer facing, maple for the drawer interiors and black walnut for the supports. The Japanese influence comes from inset iron drawer hardware that alludes to the hardware on my tansu chests and makes the four drawers I required look like two. As you may guess, I can enthusiastically recommend Hakim Kaci and Kaci Woodworks for cabinets and for custom furniture.

Kaci was awesome to work with. While I decided to not go ahead with the kitchen project he still took the time to fix one of my slatted closet doors as a favor. His workshop in Seattle is amazing and you are getting really wonderful hand-crafted work if you go with him. While most door stores told me it would be $800 bucks he did it for $100. I have moved into my new house and he is first on my list to help me with my cabinet remodel

We needed more storage in master bedroom and bath. Hakim provided us with a bid that was about 20% less than another high end cabinet company and a actual date when it would be done (something the other company was not able to provide despite several promises to come out and do final measuring). The project was complicated by the fact that both the floor and ceiling of this old house was not square. As a result the install effort was very complicated and time consuming. However, the end result looks great and we are pleased with the work. It is every bit as good as the kitchen cabinets built by the "high end" company

The project was complex because I wanted to keep the handmade Japanese backsplash and because the 30 year old cabinet style needed streamlining and because the configuration is full of strange angles. Hakim Kaci determined that the original cabinet boxes were strong enough to keep, so the task was to do a complete refacing of doors, drawers, end panels, hidden surfaces visible only when the doors and drawers are open, and the odd angle joining. It was nothing short of a jigsaw puzzle with over 50 individual pieces to create one seamless surface. I decided on solid cherry and the result is amazing. The attention to detail was meticulous and the project was completed on time and within budget.

Hakim Kaci was a complete professional: responsive, knowledgable, courteous and thorough. He and Scot Debruler not only refinished the surfaces as I had requested, but took additional steps to improve the quality of the pieces, like adjusting the drawer face sizes and alignment for a more perfect and uniform fit. They stood behind their work and always put forth the extra effort required to make sure what they delivered was perfect and to my satisfaction. Nice guy with lots of integrity: I highly recommend Kaci Woodworks for any new or refinish woodworking projects.

Hakim came all the way from Ballard to Fairwood just to do this for me. I was so grateful. He did a great job. He was right on time and very professional. The price was reasonable, but he gave me a deal, and I do not want to list it here as a price to expect. He told me they do this sometimes to help people out, even though it is a long way to go for a very small job. I plan to hire him again, but next time will get more work together so it is worth his while for the trip.

After some research I contacted Kaci Woodworks. The owner of the company, Hakim Kaci, made an appointment to come to my condo to discuss my plan and to show me his portfolio of previous custom projects that included not only kitchens and bathrooms but beautiful furniture as well. Hakim took my initial ideas and suggested design and finish options. We decided on solid cherry for both pieces. Once we agreed on the project Hakim provided a detailed estimate and schedule within 24 hours. The project was completed on schedule and the results are stunning. The workmanship and attention to detail were amazing the the completed project exceeded my expectations. I highly recommend Kaci Woodworks and am planning to have them work on my kitchen in the near future.

We are in the process of selling our home and were scheduled for another open house right before Christmas. Although the kitchen is attractive, it is old and the cabinets need replacing or resurfacing, several realtors had advised that we not do this work since we would not recover the cost in the sale. It is likely the new owners would want to remodel the kitchen to their own taste. However, several cabinets with pull out drawers and rotating shelves were not functioning properly and the doors of these and several hall closets showed unsightly and noticable gaps. We had difficulty finding any professional cabinet makers willing to do a repair job. We finally found Kaci Woodworks and Seattle Cabinet Repair. Hakim, the owner, got back to us within hours. He listened carefully to our needs and asked us to email photos. After determining that he would be able to meet our needs, we were able to find a time when he would be in Whatcom County for another larger job (since he doesn't usually travel this far for cabinet repairs). He arrived punctually at the agreed time, discussed the job with us and promptly set to work. He carefully removed items from the cabinets as needed and repaired the drawer slides, replacing parts he had with him. He brought all the necessary tools and was extremely courteous, professional and accommodating throughout the 5 hours it took for him to do all the repairs. He replaced items in the cabinets with our guidance. We were completely satisfied with the results which left the kitchen's appearance markedly improved and provided us with smoothly functioning cabinets and closets with no gaps. For a modest price, we now have a kitchen that looks very presentable to prospective buyers and gives us cabinets we no longer need to struggle to use. We wish we had done it years ago!
My wife and I have had a surprisingly difficult time finding someone who could refurbish and repair one or our closet doors and some kitchen cabinets. It turns our the work was harder than we had anticipated and nobody seemed to be able to repair them properly, We had almost given up. Fortunately, Mr. Kaci of Kaci Woodworks was in Portland visiting family and was willing to help us out. Mr. Kaci identified the problems and came up with long term solutions. We are delighted with the results and are happy to recommend him most highly.
