Kaleb Paint Company went above and beyond to get the job done in a timely and efficient manner. Even with a hiccup of a paint mismatch on our part, they were able to accommodate a new color and get it all done for us. We love what they did and would absolutely hire again for any paint job we need!

They were amazing. Not only was the job done in a timely fashion but it was done right. It looks fantastic and my wife and I couldn't be happier. They were very friendly and very reasonably priced. Thank you Kaleb Paint Company for your time and care.

It looks so great. They worked hard and did exactly what they said they would. They had contracts to sign. It looks great and they talked to us every step of the way about what was going on. Very professional and kind.

Kaleb Paint Company was very professional and did a great job. We have 90 year old house that isn't the easiest to work on, they handled the job very easily and quickly. They are pretty talented with a paint brush and window glazing. Would absolutely use them again for our outdoor painting needs.

Let me say at the outset that everyone we encountered with Kaleb Paint (owner and day-laborers) was completely courteous and friendly on every occasion. This is a long account, but I’m posting this because even though every other review here gives this company an A, I suspect that my experience with this company is not unique to me, and I would have appreciated the perspective that I now have. Maybe you will too. This company is basically a guy working out of his house, and his wife manages the projects because she’s the only one who speaks English. I’m okay with all that in principle (my own dad supported his family almost exactly that way for 30 years), but I’d be willing to pay someone else a little more for increased reliability and work-quality. Nearly all the work that Kaleb Paint did reflected low skill-levels and a lack of attention to detail. Poorly-cut trim pieces badly installed, messily or incompletely caulked joints, bare wood in need of primer that I discovered on my walk-around, general sloppiness. If I can add pics here I will. There were some additional issues I’ll detail below that raise questions about the trustworthiness of this company. I’ve ultimately concluded that I don’t really believe those issues stem from malice or fraudulent intent; I think they arise from simple incompetence, and it’s that incompetence and slip-shod work ethic that would prevent me from hiring them again or recommending them to anyone. Note: this company did not present a contract laying out the scope of work to be performed, and because I am sometimes an idiot, I did not think to ask for one. I did not get burned this time, but next time I will insist on a contract, and I will pay particular attention to how that contract governs situations where materials are “stolen” from my property. More detail: Our house is about 35 years old, and we collected several estimates in late summer for a 2-phase project: repair, then painting. For multiple reasons, we didn't make a decision to proceed until October, at which point we decided to do only the repair portion and postpone painting until spring. Kaleb Paint was not our first choice at that time, but our first choice (slightly more expensive than Kaleb) never responded when I finally reached out, and we didn’t want to go through another winter without addressing the problems, so I went with Kaleb. Our current siding is Tudor-style and consists of smooth 4’x9’ panels dressed with long vertical 1x4” trim boards running the length of the panels. We needed 11 of those siding panels replaced, and most of the related trim, along with multiple window sills that were rotting out. This will be important later. We set a date for them to start in the week of Nov 9-13. Arlen (wife of Adonais, the main guy doing the work) called just before that to let me know that they were behind schedule on the current project and would need to start the week of Nov 23. This was no problem for us. That week came, and we wrote them a check for 30% of the project fee. Arlen said they’d be purchasing the siding and trim materials that day and beginning work on 11/25 (day before Thanksgiving). Again, no problem. They didn’t show on 11/25, but Arlen called me and said they hadn’t been able to purchase the siding we needed. They knew where to find it, but Thanksgiving Day was the next day, so they’d plan to purchase Friday morning 11/27 and begin work that day. They did not show up on Friday. They did show up mid-morning on Saturday 11/28 and began removing rotten trim and siding pieces on the west side of the house. I walked outside to say hi and see how things were going. I encountered several panels of siding leaning up against the house, but they didn’t match our current siding. These new siding panels were wood-grain textured and had five grooves running the length of each panel (look up LP SmartSide panels if you’re interested). Nothing wrong with that siding, but it didn’t match what we already had, so I asked what they were for. The day-laborer working in that area assured me that this was not the siding they would be putting on my house. This didn’t answer my question, but I accepted that, and he went back to tearing out stuff. Maybe an hour later, Arlen came to the door to tell me that they’d run into a problem: they had been completely unable to find any siding panels anywhere to match what we currently had. She explained that in the time since they’d first come out to provide the estimate and the time that I finally called them to start the work, the companies selling the siding we needed no longer offered that product, so there was no way to replace what we had with a comparable siding. The only answer, according to her, was to use this great new siding they found, which would be so much better for us. At this point, she took me over to show me the LP SmartSide panels I’d seen earlier. The only problem, she said, was that because this siding didn’t match anything else, we would need to re-side the whole house. Now, I understand that I took a long time to move on this project after collecting estimates, and that the situation could change in that intervening time. I don’t mind that they couldn’t find siding to match what we had. Here’s where I have the problem: they did not inform me that they couldn’t complete the project as initially proposed and estimated until after they’d already made substantial progress in tearing off of my house the siding they couldn’t match. The time to inform me of that should have been before beginning any work on my house. As it was, by the time I learned there was a problem, I couldn’t very well have them put back all the broken pieces they’d already taken off the house, so the only direction to move was forward. I considered shutting it all down right then, and looking for a replacement contractor, but I had literal holes in my house at that point and no guarantee that I’d be able to find anyone available on such short notice, so I didn’t do that. Almost all the siding repairs needed were on the 1st-floor level on the east and west sides of the house. I decided I could live with one kind of siding on the 2nd-floor level and another on the first and sort of justify it as a creative choice until I could afford to make it all the same again. We determined that we would purchase the additional siding panels to make all the 1st-floor level the same, and the several replacements needed at the 2nd-floor level could be made using the un-damaged panels from the 1st-floor that we were now replacing with the SmartSide stuff. We wrote them a second check to cover the additional siding materials now required. From that point, the work went fairly smoothly, aside from the text I got from Arlen late Monday morning telling me a) that five siding panels had been stolen (they’d left them leaned up against the side of the house, instead of behind the house in my fenced-in yard), and b) that she suspected my neighbor. I have serious doubts about all that, but maybe it’s true. I didn’t see all the siding they brought to my house, and I didn’t see what was there when she said some was stolen, so I can’t verify it either way. Ultimately, the final invoice I paid did not reflect any charges for siding panels to replace the ones that were “stolen,” so I don’t actually care. I do have reason to think they meant to charge me for those, but I believe their failure to do that was actually just another example of incompetence. I have a receipt that says my current Amount Due is $0, so I feel comfortable posting this review.

House looks amazing. Very professional and always kept us informed what the next steps were. Had us review their work and would fix anything we wanted- but we didn’t need anything fixed. Great painters and would definitely recommend them to anyone.

Due to rain they had to postpone a few times (not their fault) but once they were here, they did a great job. I have a two level wooden deck and it looks so much better now. I would highly recommend them. Very competitive pricing and they're hard workers. I have another deck I may hire them to paint as well. They're great people.

Fantastic. I have recommended Kaleb Paint to my Mother-in-law, and some of my neighbors were so impressed with the work they were doing at our house that they asked for a bid too. I would continue to recommend Kaleb Paint to all my friends and family. The did carpentry work, replaced a door, and got the painting done in a timely manner. We were very impressed. They are excellent!
