The owner and people in the store are very knowledgeable and helpful. Had great ideas and really helped to come up with some great combinations of flooring, tile, etc. However, the installation scheduling was difficult and we had to have the installers come back a few times to get things just right. On the negative side, getting responsiveness from the installers was a real hassel. On the positive side, they stood by their work and eventually got things done and it looks great. great quality. <br />

They were competitive with their price and they have a nice variety of choices and products. They have a good display where you can go and see them. They have been in business for years so they have the knowledge and that was important to us.

We chose Kalia because of the expert assistance at their showroom, where we were shown many options along with explanations of things to consider when laying carpet in a basement family room and guest bedroom. <br /> The floor refinishing subs did an excellent job restoring the hardwood to its original finish. The carpet installers also did an excellent job. Both groups had many years for experience in their trade and the quality of work shows. <br />

They had the best price out of about 7 providers. They did a very good job. Scott was extremely helpful and accommodating. I would highly recommend. <br /> The one thing that is weird is that they ask for $100 up front to do a bid, so you should do some of your due diligence up front before laying that down. <br />

Great provider for the do-it-yourselfer. <br /> Wholesale prices. Great products. Great advice. Very reasonable rates on the nail gun rental, I think I had the gun for about a month. Sometimes Scott is a little hard to get a hold of but he's very busy so that's understandable. <br /> I finished 2 rooms and a hallway, approx 400 square feet with an underlayment that reduces noise. The engineered hickory had a very nice distressed look, came in three different lengths and 3 different widths. It looks fabulous. <br />

Our experience with Kalia and it's owner, Scott, was horrible - it was the worst example of a lack of follow through, integrity and reliability that we have seen in the home renovation materials industry. Given the overall strong reviews we have seen from others on Angie's list, we were that much more surprised and disappointed. We are not sure the reason(s), but this is not how we expect owner-operated businesses (or any business) to conduct themselves. We are remodeling our home, and went to Kalia to purchase flooring - hardwood, carpet and tile. We got as far as the hardwood purchase, even though the price was significantly higher, we felt the product was high quality and went against our initial instincts on the poor service were receiving, given the reviews we had read. It deteriorated from there. After having to wait after two committed delivery times were missed (no call or message), we received the hardwood. We then were ready to move into purchasing carpet; however, the two samples we had looked at earlier had now nearly doubled in their cost per square yard from two weeks earlier. When we pointed this out to Scott, we were met with a vacant stare. That ended our further flooring business with Kalia. During the installation of the hardwood floors, we found that we needed to order more transitional pieces. As we had purchased the hardwood through Kalia, we had to go back to Scott. He could not have cared less about helping us, and the pieces he said would "be on next week's delivery" ended up taking 3-4 weeks - again, no call, no message and certainly, no apology. We were stunned (and still am) by the treatment we receive. It was disrespectful, deceptive and insulting. I don't know how Scott and Kalia stay in business.

I tried to call you, but received your message so hopefully you will read this on here. Dellivery: You and your husband were going to have your contractor pick up the wood. Something changed and you asked us to deliver it. You gave me your installers phone number and had me arrange delivery. He moved the delivery time on us. To meet his schedule I personally delivered material at 7am. Wood Price: I strive to provide the highest quality material at a very low price. You were able to get a 6' Maple Hand Scraped Hardwood floor for under $3 per square foot. As stated it is an amazing product, at a VERY LOW Price. Install: To be clear all installation was performed by your contractor. We performed no work on your home. He measured the home and told you what you needed to order. The reason you had to come back and order more moldings on 3 separate occasions was your installer never told you to order them. He also made mistakes installing. I showed you ways he could avoid these mistakes. Each of these "mistakes" on moldings had to be ordered in. As explained they take 7-10 business days to get here from the time they are ordered from the manufacturer. Waiting on moldings can be extremely frustrating. Your installer took well over a month to install your hardwood floor. You told me how frustrated you were with him, when I explained that your wood floor install should have only taken a couple of days. Carpet Pricing: I apologize for any confusion on carpet pricing. In the particular line of carpet you were looking at I do not have a carpet that is more than $4 per square foot installed with pad. I am sorry that when you asked how much the carpet was you were only quoted the carpet ($2.67) and not the pad and install additional ($0.55). I thought I explained this correctly. Scott Heath the owner came out to our home the next morning after visiting his show room to measure and give us a bid. He honored the Angie List special and $100.00 for the bid towards the work. <br /> WE ordered the wood and it was delivered within 5 days. We had the wood acclimate for 3 weeks. His team of 3 professional men came early & on time on the date promised. The work was done in 4 hours. They left our home once we inspected the work was done to our satisfaction, orderly and clean as if they had not been there. They cleaned up the saw dust and packaging and took all of it with them. We are extremely pleased with our beautiful floor. We hope to have Kalia Fooring do more home improvements in our home soon. We highly recommend this flooring company. The price was extremely good for the high quality of wood plus installation. They even tucked our carpet where it met the wood without charge. Scott, to my surprise gave us a wood floor cleaning kit without charge which I really appreciate! <br /> As a side note; we did all the preparation of removing the carpet, nail strips, and baseboards before the install. Kalia will do this for you for a small extra fee if you cannot do the prep before yourself . <br />

Not only was Scott helpful but the installers were great. They had finished a job early and asked if they would be able to start our job. The flooring looks amazing and the attention to detail by the supervisor was better than we could ask. He made sure all the planks matched up and there were no gaps. Very pleased. <br />

Slate tile in entry way was beautifully laid however they didn't remove the baseboards before they started. A different crew was used for the tile and wood. The coordination was not smooth. They did not install the baseboard we picked out but we decided to accept it instead of requiring them to change it. The transition from the tile to the wood was not well planned and required the addition of a wood piece that does not look as good as we expected. The contractor was hard to get hold of and called late the night before to inform us that the workers would be on site the next day. <br /> <br /> The wood floor install was very poorly done. The more we live with it the more we realize how bad it is. The botched transition from the tile to the wood is an eyesore and is very upsetting. We plan to rip it out in the future when we do more remodeling. Obviously, we will not use this contractor.

Scott was great to work with. I needed carpet in my basement and only had a week to get it done before my daughter's birthday party. He was great to work with, reasonably priced, had a nice selection of carpets in stock and his guy showed up and completed the project on time. The carpet is beautiful and gets compliments every time! <br />

My husband and I checked out two recommendations from Angies list and after visiting both we decided to have Scott at Kalia Floors and Design contract our work.. Our home is older.and he was very knowledgeable, prompt for his appointments and was interested in our project. Since we were replacing tile on a bathroom floor; wood in a kitchen and hall; and carpet in a bedroom and on a stairway, we wanted someone who could provided capable installers for all three projects without us having to go to multiple locations. <br /> We had done some research on the various types of wood flooring that would be available to us before our search began. When we were at the Kalia showroom, Scott took the time to explain the various types of wood he had available and discussed the pros and cons to each type of wood and which type of wood he felt would be best for our situation, living conditions and installation. <br /> Our estimate and final billing was itemized and there were no surprises. Each part of the procedure is priced separately so it was possible to adjust our installation preferences. The installation dates were arranged for our convenience and the installers came when scheduled. <br /> The work has been completed and we are delighted with the outcome of all three installations. The tile installer was especially helpful and skilled in arranging the various sized tiles we had selected. We wanted our wood floor installed on a special angle and again the installers accommodated our needs. It worked out beautifully and we are very happy with how it looks! <br /> All finishing touches were taken care of by each installer. Scott is actually the contractor and has very capable ?subcontractors? who work for him. They were all very professional. My husband and I would highly recommend Scott and Kalia Flooring.

We are extremely impressed with Kalia and the quality of work that was performed. Scott worked with us to set up an installation date and time that was best for us, and was very knowledgeable and involved in our decision making process. He was also available at all times and a great communicator . He made sure we were aware of all costs involved so there were no surprises. We were especially happy that at the last moment, we decided to install tile in the entryway downstairs, and Scott was able to make that happen within 48 hrs, so that the tile could be installed before the new carpet was installed. Both the carpet installers and tile installers were prompt, professional, and meticulous in their work. We are very pleased with the final result and will definitely use Kalia again for any future flooring projects. To top it all off, Kalia also gave us the best price! <br />

Scott really has vision! I wanted a tile with a finished edge for window sills but I wanted something other than the old style ceramic tiles that other stores kept showing me. He listened and right away showed me the perfect tile to use. I couldn't believe it was so easy! He gave me some instructions as to how to cut the tile and application information also. We will install it this weekend. As homeowners, we know that you are always improving and replacing, and it is great to find someone like Scott . <br />

OUTSTANDING CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! From the first time we walked into the showroom and spoke with Scott about our flooring needs, it was clear that we were dealing with a knowledgeable and experienced professional who wanted to ensure that we were taken care of. My wife and I were both impressed with the immediate knowledge he had of the products he offered and his willingness to walk through the showroom with us to compare the value and quality of different carpets. We're in the process of buying a new house and, as a condition of the purchase, had to have the carpet replaced and the house appraised before we could close. In order to meet our settlement deadline, we had a fairly strict timeline to work under and Scott was confident that he'd be able to meet our timeline. As the process progressed, due to various delays, our timeline became increasingly condensed and Scott was able to work his magic and do everything he could to meet our needs every time we threw a new ridiculous deadline at him. Additionally, because of the extent of the damage to the existing carpet, I needed to treat the subfloors before the new carpet went down and, to accomodate me, he had his installer come tear out the carpet and haul it away a few days before the scheduled install to give me time to do what I needed to. His installer, Jeff, was very professional and he took time as he was tearing out the old carpet to point out trouble spots on the subfloor. He completed the installation within his estimated timeframe and did a great job! The new carpet looks great and we will definitely go back to Scott with flooring projects we have planned for the future! <br />

We were having company in town, wanted to take care of this before they came. We went to Kalia (got it from Angies list) on a Monday, met Scott, picked the carpet. Scott came to our house did the measurement and ordered the carpet on Tue. The carpet arrived on Fri. His team installed it for us on Sat.and following Mon. So everything was done in a week. We are very happy with the result. <br />

This job went very well from start to finish. Scott came to measure 7:30am in order to fit my schedule, he gave us very detailed bid on the job, and his price was very competitive. They were busy at the time but he managed to get his guys here several days before schedule, and his installation team was awesome, did an excellent job on our floor and shower, and tried their best to accomodate our needs to the fine details(like increase the tile area in the entrance and shower wall). We ended up using more tiles than originally bid, but Scott did not charge us for that, we really appreciate it! <br /> If we have tile jobs again, I'll have no hesitation calling Scott again! <br /> Thank you, Kalia! <br />
