Katonabuilt Construction
About us
I have been building and remodeling homes since 1980. My years of experience have given me insight into what details and materials I can incorporate into my projects that my customers will benefit from year to year. I always upgrade in areas that will benefit the homeowner, for instance, I use Radiant Barrier Sheeting for all new or replacement roofing. This will give years of savings on Heating and AC. Whenever possible, I use Engineered beams that won't twist or sag like common wood beams. Tuscan and Mediterranean style homes are our forte. By using Acrylic Color Coatings instead of common stucco, we create homes that don't have exterior cracking. For years, I have worked with the same designer and engineer. We can build any style or vision of your dream home to life. We build and remodel homes in all price ranges for clients of all backgrounds. Recently, we completed a 5,000 sf home in Arcadia. Our quality of workmanship led to three other projects in that area. Through word of mouth, we have projects from Temecula to San Gabriel. Please email - katonabuilt@roadrunner.com

"Angie's new Ad Campaign states, " Real Reviews by Real People".... REALLY.... I've waited 9 months for a California State License Board determination of my case. It is commonly known that the CSLB was created to protect the Consumer. General Contractors have guide lines that are closely monitored by the License Board. I was found to not be guilty of all of the LIES that spewed from this individual. It is unfortunate that this individual can say whatever they want, no matter how badly it affects my livelihood. As for the quality of my craft, hidden in all the Lies listed above, Quality is rated "A"."
"This job did take longer than originally planned. When we removed wallpaper, as I had advised the member prior to removal, the walls behind the paper wasn't primed. The drywall sustained heavy damage, The walls and partial ceiling had to be floated and re-textured. When a homeowner purchases materials directly, as the member did, they need guidance to help buy the correct items. I waited for a number of items and decisions to be made regarding tile and hood-vent. I assembled and installed the cabinets myself. I built and installed the cabinets over her range. I told the member what size hood to buy. I even told her what model hood NOT to buy, being too large. She purchased the one I told her not to buy and said that's the one she wanted. I had to remove and custom build all the upper cabinets in that area. These two items extended the job an extra 10 days. Regarding placement of lighting, I always have my clients work with my Electrician to determine light placement, "It is their house". I made sure we included a separate light over the sink, but otherwise, the homeowner knows where they need work space lighting. I also met the member and her husband in Anaheim, twice, to assist her in selecting granite for her counters, 40 miles away. The member requested glass doors on some of her upper cabinets. She picked the glass she wanted and received pricing from her glass shop. I thought the pricing was too high, so I went looking for better pricing. Since the owner supplies the materials, that wasn't part my job, but I saved the member 50% of the cost she was quoted. The same for her stainless steel sink. Regarding not being on the job, I met with all my Sub-Contractors, none of which had to re-do their work.I assembled and installed the cabinets myself. Since much of the pre-assembled cabinets had to be custom built, I was on location rebuilding and custom fitting many of the cabinets. The member also stated that she would like to have a lazy-susan in her new kitchen. There wasn't much space, but I worked with her to assure that she and her husband "loved" the final product. I included custom end panels and over $ 250.00 worth of hardware at no additional cost. Yes the job took longer than the 5 weeks stated in the contract. But I made sure that the members were happy with their new kitchen. I wasn't there everyday, but when I completed the member's new kitchen, I was told how much they "Loved" the kitchen and what "nice work" I did."
