What started as a small project, backsplash for kitchen, quickly grew to updating most of our home as we loved Kathy's ideas and decided that if work was going to be done, we might as well get it all done at once. Kathy worked within our budget and coordinated workers to keep the projects moving forward. We are so pleased with the look as well as function of htese areas. Our home went from Meh to WOW! Thank you Kathy!

After reading reviews here, I called Kathy and she quickly made an appt. I was going to interview others but I liked her instantly. I had never used a decorator before and was thrilled by her easy going attitude. Some decorators I have spoken to seemed "stuffy" but Kathy was down to earth and easy to talk to. I hired her on the spot and she quickly came back with plans. She had really listened and nailed exactly what I wanted, even coming up with things I didn't know I wanted but really did want. Though she explained we could use as much or little of her help as we wanted, we wanted her to do most everything. We have not had good luck with contractors before and didn't relish doing that again. So Kathy took charge of everything. She arranged for all the contractors and took care of any issues that arose. She is so detail oriented! Kathy thought of things I would never have known to think of. And as is often the case, a couple of problems arose during the process, but Kathy handled everything. She is totally unflappable, yet she demands excellence of those she works with. If anything was not perfect, it got fixed. Yet we had no stress because Kathy handled everything! And now I have the craft room of my dreams and beautiful custom cabinetry for our tv. Her prices seemed excellent to me and totally worth it. Probably even saved money by not making costly mistakes. I am thrilled with how beautiful everything looks and couldn't be happier with Kathy. I would highly recommend you give her a try if you are looking for a decorator.

It looks more fantastic than I could have imagined. I absolutely love how it turned out. We were able to really maximize a small space and I went from a rather large kitchen in my previous house to a smaller one in this house, but I actually love my smaller kitchen better now because a) I have a gas stove which is easier to cook on, b) I have granite and a beautiful back-splash that is very upscale looking and c) I have a HUGE amount of counter space for such a small kitchen and I can do baking projects and other things on it very easily. Also with the drawers and lazy susan corner cabinets I find that most of my stuff fits fine and even though I had to get rid of some stuff, it fits everything I need. Overall I am very very satisfied with how hard Kathy worked on my floor-plan and for a reasonable price. She dealt with some issues with the contractors like a complete pro. Any time you're remodeling there are always going to be issues that crop up, but the importance is how they get solved and I am so happy I had Kathy on my side, and I plan to use her again in the future.

Couldn't ask for more. It was great! I put a zero in the dollar amount field because I don't want to add it up! Unlike many designers/decorators, Kathy charges an hourly consultation rate, which was more than fair, and then the costs of the goods are passed on to you. There is no upcharge and therefore no concern that she is basing her recommendations on what gives her the highest profit margin. An extremely fair arrangement in my book! <br />

I am still in the process of updating my MBathroom. She sows patience, proposes and comes up wi the best way to maximize space, and keep the look homogenous throughout the hous. Most importantly, she always has a few options in mind with an estimate cost for each, which extremely helpful for someone who is going through upgrades for the first time. I am planning to use her for future (and bigger) projects. She is wonderful to deal with.

Kathy, the decorator not only decorated my home beyond my wildest expectations but she also was my Project Manager. She got for me the painters, handymen, tile guy, and everything else needed to bring the condo up to it's current beautiful status. Everyone  who see's my apartment says it should be in a magazine.!! Believe me you will not be sorry if you use Kathy!! I think she's better than all those guys on TV. <br /> <br /> I am reminded everyday just looking around my home how lucky I was to have found Kathy. You will be too.!!!

Kathy is awesome!! She is so professional and has great ideas. I had called 2 other designers in here first, their suggestions were BLAH! Kathy came up with fresh ideas and delivered under budget. I first hired her to give me some ideas and to arrange art work on the walls and wow does it look great. She took my thoughts and some how came up with a design plan on a board that is better than anything I've ever seen on TV. Then I hired her to complete the job and design custom window treatments for my livingroom and diningroom. We will be shopping this week for some new pieces to fully "round out" the livingroom. She gets me discounts on new furniture and passes on the savings. It is an on-going process. Her prices are very reasonable (she will work by the hour or by the job) and I think she is worth twice the price! I can't believe I found such a gem. She came to me through a recommendation of a builder in the Raleigh area, who used her to stage his custom spec house. Call her! She will deliver!!!

We purchased our home in 2009, it had wonderful bones but was a plain, <br />blah house. Since our purchase, Kathy the owner has helped us transform it <br />into a beautiful home. We worked through one room at a time over the past <br />4 years. She spent time listening to what we wanted and needed for our <br />home, she then came up with an overview plan and helped us to stay focused <br />on that plan. She has an amazing eye for both color and texture. She <br />worked within our budget but still managed to give us a designer home! We <br />started in our kitchen, when we first bought the house we thought we would <br />have to pull out the cabinets, they were in great shape but  I originally <br />thought they were just a plain ugly color. Kathy had another idea in mind <br />to help save us some money. She had them glazed, just a wipe off glaze <br />that only shows in the detail of the doors, (very reasonable and quick <br />process) but it gave them a richness they didn't have before. She put on <br />handles, painted the room, tiled the back-splash and the floor and it <br />transformed the kitchen. She then did the most beautiful window treatments <br />that finished off the room. It was a fraction of the cost that it would <br />have been to change the cabinets and we were able to have the whole room <br />done and it looks like something out of a magazine. This is the way she <br />worked through our whole house, helping us get the most for our money. We <br />also have been very happy with every sub-contractor she sent to our house, <br />they have been clean, professional, and very reasonable! I can't say <br />enough about KD Interior Design, I  highly recommend them! <br />
