They did an amazing job on my wood floors! I had previously hand-scraped wood in formal areas and the kitchen downstairs! Not only did he match it to a T, but he did additional work, such as kitchen repairs due to new dishwashers! The work I had done was, 2 sets of staircases, with one being curved and the other L shape! Both had landings. They replaced all of my spindles. He also did the hall and game room in hardwood handscapewood! Not only are they beautiful but their price was very competitive! They did not overcharge or try to upcharge for higher things! This is a good honest business with great quality! They will forever be my go-to for any wood upgrades or repairs!

Roy and his crew are always professional and courteous as well as confident in their work and ability. Having done several jobs for me I’ve never had an unpleasant experience.

Very good as promised

Roy and his team are great to work with. He was able to get a team out to install about 600 square feet of engineered hardwood glue down with just a couple days notice. Very efficient and quality work. Installation looks beautiful. He stands by his work as well. We found a squeaky board and a couple places that were chipped a few days after the installation. Roy came out himself to repair and touch up. Next time we have flooring needs we will definitely call Kelley Hardwood Floors!

Roy Kelly Worked Magic: First a little background: Year 1922: High-end 6-unit apartment built in Fort Worth South Side. Year 1985: lousy tenant went to sleep on a soft while drinking and smoking. Curtains and ceiling caught fire. Burning embers from ceiling fell onto hardwood flooring in three rooms. Apartment was flooded with water. I thought hardwood flooring would never be used again and covered two rooms with carpet and two rooms with sub flooring topped with vinyl tile. Year 2019: updating apartment. Pulled up carpet. Hardwood has become highly desirable in rental property over past 34 years. Wondered if hardwood could be rescued. I called several refinishing business, but no one convinced me they knew what to do with my nasty-looking floor. All offered unacceptable plans and proposals. Then came Roy Kelly: he said that he had finished many 100-year old floors and convinced me that he knew what he was talking about. We quickly struck a deal. He replaced about 100 sq ft of the most damaged flooring and refinished the remainder. I expected that a black ebony stain (which I do not like) would be required to cover may of the burned spots. Roy sanded the floor as far as he could take it, and I was absolutely astounded that it looked so good. Some discolored spots remained, but floor still looked perfectly acceptable. So good that I decided to use a light Golden Oak stain. The floor really, really looked good after the stain and far exceeded my expectations. See the attached Before and After photos. I still have enough flaws to give it "character", but heck, I didn't pay for a new wood floor. I was not in a rush to get this job completed, and Mr. Kelly worked with me to do a little at the time to allow me opportunities to come by and make inputs without taking off work. He was accommodating to all of my personal whelms. All this good service --- at the lowest of three estimates. Reader, if you have been patient enough to read this complete review.............. Kudos to you.............. You are serious about getting your hardwood floors refinished. Don't waste time getting a bunch of estimates. Just be decisive, call Roy, and tell him to Just Do It. You will be pleased.

Told the turn around time would be about a week and it was completed in the week promised.

I had a hardwood floor damaged by water. Due to the pattern the original floor was done and the type of hardwood, I called over 20 installers and flooring companies and Roy Kelley, the owner, was the only one that had the experience to take this. Literally, everyone else either said It was too hard or had a variety of other reasons why they didn't want to tackle it. Roy and his team came out as promised and did an incredible job. My floor looks like the day the builder installed it. As you can tell, I was extremely pleased with his service. I would highly recommend him for any of your flooring needs without hesitation.

It went really well. Very pleased with the floors. They moved the heavy master bedroom furniture, which was very helpful and they had the job done in 3 days or less.

Once the job was started, there was daily progress until the job was completed. Roy always arrived on time, or phoned if he was running a little late. It is obvious that he takes a great deal of pride in what he does and wants his customers to be satisfied with the work. He is very fair and honest with his price as well. We hope to do more business with him and his company in the future.

I bought my house about 5 years ago and had the existing floors redone at that time by a friend of a friend. When they were originally done, I thought they were amazing. It didn't take long for me to see that they were very poorly done. About a year ago, I had Roy come out and give me a quote. I had reached out to 3 different companies and Roy came in the lowest, but also gave me the most comfortable experience. I could tell that this wasn't just a job to him, this was a passion. Roy is very personable and took his time to really look at the existing floors. he pointed out things that I had not even noticed. At the time, things got in the way and I had to put it off for about a year. when I reached out to Roy a year later, he honored my original quote and gave me an estimated time to begin the job. (he was booked a few weeks out) Roy started as promised and even finished quicker than I expected. I cannot comment enough on how beautiful these floors turned out. I was terrified that once the stain came off, that there would be some areas that would require repair, but not only did the floors turn out beautiful once sanded, they even got out areas that the previous floor people told me where unsalvageable. I went with a natural color this time (my house was built in the 50's and this is the original hardwood floor) they turned out so perfect that you would think I had laid laminate flooring in my entire house. They took the time to seal the cracks (I saw this with my own eyes when I went over to check on the process before the stain went down). This was by far the best investment I have made in this house to date. I cannot thank Kelly Hardwood enough for turning my house into what feels like a brand new home again. I will definitely use them again in the future and would recommend them to anybody.

I picked them because they had good reviews. We got quotes from another contractor but this company came lower on the bid. The floor is beautiful! When they put the stain on the first time, it wasn't really saturated enough. We talked to them about it, so they went back and re-stained it and applied polyurethane. They turned out beautiful and we are very pleased.

I called in early January and Roy came by at the appointment time to give me a bid on refinishing my hardwood floors.  We discussed some of the high traffic areas that were showing wear and he pointed out several things I had not noticed!   Roy gave me an estimate right then with a formal bid by e-mail later.  We had several things come up and did not get on the schedule right away, so it was late Feb before I called back to schedule a time for the work to be done.  Their schedule was about 3 weeks out but we set an estimated date for the work to be done.  As the date got closer, Roy called to confirm the exact date and a crew of 2 came on the appointed date.  They were a little later than I expected, but explained they had picked up supplies.  They went to work and lightly sanded the floors, vacuumed and put on the first coat of finish.   Roy had warned me that we might see a line at the entrances to the bedrooms that were not done, but they did a great job of blending at those points.  Additionally, they hand sanded a small spot in the office where my husbands chair was wearing a mark in the that room.  They came back the next morning to put on a second coat of finish.  I was very happy with the knowledge of everyone I encountered and was happy with the floors until I tried to clean them.  They did not seem to clean evenly.  Roy came out to look at them and brought a cleaning kit that included a different cleaning product and Swiffer type "mop".  My floors have never looked better!  And, judging by the dirt on the mop, they've never been cleaner! <br /> I had tried to get bids on doing the work a couple of times before I found Kelly Hardwoods and had never heard back from companies.  So I don't have a good comparison on the price of the work but it was more than I was expecting.   We have lived in this house for 5 years, so I am hoping this refinish will also last that long, making it well worth it.   And, unless it doesn't last at all well, I expect to call Kelly Hardwoods again.

I have used them before in 2010. He is excellent. He is on time and honest. He gave me a great bid and he just did a great job. Anything that came out a little bit below my expectations, he redid. He is absolutely wonderful. Even in an ice storm they called and said that they would be coming, but they would be late. They cleaned up after themselves completely. They were punctual. They told me when they were going to leave for lunch and were back right when they said they would be. They gave me time to let my dog go out in the backyard and play and then put him back up. They were great. They were just very conscious of what was going on in my house while they were here. They did the least amount of disturbing as they could. The people that work for him are just as great. They are two brothers and they were so nice and polite. I had a runner put up my stairs with a different guy and he said the stairs were perfect. He has never seen stairs as great, as far as leveled and the wood and everything. After they had finished he himself came in to make sure everything was done. And he did a couple of touch-ups too. In 2010 he refinished my entry way and my dining room for me. He himself did it with one worker.

They showed up when they said they would and completed the job without a hitch.  I will not use anyone but them in the future when it comes to wood floor repairs, refinishing, or installation.  I am a happy customer.

Roy was honest and meticulous; his workers were professional.  They came as scheduled, on a Monday, to remove carpet and prepare for sanding; Tuesday was sanding, staining  and finishing day; we coated with polyurethane, so that took three coats with drying time in between. We were able to inhabit the room again on Friday morning.  We paid extra for the recommended dust free sanding, and that seemed to be worth the cost in helping to keep dust to a minimum. <br /> There were a few spots that had needed repair that were overlooked in the initial staining process, Roy came and finished those a couple days later. <br /> A couple gestures that caused us to work with Roy rather than others from whom we got estimates included the fact that he wanted to pull up several areas of the carpet to inspect for damage before giving us an estimate; that made us feel like he was not interested in securing a low bid, before surprising us with extra needed repair costs in the end.  Also, he seemed overall to be fair and honest.  We plan to use his service again when we turn to further improvements of our hardwood.

It turned out really well. We're really pleased with it. I had to call him and ask him to come and take a look at one spot because it was quite rough and he came and said, "Oh! That is not acceptable. We've got to redo that part" So they came the next day and then resealed that one spot. He said that must have been a different container of sealer. He was very responsive. His guys were knowledgeable, they were clean, they cleaned up after themselves. They put plastic to block off the kitchen from the dust and cleaned up after themselves every evening. We were very pleased! One of the reasons I went with him was because several other reviews talked about how he handled old houses and old floors. Also he had to patch the floors in two different rooms. Old houses had the heaters that came out through the floor in the corner and because it was covered with carpet they were just plywood at the top. So he matched flooring he had taken out of other old houses and he was able to patch it in and then seeing it all matches. I did not know what to expect but I was really pleased.
