I do not recommend doing business with this company. In February 2021, I ordered two sets of gas logs from Kelly Plumbing for my home, signing a contract that agreed to a 50% deposit to be charged to my credit card. Upon checking with my bank a few days later, I discovered that Kelly Plumbing had charged my card significantly more than the amount I had authorized. I called Kelly (the owner) to find out the reason and was informed the logs I had ordered were not in his stock and he had to place an order with the manufacturer, requiring the second charge. I fully understood the rationale for the charge, but the fact that it was placed without my permission provided my first indication of how this business operates. Several weeks later, I spoke to Kelly to get an update and was informed the log sets we ordered were unavailable due to pandemic related manufacturing issues. Kelly then suggested we switch to a different, more expensive log set which was readily available. He assured us that this log set was superior to what we had originally ordered. We agreed to this new plan. The installation date was finally set for late April 2021. As Kelly’s crew began unpacking the log sets in our home, my wife and I began to have misgivings about the burner and log configuration. I called Kelly to inform him I did not think it would provide anything close to a realistic look in our large fireplace. Kelly assured me that we would “love” the log set, backing up his assertion by stating he had the same logs in his own home. In hindsight, we should have asked the crew to pack up the log sets and go on to another job, but we unfortunately agreed to proceed with the installation. After the gas logs were installed and lit, my wife and I were extremely disappointed by their appearance. We notified Kelly that we did not “love” the product and asked him about our options. Thus began six months of aggravation. I have never encountered a more difficult person to work with. After 3 months of texts and phone calls, Kelly finally agreed to come to our house in July to address our issue. While there, he agreed in writing to remove the log set he provided, install any new log set provided by us and give us 50% credit on the returned log set (Kelly told us it was illegal in Maryland for him to resell our used log sets, although a quick internet search reveals used log sets for sale at many Maryland locations). Multiple texts and phone calls later (Kelly can be very unresponsive), we finally got him to send his crew back in October to remove the log set he had supplied. We did not ask him to install a new log set, as by this juncture we wanted to minimize our dealings with his company. When I asked Kelly about my credit for the returned log set, he replied it was a wash with his expenses for log set removal. This was not what Kelly and I had agreed to in writing months earlier. I was expecting, based on his written agreement and verbal commitment that we were due a refund for half the value of the log set. When I pressed the matter, he accused me of trying to extort money from him. I could not believe he took this position. It was if our agreement had never happened. Tired of beating my head against the wall, and convinced it was futile to pursue this matter further, I decided my only recourse was to write this review. Hopefully, it will prevent someone else for making the mistake of doing business with Kelly Plumbing.

After arriving two hours later than informed, the technician gave a nonsensical evaluation regarding the source of a suspected water leak. He implied that the reason my kitchen ceiling gets wet is due to water through the glass shower door seal from the bathroom above. He passed a card between the door and the seal to demonstrate space where water could pass through. Obviously there is space. It is a door, not a watertight seal. Of course water would pass through if aimed directly at it. Here are the reasons that is not possible. 1. The shower spray does not point at nor hit the glass door 2. When showering, the angle of the water hitting a person flows in the opposite direction of the seal. 3. There is a bath towel outside the door for a person to step on to capture any droplets when the door is opened. 4. The bathroom floor is tile. Beneath it is mortar, cement board, and wood subfloor. One would have to run the shower directly onto the floor for an extended period for enough penetration to occur such that it would affect the ceiling drywall below. According to my wife, he demonstrated that the leak was not from the drain by pouring water down it and having her check for a leak below. This was an inaccurate way to test because it was reported to him that there was no direct dripping at the time. It was an over-time saturation (couple of days) only noticeable when the ceiling paint started distorting. We are obviously not satisfied with this outcome since water still flowed down through the kitchen light fixture when the shower was last used. Exorbitant fee for lackadaisical service.

My hvac system died, blown compressor, in the middle of torrid weather. Called Kelly Pumbing and Heating. Got it replaced in 1 day with a more suitable system they recommended that works much better.

The owner had an appointment to come to my house to give me an estimate. He sent me a text saying he was running behind and quoted me $895 for the install of my water heater and $125 for a permit. A total of $1020. The owner never showed up to look at the job yet because he was about $200 less than all the other bids (who actually came to my house) I scheduled with him. However, when his technician got here, he told me that the job was more involved and the owner showed up. The cost went from $1020 to $1595. The owner stated that the job was going to require more materials and he could not do it for less than $1595. I should have told him to leave. However, I am a teacher and go back to work next week so I had a limited window of time to get this done. So I pay the owner $1595 and he left saying he was going to have another technician come help his guy, but no one else came. My son went to shower in his bathroom last night and asked me where his bath towel is. I told him I hadn't touched it. We looked everywhere for it. It is not in this house. Then he was leaving to go to the gym this morning. He asked me where I put his blue gym towel. I said I thought he left it on the bed. Not there and no where to be found. I text the owner of Kelly Plumbing and Heating and told him that the towels were missing. He called me soon after and said his technician claims he is 100% sure he did not take them- but they are gone. I thought maybe he used them and took them by accident but to lie about it, that's stealing. The owner was very rude to me asking me "how much do you need to replace two "old" towels?" Before he left, the technician suggested I use Kelly Plumbing and Heating for a maintenance plan. This will NOT be happening. Beware.

"The owner was not truthful about the type of hot water heater she was having installed it was a high tech heat pump hot water heater requiring additional work! I told her in writing what I would do the job for before we did any work. I told her to get other estimates she told me to go ahead. These special hot water heater require lots of labor and materials to install them correctly. We do not cut corners for anyone period! She called me several days later told me my worker was a lier and that he stoled to blue towels and she wanted money for them l agreed. She then went on and on telling me how stressful her life was. I asked her to tell me how much money she wanted, she then became out of control and very abnormal! I was totally disturbed !!!!!! She seemed to be having some kind of mental disconnect!! I told her I would fire the worker immediately on her word She then said my employee asked her for a drink of water She thought that wasn’t right either??? Very sad She finished the conversation telling me she was going to get revenge on me, my employee and my Company! I then told her I would pray for her and her family! It is sad now a days that people have become unhinged over the smallest things!!!! Our reputation speaks for its self It’s sad that these type of people exist without the mental treatment they need. I am going to donate the full amount of this contact to a mental health agency I will continue to pray for her and her Family . The work was permitted and inspected. It passed with flying colors. She request $50.00 for (2) hand towels, I paid her $50.00 in cash with a signed release. This case/customer saddeneds me deeply! I would love to try and get her help but it is in Our best interest to just let this pass and move forward. God Bless!"

Excellent service. Kelly communicated with me by text, which was my preference, and the service was scheduled quickly. I contacted them on Saturday, and the appointment was schedule for 8 a.m. Monday morning. Sean arrived early, quickly identified the problem with fireplace and had it working in minutes. He also quickly and easily replaced a pedestal sink in our powder room, leaving it clean and nice. We will definitely do business with this company again in the future.

The plumber worked quickly and efficiently to solve the plumbing issues in my home. The garbage disposal issue was a quick fix and the tub needed to be "snaked." In my opinion this was not cheap; however, it was less expensive than the first well-known plumbing company that told me they would need to drill a hole in my wall to fix the issue with the tub and the cost would be no less than $500.

Excellent service. We had slow drains in the house and needed to see if the sewer line needed cleaned out. Technicians were very thorough and determined that a clean out was not necessary. Very honest people and were very professional.

This is really a great company. Super-responsive, fair prices, and, most importantly, quality work done by knowledgable and hard-working folks. I initially called about a leaky kitchen faucet and the owner contacted me right away and was at my house within the hour. He diagnosed my problem immediately, recommended a solution, gave me a reasonable estimate, and said it would be taken care of that day. I was so impressed that I decided to ask for a quote on replacing an aging sump pump and water heater. I wound up having those replaced as well. They also installed a frost-free spigot in front of the house when I mentioned the issues I was having with the ancient "vacuum breaker" that sprayed water everywhere and that I simply could not remove myself. Now flash-forward to 2 weeks later: I detected a water-stain on my living room ceiling which I deduced was probably coming from an upstairs toilet. I called after hours and left a message describing the problem. The owner called me early the next morning and sent sent somebody out immediately. The issue was determined to be a deteriorated "wax ring". Rather than doing a repair, I decided-- at no urging from them-- to have both of the 30-year old toilets in my house replaced with new units. The job was done quickly and professionally in just a couple of hours. Few things are as stressful to homeowners as plumbing and water-related issues. However, it is a relief to know that there are competent, responsive professionals out there like Kelly that you can turn to when the need arises.

Extremely well. Kelly noticed another potential safety hazard and fixed it as well. He explained everything as he went along. He showed up promptly on a Saturday morning. I didn't have to schedule 4 weeks in advance and take a day off to wait for him; he worked with my schedule. I would use his services again in a heartbeat.

The technician was prompt and courteous. He quickly found the issue of some kinked wires. He fixed it and was done. Also cleaned the unit and glass. Biggest plus was that they were able to this appointment in just 3 days. Other places were 6+ weeks. I would definitely hire them again.

It went really well. Mr.Kelly and his team were very professional. I didn't know anything about repairing and cleaning a gas fireplace, but Mr.Kelley took the time to explain everything to me. This was a one person job which was noted at the time of call. A plumber and a helper came to my home, they could both barely fit in the bathroom. The valve was replaced in less than 20 minutes. I was charged TWO labor fees totaling $260.00, one fee for the plumber and I guess another for the laborer. This is ridiculous. They were two hours late and no one called to inform me. I will not call Kelly Plumbing in the future. I HAVE NEVER PAID TWO LABOR FEES NO MATTER HOW MANY PEOPLE DO THE JOB! Home repairs are expensive enough without being charged extra nonsensical fees.

Good and quick work. Seems to have fixed the leak. But I did want to flag for others that the $155 service charge does not count toward the first hour of labor ($105/hour). An 75 minutes of work ended up costing me $465 (2 hours of labor, service charge and $40 material). Perhaps that's fair. I don't know.

We needed a filter removed from our system in order to replace or repair a broken washer/dryer unit. Kelly was able to come out within 24 hours of contact and performed the work at very close to the estimate that was given sight-unseen. They were early, worked efficiently and completely cleaned up before departing. Will definitely have them out to quote on some larger projects around the house.
