Kentstruction is a family business with two generations serving the community. On staff is a crew of six carpenters which have worked many years for the company, very dedicated and concerned with customer satisfaction. The company is able to handle the smallest job like installing a skylight up to adding an entire second floor or building a house from scratch; lately the public has been requesting many kitchens and bathrooms. It is our mission to bring beauty and comfort to your home. After over two decades of experience Kentstruction has ironed out many of the wrinkles that come up during the construction process, and will strive to make each project a good experience for each and every customer.

Gary and the team did a great job. My wife wanted a timber frame look to the front entrance and the guys created an amazing custom look. Gary made some design suggestions along the way, and we think they really enhanced the overall look. This is the 4th or 5th time we have used Kentstruction and I cannot say enough great things about them.

Once we hired Kentstruction to do our job, Kent told us he would start in 4 weeks and that's exactly when they came. The job was done quickly and efficiently. Kent and his brother Eban were so helpful when it came to making decisions on products and designs. They were always timely and professional and the work they did was excellent. We will hire them again for our next home improvement,.

If I could give a higher rating, I would. Kent and his team are top notch craftsmen. They were clean, punctual, responsive and extraordinarily polite. Jonathan, James and Alex -- the "team" that worked on my basement -- are amazingly talented. They completely transformed my basement from an unfinished embarrassment to something out of a magazine! I strongly recommend Kentstruction and can't wait to use them for our next renovation!

removed a/c in wall and patched up area and replaced shingles on outside side of house. <br /> Paid more (double) in addition to the shingles needed. Even though it took the amount of ti+me as stated in the deal, they charged me more. <br />

It looks beautiful! They paid attention to what I said and my concerns. My deck is an "L" shaped deck, and I requested that the planks were installed on the diagonal, which is more difficult, but they did it. They resurfaced the trim across the front of the deck and the "L" shaped seats/benches, and those planks are on the diagonal as well. They also replaced all the railings. After they did all that, they stained everything that they did, exactly how I asked them to, which included two different stain colors with two coats each. I am so happy with how it turned out. I knew what I wanted, and I got what I wanted.

GARY THE OWNER'S STEP SON WAS POLITE AND PROFESSIONAL AND SPOKE KNOWLEDGEABLY AND IN DETAIL ABOUT THE JOB . HE MENTIONED SEVERAL IMPORTANT ASPECTS OF THE JOB THAT NONE OF THE OTHER CONTRACTORS MENTIONED . GARY CAME BACK TWO DAYS LATER TO DOUBLE CHECK ON HIS APROACH AND WITHIN TWO DAYS HE HAD PROVIDED ME WITH A ITEMIZED , DETAILED ,I MEAN A DETAILED QUOTE SHOWING EVERY ASPECT OF THE JOP AND THE COST OF THE INDIVIDUAL TASK. AS WELL AS A LIST OF REFERALS AND A PORTFOLIO OF PREVIOUS JOBS . <br /> <br /> I HAD THREE OTHER CONTRACTORS COME AS WELL FOR A QUOTE . EACH WAS FURNISHED WITH A FULL SET OF ARCHITECT DRAWINGS. THEY ALL TOOK THREE TO FOUR WEEKS TO PROVIDE A QUOTE . <br /> ONE CONTRACTOR FROM THAT OTHER WEB SITE WASN'T EVEN CLOSE WITH HIS QUOTE AND DID NOT SEEM VERY KNOWLEDGEABLE . I had the wonderful pleasure of working with Gary the Forman of kentstruction and he provided the best quality service one could ask for. Always on time, very informative with the work to be performed, kept you in the know. The came in and accomplished every task with efficiency , professionalism and a great sense of humor. The quality of work exceeded my expectation above and beyond what I expected. They were ok but not special. They were kind of slow so ended up paying more. They work too slowly and I think they should work at a normal pace.

My wife and I recently had our basement flood and also our upstairs half bath as well after back and forth with the insurance company we finally received our insurance check for the damages and decided to remodel both. I met with a few local contractors then Gary. Being a tradesmen myself for many years I knew what to look for. From the start of the job I knew I had picked the right crew Alex and Edgar are both experienced craftsmen who take pride in their work, they worked clean fast and were always on time. They kept me in the loop and went above and beyond the scope of work intionally laid out in our contract. Needless to say me, my wife and family are very happy with the finished product, and will be using Kentstruction again for our next project. <br />

"I am sure i put in more work on the preparation of your drawings then Home Depot would have, home depot does not size beams to take down walls or plan out all aspects of your job to actually build it. The cost of the plans would have came off the cost of your project, they would have been free. I am not advertising I am the cheapest person out there and I don't want to be, a cheap job in the beginning means you will pay more in the end. I am advertising a very high quality project for a fair price,"

Norbay, the craftsman, arrived on schedule at 1pm, but only had an inadaquate battery powered multitool with him. He easily freed or partially freed a few of the windows, but the tool overheated and broke at about 2:15. Also, the first battery had quickly run down, and Norbay was well into a second battery. I question whether he had enough other charged batteries with him to complete the job if the tool had not broken down. In other words, he was dispatched without right tool, the one that I had told Gary had proved necessary to do this job. Norbay admitted that the proper heavy duty corded multitool was "in the other truck" and therefore far away. He had an even smaller multitool, which he tried with no success. <br /> Norbay and I both spoke on the phone with Gary, who said to me that the company would not send a worker back with the proper tool because the the travel time would make the job unprofitable. I reminded Gary that I had specifically told him which tool had proved successful in the past and that sending the wrong tool was his mistake. <br /> Nevertheless, Gary would not honor his company's word, its commitment to the Angie's list deal, and its integrity and any reputation for rectifying its own mistake. Had Gary been less shortsighted, this unprofitable job could have led to profitable ones. I'm considering kitchen and bathroom renovations, and I like to recommend good service providers to friends and neighbors. I would never use or recommend this company that does not stand by its own mistakes. <br /> I have no criticism of Norbay; he just wasn't sent with the right tool. <br /> Because an exterior painter will soon begin work, I need to get this job done as soon as possible <br />

<p>This was a huge stress for me because of a huge budget and my wife was expecting our first child. I researched construction companies for months and attended two home improvement shows at my local college before getting bids from 3 or 4 companies. The ones I decide were all members with NARI. My contact person with Kenstruction was Gary Conrad. First impressions was that he was knowledgeable and professional. I used photos from remodeling magazines and my own sketches to show Gary what we wanted. About Two weeks later I had all the bids laid out of the table. We decided on Kentruction because of reference phone calls, photos of their work, NARI certifications and price. Their price wasn't the lowest, But it wasn't the highest. The price was reasonable for the job. </p> <p>Upon Signing with Kentruction, Gary went to work on permits and detailed plans. The framing was done my Kenstruction staff. The plumbing, electrical, drywall, insulation, tile, wood floors and foundation work was done by subcontractors. I only had quality issues with the drywall subcontractor and the foundation. I understand Kenstruction no longer uses those drywall subs. The foundation sub showed up at my front door with a bill for the concrete as the last truck was pouring. That bill should have went to Gary. Once I let Gary know he immediately took care of it. The foundation sub also tried to burry an old concrete rear patio stoop next to the new foundation, instead of removing it all together. The local building inspector caught it. Gary was informed and his crew broke up and removed the concrete patio before back filling.</p> <p>Once the crew put the shell up, the rest went without a problem. Gary built a custom wood tub surround so it can be removed for future repair or service. Payment was done is stages as the project progressed. The company owner, Kent showed up at the site to see the work. When the remodel was done they even had someone clean the entire house. </p> <p>In 2011, I notice one small vertical crack develop on each new concrete wall. I contacted Gary and he came out to look at it. He advised it's normal stress crack and not an issue. If it got any larger he would repair it. I researched it and stress cracks are normal and not a problem. The cracks don't appear to have grown.</p> <p>Now its 2014, and all the work is holding up well. All I had to is replace the new bath exhaust fan. Any future project, Kenstruction will be on my bid list.</p> <p><br /> </p> <p> **** UPDATE *****</p> <p>July, 2014 I just had Kentstruction here for their 4HR remodel deal. They came over to put up a storage platform in the attic for storage. Gary came over and installed it himself. Looks good. Thanks.</p>
