Key Painting

Not good. They neglected to point out rotted siding and just painted over it. The wainscoting ceiling work started drooping a year after installation as it was just suspended in many places. He was going to do siding on my garage but claimed he tested the present shingle siding had asbestos and would be expensive to remove. He kept claiming he would refund me the $3000 for the siding he said he had ordered but I never got any money. I am now thinking he was a con man and am not sure he ever bought the siding. I retested the garage myself with a service and they found no asbestos

Fine at first, then terrible. I got ripped off. I paid for a rebate that Bill would get me (scammed), then when the job had defects, Bill didn't respond. I got screwed.

Worked was completed early for price agreed. Crew was courteous and cleaned up, however a side project to replace concrete steps on the side of the house turned into a 10 month ordeal to try to get a refund for work not performed. Bill Key stopped returning calls or replying to my emails about a $350 refund he stated in writing I would receive for the work not performed on a $4k contract. I would not use again, would not recommend and am considering a small claims case to receive my refund. What a hassle

It went VERY badly. Within days of the epoxy being applied, and after waiting two additional days for the floor to dry and cure, the finish began to come up. I contacted Bill Key who said he talked to the epoxy supplier and they recommended waiting until the weather was warmer to apply another coat. After waiting to hear from them I reached out to him. On July 11 the owner said he was in Texas through August 22 and would do the recoat after he returned. When I attempted to set a date in an August 4 text for September 6, he never responded to my text until September 6 and tried to push me off until mid-September. When we finally agreed on a date, he texted me to say his guys came to the house but I wasn’t here. I told him that was a lie because I was indeed home but he tried to push me off to another day. At that point I told him on the phone that I had had it with him. (Oh yeah, he told me on that call that he was down in South Carolina or he would have done it himself). He told me he would refund my money and to send him the bills I had paid. ($799.00 for the Angie’s List offer and an additional $1,650.00 for the extras). He would then say he didn’t get the text, so to e-mail it. Then after that wasn’t good enough he said to mail it but, gee, he didn’t get that either. I finally sent copies Certified Mail, only to have the USPO say that there was no one there and no forwarding address was given.

At first it went well. Then, after a month or so, the entire stairway and all of the doors started peeling. I contacted Bill Key and he said that he would be happy to correct this. I had to continue contacting him for many months that turned into a year before I finally had to hire another service to fix the problems - for $900. After probably 25 or more messages, Bill finally agreed to send me some money to cover this, but when the check came it was not the amount that he promised. I really wanted to believe in his integrity, but am very disappointed to say that in the end it was not there.

Bill and his crew were very efficient and did a quality job. In addition to being great painters, they were very kind to our new puppy - letting her out during the day while they were working. Thanks, guys!

Kitchen ceiling tested positive for lead. Bill explained additional cost and risk. Additional work was completed. Kitchen ceiling looks great.

Bill contacted us promptly and quickly gave us an estimate of what was needed and what it would cost. He told us that it could take up to 10 working days to complete. Antonio, Tom, and Bill arrived Tuesday and completed the bulk of the work by Saturday (5 working days) returning to move items back into place the following week. Antonio and Tom were here all days, and were polite and hard working, a joy to have work on our house. Bill arrived when the epoxy was going down, and was likewise polite and informative. All jobs have unexpected glitches, and they handled these with aplomb. We are very pleased with the result and are happy to recommend them to others.

We were in need of repair for some cracking in three rooms of our home. We had difficulty finding a reliable contractor to complete the work in a timely and affordable manner. When we contacted Key Painting, Bill was quick to return our inquiry and come look at our projects. Bill proposed a couple different solutions to repairing the cracks in the ceilings and preventing further damage. Once we agreed upon a plan of repair, Bill had us sign a contract and scheduled the work to be completed the next week. Bill's crew was actually able to start a couple days early, and two workers tackled our interior repairs. Both men, Mr. Suhr and Antonio, were professional and skilled. Mr. Suhr was very knowledgeable. He was able to repair and match the texture on all our ceilings flawlessly. We were very impressed with Mr. Suhr's skills and genuine desire to do a quality job. Each day, Bill would contact us to answer any questions and give us an idea of what to expect next. It took about two days to repair the ceilings in our dining room, living room and bedroom. In our dining room, the textured ceiling was also sanded down and re-painted to blend in the repairs. Our living room needed a seam repair that Mr. Suhr did efficiently and blended the wall and ceiling paint together. The bedroom had a 5+ft crack that you can no longer see as Mr. Suhr flawlessly blended the repairs with the sand-in-paint designs that were preexisting. Overall, we are extremely impressed with the skill and professionalism of Mr. Suhr, Antonio and Bill with Key Painting. The crew was courteous, clean and knowledgeable. All our questions were answered. Bill and his crew also stand by their work, so we have confidence that should we need any further repairs, they would be back to correct the problem.

We had an excellent experience working with Key Painting. Bill returned our inquiry through Angie's List promptly and scheduled a time to come out to take a look at our projects. Bill was very upfront with wanting to make sure we stayed on budget and also give us quality service and work. Bill was always open to any questions we had and returned our inquiries quickly. Once we agreed on the exterior work to be done, Bill came out with a contract and then scheduled his crew to start work. They were able to start a week earlier and finished the exterior painting in less time than anticipated. Bill's crew arrived when expected and worked diligently throughout the day. Everyone was friendly and respectful of our property. Each day there was work being done, the crew was neat and cleaned up in the evening. Overall, we are very impressed with Key Painting. The project quote was reasonable and the work done was as expected. Bill went out of his way to make sure we were happy with the work and guarantees all workmanship. Having done our research, we are confident in the quality work and professionalism of Key Painting and will recommending them to friends and family.

Bill Key is a outgoing friendly business owner. He returns phone calls and just calls to see how things are going. His work crew is first class. Wonderful people. I felt so comfortable with the crew that I left the house open and went and did some errands. The men doing the staining went beyond painting and nailed in loose boards. Interior ceiling repair came out fantastic - you can't tell where the damaged areas were. The only thing I am disappointed in, is, just as we are about to move to Florida, I find this wonderful, professional company. I would hire them for all my painting and drywall work.

 Bill and his crew did an outstanding job. Bill was very prompt scheduling the estimate and performing the service. He clearly explain what would we be done and presented me with a contract for services. Bill was on the job both days of the service.  He had two workers perform the job, both were excellent. I can tell his workers were quality people.  The first day the garage floor was scraped, acid washed and resurfaced. The second day the epoxy finish was applied. . So far I am very pleased with the work, as is my wife-- therefore I am doubly pleased.

Initial Interview: Went very smoothly. Bill is very friendly and easy to talk to. This work is new to me. He explained the scope of the damage - very pitted from decades of salt, some cracks, and damaged front edge. I knew it was in bad shape. He explained the repairs that were required, and they required extra attention/work. We added my front porch (concrete) to the job. The garage is about 25 x 20 feet, 500 square feet. He left and I soon received an estimate for the work. I had done my homework and his quote was close to my guesstimate, so I felt it was a fair price. Note - this included a promotion discount offered thru Angie's List. I would have cringed if I had had to pay the full price. We also discussed the finish of the epoxy - the flakes being added. Bill texted some photos to illustrate light, medium, and heavy flaking. He made recommendations and readily accepted my different decisions. I was advised the work would span 2 days and then the epoxy needed drying time - 24 hours before anything could be placed on it, 72 hours before parking the car. <br> <br>Work Crew: A two man crew came Monday and Tuesday mornings. They were friendly and I enjoyed meeting the men who would fix my garage floor. Bill was also there at the start each morning. Monday we signed the contract and we made our final detail points on the project; including that the garage door needed to remain open until the evening. There will be a final step in a couple weeks, a clear coat finish will be applied after the epoxy has thoroughly dried. <br> <br>I was surprised when he came with the contract that the payment was to be paid in full at the commencement of the job. I understand that this is an Angie's List procedure. The contract notes that the funds will be held in an escrow account. This make sense, given paying for services before they are completed. My guess is that Bill will remember this comment and notify people ahead of time in the future. <br> <br>Initial Review Of The Work: The floor and porch look great! The repairs, especially to the front edge are very good. There was NO debris/garbage left for me to dispose. They had placed empty Quikrete (?-or similar) boxes in a large garbage bag after Monday's work, outside the garage. The bag was gone Tuesday. I know they had to have had empty epoxy containers! This was a nice surprise - you know how contractors tend to leave debris behind for us to dispose of. Everything was cleaned up! <br> <br>I like the work and professionalism of Bill and his team. He is easy to talk with when discussing the project. This was new to me and I was comfortable with his responses. He made no attempt to upsell, which I appreciate.  I definitely recommend him. <br> <br> <br>

They did a nice job on the garage floor, but Bill Keys promised me a $250 gift card which I have never received. I have contacted him about a dozen times since the work has been finished. He continues to promise the card, but it never comes. The rating below differs from my initial rating based on the difficulty that I have had with receiving the gift card.

They did a good job. I had other companies in the past do it, but they did a better job.

Bill did a very professional job and everything turned out really well. He was punctual and worked very hard. I have recommended him to friends because I'm so pleased with his work and his professionalism.

Very well. The provider, Bill, came to my home to give me an estimate. The estimate was right on. The crew arrived to do the work right when they were scheduled. Bill was on-site every day and explained exactly the process. The crew was also very informative and kept me up to date on what was going on. The floor looks great. Bill has followed up every day to make sure I knew what needed to be done through out the process. We're very happy with the floor and the service.

It went well they were prompt the workers did a good job explaining what they were doing. They communicated the process well. They did a terricifc job.

It went beautiful. Our garage is 37 years old and have pitting and deep cracks. They resurfaced it, let it dry over night, sanded and epoxied it the next day. It turned out beautiful with little flecks in it. I never thought it could look this good again. They were very professional and did everything in a timely manner. They cleaned out some items from the garage that were too heavy for us to lift. The time they started and finished was within the time frame they initially quoted. We are very pleased.

I made the appointment right from Angie's List e-mail, and Bill (the owner) returned my call within a few hours.  He came out that day and gave us an estimate and told us he could begin within 2 days. The two workers arrived promptly at 8:30, and Bill was there at the start of the job.  On the first day they did the powerwashing and a coating to fill in all of the pitting.  They left around 3:00 so that the work could dry before proceeding with sanding and applying the epoxy.  They left the area in great order, and set up a time (8:30) to come the next day. Later, Bill called to change the time to 9:00, and they arrived on time, began work and finished at 2:00.  Bill was there at the beginning of the day and the end.  In addition, outside the back door of the garage was a small section of concrete walkway that was pitted.  Bill filled that for us also as part of the job with no extra charge. <br>The work looks great and we definitely will use this company for additional work. SECOND JOB: He was very professional and on time. The guys that did the work cleaned up after themselves. Everything worked out very well and would not hesitate to reach out to him again for additional work

He is coming back to do something that he said he will come back to do. His company is on the other side of town.

Bill Keys was very professional and communicated extremely well from initial contact/proposal through and after the installation.  Bill was very helpful with educating me on the epoxy products and process and made great recommendations for our space.  Bill and his team were right on time and got right to work preparing the garage floor.  They checked in with me throughout the epoxy application and provided helpful information about drying times and when to resume use of the garage.  Overall the communications were excellent and the process went very smoothly.  I commend Bill and his team for providing great service to their customers.  Thank you!
