Handled promptly and very professionally. Company owner Bill McHugh had done the whole roof replacement 18 years ago and it still is standing tall in all respects.

Bill came out and provided an accurate quote with short notice and got his crew on the job within a week. The team leader Jesus knew his stuff and orchestrated quality work, adapting to the conditions of my 1964 house and creatively solving problems. He listened to my concerns and addressed them but also gave me feedback. Bill joined his crew at the completion of the work to examine and wrap it all up, getting into the work himself. Keyway aims for quality workmanship and followed through.

The initial installation was fine except they removed my gutter helmet instead of me getting them done by gutter helmet. They then reinstalled them and the gutters never worked right after that. My roof leaked within a year and they were so unresponsive to my calls. It took them more than a month to come out and they said it was repaired. It leaked again. And I had to paint my ceiling again. It then took two more months of no return calls and they came out and said it was fixed again and it wasn't. I finally gave up with them as they were just horrible. I can honestly say I have never had a worse experience with a contractor. I am ok with mistakes but when you simply ignore me, ten or more times and do not fulfill your promises I am done with you. Just terrible!

I have an old style roof, but was assured by BTR they had worked on this type of roof in the past.  Price quoted seemed very high, and when I asked, they told me it was because they had to warranty their work.  First fix attempt failed.  Called them, and they returned to try again.  Second attempt also failed.  When called back they said "we've done the best we could, your roof is too old and needs to be replaced."  Given that repair wasn't successful, I requested a refund or partial refund of monies paid, but was rudely rebuked.  "We did the best we could, no warranty" was what I was told several times. <br />

I contacted BTR Roofing based on Angie's List Ratings, my experience with them was awful. Every deadline was missed, I can't count how many returned phone calls were missed, and how long it took to complete the work. They came out finally to complete the work and only did half of it, then the first time it rained the repair leaked. I called and they said thy would come the next week to redo the roof work and install the gutters, which once again they didn't make the commitment. I then called the next week to ask if I should just call another company to do the work, and they sent someone the next day. <br /> Once the work was complete they were very fast in their follow up to get paid, much, much faster than any interest in actually completing the work. Terrible experience, poor customer service. <br />

As owners of an 1880s home on the National Historic Registry, we are required to maintain the home to certain standards. When the original metal roof was in need of this maintenance, we checked around and hired BTR Construction and Roofing to do the service by applying an elastomeric coating to the roof. Days after completing the job, it was brought to our attention that a section of the metal roofing had not been treated. When the company rep was contacted, the response was that they did the section they were supposed to do and we're not going to do the rest, unless we paid extra; that they had not been asked to do nor, contracted to do that section, even though we wanted all of the original surface treated and that this is definitely part of the original surface. The contract specified that it was to include coating the "existing metal roof." Their reason was that this section was about a two foot drop-down from what they called the upper main roof. This, even though they did do the section that is about two feet above the this so-termed upper main roof. <br /> <br />When we are required to maintain the entire roof to standards, it is unbelievable to think that we would want this small original section over the kitchen excluded. It is also inconceivable that this was not even questioned or pointed out by the company rep prior to doing the job. <br /> <br />In addition, the install team sealed up and removed the substantial amount of coating material rather than leaving it, even though we were charged an additional $300 up charge to match the color, as required by the Historical Commission. My guess is that way they could use it for someone else's job. <br /> <br />Finally, even though the contract gives the mailing address to send payment on completion, the company rep called the afternoon they completed the job and insisted that they come by the following morning and pick up the check. Be aware, that if you want to pay by credit card, there is a 4% surcharge of which there is no mention any where in the paperwork. <br /> <br />

Perfect.  The work was performed as scheduled and on budget.  We had insurance coverage due to hail damage.  They worked with us so we could have insurance coverage approved.  The work was beautiful and professional.  Clean-up went well. <br />

The work could have been done by one person in less than 4 hours. They had the owner who did very little and another guy who did some really poor quality work. They both stayed for 6 hours and charged me an extra 75.00 per person per hour. So I had to pay $750 plus the cost of the deal which was an additional $150 for work that really could have been done for about $300 tops. They people were I had deal with were extremely rude and beligerant. I hope to never deal with them ever again. <br />

BTR installed our roof about seven years ago and did a good job. They responded to a prior skylight leak several years ago with no problems. The work they do is good quality. This time, we had to call several times to get a response. They came out and contracted to replace the skylight and we paid them. Since then it was been almost four weeks. They have not responded to our calls. We have had three more heavy rains and ongoing leaks. We asked for a tarp, but they said "someone would look at it." <br />

Great, we have used them before and will use them again.

<p>Substandard work by BTR Construction! Painters made a mess and needed them to come back a second and third time to clean up and redo areas that didn't cover well the first time. Additionally, the floors they had painted all came undone one month into the pool season. When I called to ask about a warranty on the work I got handed from one person to another. When asked why no one would call me back I was repeatedly given an excuse of "there has been turnover in the company". When I finally did get in touch with the owner, he came out, looked at the work and said he'd get back with me. It's been two months and I've heard nothing from them. I called every other day but no one cares to call back.</p> <p>At this point, I've accepted that I will not get BTR to come back and help resolve the issue. I'd be cautious of using this company. They get an D in my book for their overall work and ensuring customer satisfaction!</p> <p><br /></p> <br />

We were not pleased with BTR.  They came to our house 4 times - and never on time.  Even when we had a set appointment, they called and said they were on their way (on an earlier date/time than scheduled).  I rushed home two times when I didn't have time.  The roof rot was only partially done.  What was done was done well.  However, there were additional areas of rot that I was led to believe would be done in the quote that were not.  Additionally, the railing was a mess.  The top of the railing on my deck was pieced together like a puzzle - when they should have been a long piece of wood.  One area, they made a wrong cut (on the wrong angle ) but just flipped it over and cut it the other way.  It looked like someone did it who had never done this before.  <br /> I made a phone call and Bill came out to inspect the work.  He said it would be fixed and he would send a crew.  I asked them how they would know what to do.  He said he would be there to supervise.  The crew returned, but not Bill. They fixed the railings and that was fine.  But they told me they were not authorized to finish the wood rotted dormers.  I called Bill.  No answer and no return calls after calling him twice.  I called the company three times.  They told me they would call me back.  No calls back and no finishing the job they were paid to do.  I have given them lots of time to respond back before writing the review.  VERY DISAPPOINTED.  It was unprofessional start to finish. <br /> <br /> <br />

Went very well. We had a shingle that had become loose and was sliding from the roof. We called BTR and they were able to schedule for the next day. Bill came out at the agreed time and was able to fix the shingle quickly. He also noticed another that appeared to be loose and fixed it as well. He looked over the area of roof we asked him to check and said it looked good other than a couple of nails that needed to be refastened. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />We felt BTR was prompt, and did what we asked them to do courteously and professionally. We will certainly call on them again for roofing and handyman services. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />We have always considered BTR a roofing company, but are glad to hear they are in the handyman service field as well. <br />

Bill was very professional. They installed a roof for me in 2013 and I knew then I would use them again.  They are very professional and courteous.  They explained everything in detail and followed-up. They also did a great job cleaning up after the work was completed. Most recently, I have used BTR for repair and "handyman" work. I had the same experience with them.  I would use them again. <br />
