Very well. They gave me an honest estimate of the condition of the roof and a fair estimate for some minor repair (approx $400). I was happy that the fix could be done for such a modest price. Easy to work with and job done well.

They did a really nice job. They took a little longer, but they did a good job. They were responsive to concerns and always kept me in the loop as far as decisions.

Job was professionally done from bid thru cleanup. Experienced roofing crew found and repaired damage that was concealed at time of bid. These guys know their business. Dennis King came out and checked with us over the weekend prior to the job being commenced ( we did tear off). I will use this company again.

Dennis was nice to work with. He was professional, and did a great job explaining everything. I've had other roofs repaired and replaced, but repairing a tile roof was a first. When I called around for bids, there were not a lot of roofing contractors who would repair tile. The kind of tile used on the house is discontinued. To repair the roof, I had to wait for replacement tiles to be available from the tear off of another tile roof that was being replaced. Dennis explained that the chimney flashing needed repaired, AND the moss buildup in the roof valley was directing water right to the chimney. He explained his approach to scheduling roofs and repairs to me (first in, first out). A few of the other reviewers have grumbled about this, but I found it to be reasonable. I had no problems. The roof is repaired, clean, and looks a lot nicer. The price was fair. I'd hire him again.

See that they have a B rating.Have seen other roofing jobs in my neighborhood of companies with A ratings whose work doesn't compare.If you want a company who treats your house,your plants and your property like it was their own home then hire King and King.Every step of the process was done professionally with the greatest of care in consultation with me at all times.They took a little longer maybe than some companies but when you first priority is your customers peace of mind than it is worth it.First rate job cleaned up everyday and on the final clean up they actually pressured washed my 8 car driveway which I never expected.I must say I have a real problem with Angies list when I see a company like King and King with a B rating.A+ A+ A+ all the way <br />

They were exceptional; very thorough, professional and efficient.

We decided on the standard Hardi Plank siding. The project went very smoothly. The employees were friendly and professional. Mr. Dennis King does not subcontract any of his work. The employees who did the work for us were obviously experienced and one I know has twenty years at this work. What really amazed me was the detail work they did.  They went above and beyond my expectations. They wrapped the house in the newest product.  They caulked in areas I would not have expected. They trimmed areas I would not have expected and even replaced a short piece of gutter that was not their responsibility to do.  They cleaned up after themselves each day and made sure that our gates and fences were secure for our dogs before leaving each night.</p> <p>  After the work was completed we had an issue with one of our outside lights that had been taken off in order to put the siding up.  Mr. King had the light fixed promptly.</p> <p>We have now used King and King twice (roof and siding) in both cases we were not disappointed.  All work was done above my expectations.</p> <br />

I arrived home after being away (since before the recent deluge started) to a wet interior wall. I knew I needed to get someone to come out immediately to find the leak and repair the roof. I called King & King's 24-hour number late at night (I apologize for that, as I got him out of bed) and Dennis of King & King assured me he would get a roofer  out as soon as it was light, even though it was Sunday. He did. <br /> The work  went quickly. Jerry  located the problems (see below), and was done in an hour. Since this was the second repair for the same problem (first repairs by another company), I am thrilled. <br /> The interior wall is already starting to dry off (confirmed Monday morning) and I may have caught it before the dry wall was damaged. I hope so. <br /> The roof was originally put on by Mid-Valley Building in September 2012 and still under warranty when it developed a leak in March 2014. The company has closed, but the bonded owner remained responsible. It took several days for him to get a crew to us and I now realize they did not fix the problem, they just benefited from the fact that it stopped raining. New drywall was finally done in August. This was very well done, but by a different company than the roof repair. <br /> On our own (with my brother, the Industrial Arts [shop] Teacher helping) we replaced the sill board under the wall where the leak had been and replaced damaged shingles. We thought we were done with the water problems on that roof. We weren't. <br /> King & King's roofer found the problems easily. Jerry found several serious errors in the installation of the original roof. The Mid-Valley crew had installed 4 shingles tiles with the nails below the nail line (I have retained these shingles). Mid-valley failed to remove all staples, and at least one had worked through shingles leaving places for water to seep in. They also had failed to trim the starter shingle row down to just above the nail line, which led to cupping on the roof right where there were some of the incorrectly positioned nails. These errors created pathways through the shingles and into the interior. One other issue with the installation did not seem to be contributing to the leak. King & King pointed out that Mid-Valley had used 1&1/2 inch by 1&1/2 inch flashing on the gutter edge, rather than the standard of 1&1/2 inch by 3 inch above gutters. This did not seem to be part of the leak problem to Jerry. <br /> King & King correctly identified the issues and rapidly fixed the problems. Sunday morning's light drizzle did not slow them down. Jerry pulled out the rusty nails and staples on the 4 shingles where the nails were below the nail line. He trimmed the starter shingles where they were now open before recovering the roof. He replaced the 4 damaged shingles and 2 others that had to be remove. And he caulked nail heads under shingles that were not replaced but under which nails had been removed to install the new shingle tiles. He was fast and efficient. <br /> Having competent work done is very important to us. King & King provided the competent work I expect. I plan to put them first on my list to call for any other building jobs in the future. I especially have no problem recommending King & King to others who need emergency roof aid. <br />

When installing roofing at lower edge of dormer wall, there was step flashing to be placed for a proper seal.  The existing siding had to be cut.  Rather than making a short cut just into the siding, they managed to cut through both the siding and all the way through studs and sheet rock on the interior living space.  I had a single female living in this apartment who was completely startled to find this damage in her bathroom.  The roofer had managed to make this deep cut over a distance of several feet.  It was a big mess and a huge inconvenience for both me (the owner) and my tenant.  I decided to repair the interior myself, so that my tenant wouldn't have to deal with the hassle of unknown persons coming into her living space.  Repairing drywall is a multi-step process, requiring several trips over a period of several days.  Even though there had been a "hold back" from the total cost of the job, it did not cover the time and materials, plus a small "inconvenience fee" I asked King & King to pay directly to the tenant.  I submitted an invoice to the company, but they only paid a portion of it, complaining that they could have had it done cheaper.  I think they still owe me somewhere around $100.  Recently, while doing some maintenance in the attic of this building, I noticed that I could see daylight through this newer roof section at a point where it meets the gable.  I will be contacting the company about this.  <br />

Didn't show up on the day of appt.  I contacted and set up another appointment.  When I got home on that day, there was a note that said access was unsafe on one side of the house and so that side wasn't done.  (?)  No indication about condition of gutters, even though "inspection" was one of the listed services.  I contacted afterwards to ask about the condition and the report was everything was "fine", but I knew for a fact that one section in particular was not "fine".   Poor communication and follow through, I thought. <br />

The transaction went very well. Dennis was very responsive and kept me informed of repairs every step of the way. I never felt like he was trying to over charge or over sell.  At the beginning he purchased four sheets of plywood for the repairs and only charged me for the two he used.  His men were here bright and early and the job was completed in a very reasonable time, even though we had an unseasonably heavy rain storm as soon as the old roof was removed. Because of the rain, a couple minor repairs had to be made, which were taken care of immediately at no extra charge.   <br /> Dennis was always professional and knowledgeable. He explained all the attributes of the materials and their warranties.  The job was reasonably cleaned up at the end of each day and there was very little disruption to our normal lives. <br />

They were very professional.  Unfortunately it was really hot at this time last year, and so they could only work in the mornings because they would ruin the roof that they had gotten on there when it was too hot.  So we had them here probably for a good week or more, which was okay.  They did a wonderful job.  We spent between $9000 and $10000 for their services.  They came everyday and cleaned up after themselves.  They took everything with them.  They hunted for the nails or anything that was dropped.  So we really didn’t have much to clean up at all, except the occasional piece here and there.  So that was good.  We have a warranty on the roof and so hopefully we won’t use them for this house again.  We haven’t had any leaks so far.

They quickly replied to our request for an estimate and gave us two options. After deciding, they fit us in ahead of schedule. The crew were very professional and Dennis communicated with us very well. We had some issues with our property management and Dennis stayed on top of it for us. The crew cleaned up when they left and our yard and landscaping were not impacted. We would certainly recommend King and King. <br /> L & R Wolfe <br />
