"Clients with bad intentions lie on contractors and dont like to pay, even when the contractor has done evrything (according to contract and state laws) right. 1st This was a 1st time buyer contract between Hud, the bank, her husband and her mother- in law in Newark, Nj. Apparently, Pauline did not have the credit or did not want to be apart of the loan. Kish construction still treated Ms Pauline as our client. Her husband solicited Kish Construction because the contractor he hired initially did not have the proper insurance and license to close the loan ( which contributedto slowing down the time consteuction time frame. Although Kish fought tooth and nails to get them a higher amout, we were skeptical about moving forward with the project because they were only approved for a budget of 58k with intense renovations that needed to be renovated andbrought to code before they can move in. We decided to work with her husband and bring the electrical to code which was $23.3k, Kitchen cabinets for $10.2k, 5 Basement windows at $2,500, Cracked Concrete sidewalk at $4,750, Cracked garage wall at $750, Gutters at $125, Ceramic floors and backsplash in 2 kitchens and 2 bathrooms at $8200 and finally a Clean up and removal cost of only 5k. Paulines husband and mother- law ( who we never met or spoke to) did have a 10% contingency wich was around 8k which they decided to use in 4 bedrooms ( 2 on each floor) for new sheetrock. The ext bedrm walls were wood paneled so we removed and replaced 4 bedrooms with plaster and compound for 7k. Pauline husband was instructed, in order to close the renovation contract with hud , other items will need to be addressed such as painting all walls, sanding all wood floors, replacing non operating doors and installing baseboards. Paulines husband agreed to have these items complete by the time Kish was done with Contracted items. Besides Newark taking more that 6mo to aprove permits and inspections ( which we had no control over), all inspections were eventually passed and approved. Pauline and her husband did buy baseboards which Kish installed for free. We also installed pantry floors for free. Paulins husband did not have money to sand his floors or paint his walls at the end of our renovations. Pauline and I were cordial through out the renovation process until the end. After the hud inspector inspected the home, Kish was paid by the bank for all contracted completed items and Pauline and her husband was not allowed to move in. Pauline blamed this on Kish. Toward the ending of Kish renovations, Pauline became hostile and aggressively name calling because she couldnt move in. Apparently, they were behind on there mortgage ( which they still had to pay during construction) and couldnt come together and paint their own walls and sand their own floors. Her and her husband wanted Kish to paint and sand floors for free which we declined -And is the sole reason why she submitted this untruthful review. Kish Construction values our customers needs and will continue to serve all our clients with professionalism and quality work. Please check our website at www.
