We did not receive the design after multiple emails. They work was not done as outlined in the coupon. Specifically, there were no drawings as it was specified in the deal.

I had purchased a big deal for the service. I had purchased it as a gift for my daughter. The guy came out and everything was fine, except that the estimate he gave was more than my daughter had budgeted. My daughter was happy that they discussed it with somebody, but they haven't gone ahead with the remodelling.

Best contractor one could find?Sean Carlstrom and Jerry Williams did all work, themselves, except for drywall, spackling, and granite fabrication and installation. The construction industry recognizes three grades of quality, Good, Better, and Best. Carlstrom does only ?Best.?

I got three estimates. The first was ?Good? in that the contractor wanted to install his standard kitchen on a cost plus basis. The second was ?Better? in that the contractor wanted to do all work, himself, in accordance with our wishes but seemed to lack a full understanding of the scope of the job. Only estimator Jim Sittler and owner Sean Carlstrom were able to grasp the full scope of our project and give us a fair bid for ?Best? quality. They did this with a firm contract.
Carlstrom referred to the plans consistently and never varied. If a question cropped up, they asked and complied with the decision with no sign of resistance or anxiety.
Kitchen Visions - Carlstrom Construction LLC were too expensive to go forward with the work. In the end, I was going to have to buy my own tile. It was really a lot of money. It was like $25,000.00. They're do a lot of custom work and I didn't realize that, like custom cabinets. They tried to sell me custom cabinets and all that. But he was a very nice man. I won't be using them because they're so expensive.

It did not turn out well for us. They were obviously too busy to do a good job. They did not address any of our needs. They pushed us in a certain direction. I was not happy with them at all. When they left, I said that I could not deal with them. I was interested in the quote that they gave us. It did not have a list of any expenses. I just did not like their approach. They did not seem to be professional. I was very uncomfortable with them. They wanted me to do most of the work, ask the questions and call them. However, I did get an idea of what I am going to do, because the price is too high. They just went through what was the best thing for me. I did ask them for two things; what if we kept one part of the kitchen the same, what would it cost me and if we tore it down what would it cost me. They just ignored that. I did not have any more time to deal with them; I was not impressed with them to start with. I just paid for the big deal. I am very busy and do not have time to start another task. I would not use them again.

The job went remarkably well. Sean and Jerry are masters at what they do and very creative at solving the inevitable issues that crop up in any remodel. They priced our extras reasonably and the result is spectacular. We would recommend them highly, you'll be happy with their work. Their estimation process is fair and payment schedule is reasonable and gated by the work as it is finished.
In my opinion, you should read the contacts carefully. Make sure the project manager is onsite, or available, when question arise. Jim Sittler was manager, but he had family emergency; he was not available to us. We did not know if the information that was given to us was being relayed correctly. They left job when it was 95% complete. We had to hire someone else to come and repair their work. There was also one thing that also bothered us too. We referred a friend to them. However, when our friend met with them, all they did was complain about us to our friends. This was not very professional. They kept tell our friend that we underpaid for the work that they did.

I've had same company do my kitchen remodel in previous house and was very pleased with that job, as well. Sean had me pick out the flooring and granite so it was exactly what I wanted-he was very easy to work with. The bid was made and he stayed in my budget. The work area was kept cleaned up after each day's work and the work was completed on time. I highly recommend Kitchen Visions/Carlstrom Construction for any remodel work needed. Workmanship is excellent-I enjoy all the compliments form my friends.
WoHigh quality

They eventually got the job done. Their price and quality was good. Their punctuality was a problem because we had a lawyer involved. They were in breach of contract. Overall, it was a painful experience.

Colton came out several times to scope out the project details and provide a bid, both with and without cabinets included. After I gathered seven, we decided to hire Carlstrom Construction/Kitchen Visions for the whole job with the exception of the countertop fabrication and install (done through a Costco deal with another company). I had a tight timeline to meet so we worked quickly to establish decisions on cabinetry and a start date.

After the cabinets were built in Sean's shop, Sean and Jerry came out to do the remodel in our kitchen. The work went quickly and efficiently on the days when they had everything they needed. They were flexible and accommodating as I had questions and concerns. Thoughtfulness and attention to detail in their workmanship are noticeable in the finished work. I also especially appreciated it when Jerry needed to pop upstairs to check on some connected plumbing and took the care to remove his shoes since we're a no-shoes household. That, along with Sean's ideas and feedback as we spoke during the course of the project displayed their care and experience in delivering great results.

Some delays on materials (cabinet fronts, flooring) came up but they still completed the work within a day of when we needed the kitchen to be completed. There were also a few surprises (lighting didn't quite illuminate the new peninsula so I hired an electrician to put in pendants this week, some cabinets had less usable space than we expected) All things considered, this project went relatively smoothly. We ran several thousand over budget, but it was completed well. Even with some hiccups from the counter top installation delay and flooring delays, they were able to work swiftly to get everything done. At one point, we realized our large stand mixer wouldn't fit on the new counters because of the valance to accommodate under-cabinet lights or on any of the new slide-out pantry shelves. Sean was very flexible about lowering the drawer guides a few inches even though it was already in so we appreciated it.

It's only been a week now, but we're definitely enjoying our new kitchen. Some adhesive smells are still lingering so they're continuing to be aired out and I'm still finding sawdust film on cabinet surfaces (and everywhere in the garage), but we're otherwise quite happy with the completion of our kitchen. As I've been gradually reorganizing the space in the kitchen, I actually found that a few more shelves would be helpful. When I mentioned this to Sean on a short visit to tie up loose logistical ends, he even offered to make the two shelves for me. Overall, they are focused on making sure we got what we needed for the kitchen and making sure we're satisfied.

Overall, Carlstrom Construction does great work are a pleasure to work with for any of your remodeling needs. We will definitely keep them in mind for any major remodel projects we would like to tackle in the future.

Sean and Jerry did an outstanding job on all parts of the project. We absolutely love the cabinets and the updates to all the bathrooms. During construction, they made extra effort to contain dust etc, to help minimize the impact to us. We have two active Huskies, and we really appreciated they relaxed way they accommodated these two members of our family!
I really appreciated Sean and Jerry's commitment to making our remodel experience a good one. Their excellent work and freindly manor means I will definitely recommend them to friends!

I have used this company before and was very happy with the workmanship in the past. Care was taken to keep the job surrounding area clean. The remodel was completed on time and we were never inconvienced. I recieved helpful advice on the choices made for tile design. We are very peased with our new beautiful bathroom! We highly recommend this company for quality job performance.

This could not have been a more pleasant experience. Sean is always on an even keel, highly focused, attentive to detail, full of useful suggestions when the design ran into unexpected problems, and a superb craftsman. He dealt with City of Bellevue permits and inspectors with calm patience, despite their tardiness and contradictory opinions. When the work of his subs failed to meet his standards, he had them back in harness until they got it right. The only glitch was in the beginning, as his standard contract was not adequate for either of us; I paid to have a proper contract executed by his attorney. This was a small fraction of the total cost and well worthwhile for us. I would (and will) hire Sean for future projects in an instant.

I think it went very well, and I am pleased with my new home. The time estimate of six weeks was accurate, and the budget went about a thousand dollars over, which I thought was not bad for such an extensive project. Since I did not opt to hire a designer for this remodel, that meant that Sean and I had to spend many hours talking about the options and possibilities. Moving a whole wall (and a wet wall at that) was a big decision, and involved having a special steel beam fabricated for the arch where the wall had been. Sean was very generous with his time in explaining what cabinets were available and how they would be organized. I really wanted a computer assisted drawing of what the new kitchen would look like, and although he doesn't have that capability in his shop, he went out and had it done, which helped my decision making greatly. He also managed to find a great deal on very attractive counter tops and a new sink, saving me a whole lot of money. When he gave me his first estimate for the work, and I found it was more than I could afford, he went back to the drawing board and creatively worked out a way for me to have a good looking and functional quality kitchen that would fit my budget.

Sean and his helper were extremely careful and their standards of quality are very high, which was a real plus for me, as I don't want corners cut on work done at my home. They were both willing to keep at any task until the result was perfect. It was clear that my satisfaction was a high priority for them. Many times they both went the extra mile, cheerfully and with good humor. They were very nice to my little dog, who was a bit upset at having his world turned upside down. By the time the job was over they felt like family and it was hard to say goodbye.

I would definitely use Sean again for any job, large or small. I highly recommend him.

The person who did the estimate (but none of the work) was very clear and spent a lot of time answering my questions when he was here and over email later. He also helped me with a problem that came up later (see below). The two men who did the work were punctual, they cleaned up each day, and stuck to the original schedule of work (even though they did more than they expected to do). They worked with me to find solutions to unexpected problems that came up as they broke into the old wall. The finished shower and wall are beautiful, and I know from watching the daily progress that they are solidly and competently built. There were two small problems at the end of the job. One was the new dry wall texture did not match the old wall texture in the bathroom, and after talking to the contractor about that, I decided that I could live with it. The second was a manufacturer's flaw in the new tub that I did not see until a week after the job was completed. When I said something to the contractors, they promptly hired a tub reglazer to fix the problem (at no further cost to me). This was a very professional and highly appreciated response.

We were very hesitant to start our bathroom project due to our previous contractor experience, which to say the least was not very positive. We contacted Sean who came out very promptly to do a bid. My goal was to find a contractor who could do all the different facets of the job. I was thrilled when Sean said he could do the installation of all aspects of the job. Yeah...no more subs! We decided to go with Sean because his price seemed fair, his previous experience and his knowledge of woodworking, tiling etc. He also asked very detailed questions during our inital visit which told me he knew what he was doing. Sean began the job exactly on the date he said he would and finished at the approximate date he said he would. He stuck with our job from the beginning to the end which was a dream come true. During the whole process, Sean stayed very focused and calm, even when unexpected problems arose, which was very important to me. In addition, he was thoughtful about protecting our wood floors and using dust control methods. The project involved Sean working with us on a cabinet and vanity design since we were looking for something custom, building a whirlpool tub deck and tub setting, tiling, plumbing, and hanging and trimming out a pocket door. Sean did a beautiful job and we are thrilled to have it done!
