K+ Karpentry LLC

<p>As was expected, Mr. Frisbee showed up for work for four days at approximately the time he had said.. Generally he worked right along for about 3 1/2 days to "complete" the work. Granted, his business title includes the word Karpentry, but I was under the impression from discussion about the job that he had quite a bit of experience with painting. His price to do the work was about $500 less than the painters estimates I received. Since the job was not terribly difficult, I hired him. </p> <p>He did a good job repairing some wallpaper and removing some border. Other than that, though, really no preparation was done for the walls.. For example, a bathroom that had been painted in a semi-gloss was not sanded, etc.. </p> <p>My biggest problems with his work were twofold. First, after alerting him that I had already freshly painted the doors and trim, he would not use any painter's tape to protect them even though I provided tape for him to use. I spent  hours having to repaint areas that use of tape would have prevented me from having to do. Also, no tape was used to paint accent walls in two of the rooms. I ended up repainting the edges of the walls after taping them myself. Secondly, although I used the formula provided by Lowes to purchase the correct amount of paint for the job, and although he said he did a second coat everywhere, I seemed to have bought about twice the amount used. I doubt the paint was really applied as it should have been. Brush marks from his "cutting in" are visible in many places. Roller marks as well.</p> <p>Look, he will come up with all the reasons in the world about how I am being unfair, or whatever. The truth is that his standard of quality for a well done job is simply not very high. Shortly after he finished up about noon on the fourth day and left the "finished" job, I walked into the master bedroom, looked up at a wall that suddenly had developed a crack leading from a heating vent downward about 18-20 inches. A wall he had put a second coat on that morning. I repaired the crack myself and repainted the area. Just as I ended up putting another coat of paint in the master bath, because the job was so poorly done. </p> <p>In summary, there are times one gets what one pays for. I can tell you that there is no way I would pay him to do any work here again. It is worth the extra money to hire someone for a little more and get a quality job done in the first place.</p> <p><br /></p> <p>There are also times that someone does not get what one pays for. I sure wish we had seen the earlier comment about the fraud he perpetrated on them involving window replacement. We ended up in the same boat, and after months of inaction we have now turned it over to the legal authorities. I paid the provider for the materials to complete this project and then he has never showed up for three separate appointments.  I called my bank to have the check stopped but he had already cashed this check for the work that he never completed.

We bought a new home (9 yrs old but new to us) and we wanted a fresh coat of paint on the ceiling, wall and trim before we moved in.  Kris from the getgo was quick to respond, quick to come out to give us an estimate and he graciously fit us into our schedule to get the painting done before the moving truck came. <br /> We are extremely pleased with the painting and any little thing that I noticed he fixed or touched up immediately. He stands by his work 100% and is conscientious, respectful and trustworthy contractor. <br /> He is now working on a remodel project for us in the basement and I will update Angieslist with a review when that project is completed. <br /> Don't hesitate to call Kris - K+Karpentry LLC for your painting and remodeling needs! <br />

details above, we are still waiting for installation but have used K & K for other jobs within the home, so I trust them and they do good work.  We plan on using them to install wood flooring in the fall. <br />

<p>Kris is very proficient in all types of work that is stated on his description.  He is very friendly, knowledgeable, and explains everything in detail.  He showed up within 20 min of appointment and said it would take 1 1/2 hr. and it did.  He thoroughly inspected and repaired all areas of the basement.</p> <p> We talked to him about installing wood flooring, he was informative and explained everything we needed to do and suggested choices and a place that sells the product.  We will definitely call Kris within the next 3 months to have our livingroom, hallway, and master bedroom installed with good wood flooring.  We are very impressed with Kris and would advise the public to use him for any kind of contracting, he knows it all!</p> <p>Jean and Dave Smith, Farmington NY</p> <br />

He was punctual.  We reviewed the job together and then if he found anything additional then we discussed. The second time was something last minute and he was able to come over right away. He was very responsive. 

 We had originally contacted Kris for a roof repair and ceiling damage estimate and with that asked for a new metal roof estimate. He Graciously provided a very reasonable estimate. We recieved other companies estimates but decided to go with Kris. Weather delayed the start but when he arrived to do the job it was completed right on schedule. Being an older house with issues when he was finished we were very pleased. As he came across the big issues he promptly let us know about them so we could decide how to take care of them.Small issues he just took care of. Minor things my husband said he would do Kris gave him some pointers to help. With doing the extra work he still finished when promised. He is a hands on professional and he and his helpers worked quickly and efficiently. When they were done my yard looked liked they were never there. Our dogs were even well behaved while they were here(miracle) and as they had to work in the fenced yard for them they were very careful about closing the gates. I will definately contact Kris for more work on my house in the future. <br />

They were prompt and worked efficiently. Would do business with again!  Highly recommended! <br />

Was on time.  Met estimate.  Did the work himself, with the assistance of a helper.  A top notch contractor.  Highly recommended. <br />

They were on time, knew what needed to be done and did it. We did not question their work at any point. We were pleased we had a nice job done.

The job went very well andvery smooth, along the way we found some rotten plywood and sill plates which kris brought to our attention and then were replaced along the way.  Im glad that these things were done right this time around as the last company that did work for us has nowhere the knowledge that kris did.  Also my husband and I were able to work well with kris on everything that was being changed or replaced as Kris kept saying to us that " This is your home and lets make it the way you want it so you are happy for years to come".  We just wanted to say thank you K+KARPENTRY for all your hard work and we are looking foward to having you return on our next project. <br />

Kris came to my home on 7/23/2012 and look at the 2 jobs that I wanted done. He was given a deposit of $700.00. He was suppose to start work on 7/27, he never showed up or called. On 7/28 he returned my numerous calls and said that he would start work on 7/30. He showed up at 7 am. Kris and his help worked for about 8 hrs. He returned the following day (7/31) 7 am and worked to about 2 pm. I paid him for the remainder of the work to be done, $989.00. he said that he would need one more day to complete the job because the joint compound needs 24 hrs to dry between applications and he would finish up the next day. Then it would be paint ready. Kris never showed up and has not returned any of my calls.

Ok - had to call back - not pleased with quality - He came back quickly and fixed problem.

Excellent and very professional

Excellent, I couldn't be happier.  Kris and his crew were very professional, on time, clean and polite.  He has so much knowledge with just about any kind of carpentry.   He finished the job a week ahead of schedule.  I am very delighted and have already asked him to build a new garage for me.

Overall it didn't go well because they took our money and never came back to finish the work. We feel scammed and they won't respond back to us or answer our phone calls. Now we are having to pay someone else to come back and finish the work that we paid them to do. Don't go with this company!! <br /> <br />

Kris is great with his communication with us as we arranged services and were traveling from out of town. He was cooperative and helpful with our decisions and our project was completed within our timeline.

Did a fine job.  Was competent and efficient.  Showed up for estimate on time, and showed up to do job on time.  <br /> <br /> Called other people and some were not reliable, for example one provided estimate but didn't show up to do job and didn't answer his phone!
