Klyns Tree Service Inc

We used Klyn's Tree Service in the fall of 2016 to take down two ash trees. As other reviewers have noted, these guys were the lowest cost around. That time, they did a great job. Work was scheduled promptly, they showed up on time, worked hard and came back the next day to finish cleanup and hauling some large trunks away, So, this year, when we decided to take down a monster ash tree near our house, there was no hesitation in hiring them. However, the experience was not so good this time. The day they were initially scheduled to arrive 9:00-9:30 am, I got a call at 11 am to let me know their truck broke down, was in the shop and rescheduled for the following day, again with a 9-9:30 start. OK, stuff happens - I get it - but, warning bells should have gone off when it took until 11am to call. Day 2, part of the crew showed up around 10:30am and said one of the owners was on his way with the truck. They did a little prep work and then waited ... and, waited. The owner with truck finally showed up around 2pm. Tree came down quickly, and they began to cut up, chip and haul the wood away. It was a very hot day and the entire crew worked hard. Due to the late start, they ran out of daylight and indicated they'd be back the next day to finish up. Day 3, the two owners did show up and completed clean up of the debris from the tree. However ... Here's where things went very badly. Because of the location of the tree, my neighbor graciously allowed the crew to use his yard for access. Understandably, with driving the truck over his lawn and hauling the wood away, his lawn was torn up in a few places. They also moved a large outdoor swing to avoid damage to it (seemed like a cautious and responsible thing to do). They said they would move the swing back and toss some seed down on the spots they roughed up. The guys seemed very polite and conscientious about it and my neighbor and I were both happy. At this point, the guys indicated they needed to stop at another job and would be back later in the afternoon to do the seeding, move the swing, and finish trimming the remaining trees in our yard (maybe 1-2 hours of work total). Here's where I made my big mistake - I paid them nearly all of the total cost. In my defense, I didn't pay them 100% and, based on my experience with them, had no reason to believe they wouldn't come back to finish. Well, they didn't come back that day or the next (Sunday). I called Monday - my call wasn't returned. I called on Tuesday, and one of the owners happened to answer. He said they hadn't forgotten us and would be there in the next day or two. No one showed up. I called every day and left voice mail messages (sometimes more than once) for two weeks. I tried texting. No response from them at all. So, while I will not hire them again because of this experience, the advice I'd give to others is this: They will cut down your trees at the lowest cost around and do good work. But, do not pay them a single penny until the work, including cleanup, is done completely and to your satisfaction. That is what I should have done.

Work was performed as requested....clean up was exceptionally well done.

It was expensive. They were huge trees. It probably cost, because they were large. They were lower than other people/other estimates. They changed the date for us. They were supposed to come; my husband took off and they didn?t come. They were late or delayed. There were some issues, they left branches in the way back of the yard, that weren?t cleared, some branches. The cost was big.  <br /> <br /> If we needed a crane, they handled that. Our property boarders a school, so they cleared everything with the school, to go onto their property. It was detailed like that. They handled that and they repaired any grass on the school property that the crane might have disturbed. It was a big job.

GREAT. cleaned up debris, ground it up and then cleaned up the area of leaves, small branches, and sawdust.

The communication was a little off-and-on, but the quoted priced was absolutely incomparable to the other two I received... it was low enough that I had to confirm on two separate occasions that  Klynn's knew the tree I was talking about and not a smaller one on the other side of the lawn. They might not have a flashy website or hundreds of reviews, but they have the necessary insurance (which is a must, of course) and the end product was exactly what I'd hope for, and for less. Would definitely use them again. <br />

Trimmed a River Birch tree in my front yard. Removed one large limb & trimmed the remainder of the tree. Trimmed 3 Sycamore trees in my backyard that were much too low to the ground. Also trimmed one maple tree for no additional cost. Cleaned up all the trimmings and leaves, and left the yard in the same condition as before they came. Good clean-up! They did everything they were supposed to do, and did it well. Would use their services again. <br />
