They responded back to me very quickly when I called them. They came out to do an estimate like the next day or it might have been the same day. He explained how to fix the problem, what they were going to do, and gave me the price. It seemed fair to me so I went ahead and had it done. They came out when they said they were going to come. They did exactly what they said they were going to do and it worked. So, I was very happy. I would tell others that they charge a fair price. They are professional and you can trust their work. The quality of the work was fine. He solved my problem. I have dealt with a lot of contractors and this guy is the real deal.

There was something that was in the drain so that when water was going in one direction it would be fine but if there there was something down the disposal it would flip it and the it would have a clog and they cleared that. They were straight forward, they got the job done proficiently and professionally.

RUN...Jon the owner promised the world...and delivered little...we have a house that needed extensive work...once he got paid he would not show up for days on end...when he did show up it was every other day or he would send someone else...once again RUN...so now we have a home with five new toilets and plumbing...new plumbing to several showers...holes in walls...did i say RUN AWAY??? no working laundry...I will admit several faucets were replaced as planned....and we paid out $16,000...does not respond to calls or texts...we will see how he responds to the subpoena for court...So here we are... several months later and I am renting a trencher to did the water line out to the new barn that Jon was supposed to do...Jon did hire several illegals to did the trench...however they only went down 24 inches and Baltimore county code says 36...at least that's what I read...maybe the ponies don't need to drink in the winter...perhaps they can just eat snow when the pipe is frozen...hey if you have a clogged toilet or drain call Jon...he will send someone else out to fix it perhaps a week from next Tuesday. Updates to follow...
"As the OWNER of this COMPANY I'll say this- you never know what your getting into these days with jobs, when it comes to home owners. You boast about paying $16,000.00 as if you've been robbed or your job had been abandoned? We pulled permits for your job and revised them after the fact due to "YOUR CHANGES" remember that- it was clear you wanted a bunch of extras completed as if they were gonna be free? Of as if I owed them to you! NO, as a matter of fact READ your CONTRACT cause I will be sending you a BILL from my LAWYER. As for the $16,000.00 that was paid out to date ladies and gentleman, well that was $2,000 in dumpster fees several thousand in material cost not including 4 weeks of labor for a dozen men. P.S. For the record yes I will send out "others" to perform work because I'm not the only one working here at this company!!! Also wasn't it your HOME INSPECTOR who told you too RUN from the property because of its conditions? This home should have been bulldozed- see you in court ;) SINCERELY-John"

I paid this person a $600 deposit to do this work on October 24, 2013. I didn't hear from him again until January 2014 when he told me "due to the weather I could not get to your job". I gave him the benefit of the doubt and agreed to have him come out as soon as possible. He offered a return of my deposit then, but at that time I still wanted the work done. I contacted him May, 3 2014 to inform him i was ready for him to come out and gave him my contact information for scheduling. He said he would come the next week, but he didn't. I sent him a follow up email on May 29, 2014 as I had not heard from him, and at this time I asked for my money back. On June 16, 2014 he agreed to sending me my money and said he was sending it that very day. Today it is July 8, 2014 and I still do not have my money back. I want my $600 returned.

The kitchen drain was snaked but a vent and a clean out needed to be installed. The company that did my kitchen remodel did not do a good job. After they installed a vent and clean-out the line was snaked again. A few days later I noticed Water in another part of the house. It was a leak in the main stack. It seemed that the cast iron pipe had rusted and with the snaking, it developed a hole. My house was built in the 1920?s and this was the original stack. These plumbers were able to do it all and at a great price. Much, much less than I would have paid through some of the other plumbing companies. I will use these guys again and again. Everything was explained and I saw the problems with the pipes. I was impressed that they showed up when they said they would and if they were running a little late they would call. They are able to do the job quickly and effectively. They are and A+ in my book.
As a landlord I have had my fair share of plumbing issues. I am particularly pleased with the service I receive from John owner of Knock You Plumb Out Plumbing. John has replaced sewer lines for me along with other plumbing problems. I have even referred John to friends, something I normally am hesitant to do because I don?t want to be involved if there are problems with the quality of the work. But with Knock You Plumb Out Plumbing I am confident of quality work and service. I highly recommend John.

My call was returned promptly and the plumber showed up exactly on time. He was polite and fixed the problem very quickly and even gave me tips on how to avoid similar clogs in the future. This company truly cares about its customers which is a rarity these days and I will only use them for any future plumbing jobs. I highly recommend them, they are super!
UPDATE AS OF JULY 23, 2014: Despite the owner's statement below: " I can resolve your patio issue and it will be ME paying a MASON from a company to complete the work," we have not heard from the company. The company has not responded to Angie's List. So we will be pursuing this matter through the Attorney General's Office.

__________________________________________________________________________________________________

First, let me say that it takes a really BAD experience for me to write a negative review. Generally, I give everyone the benefit of the doubt. Even in this case, I have contacted John for the last several days (with absolutely no response to multiple messages or texts) to remedy this situation. So, please take me seriously when I say that this company is NOT trust-worthy.
As part of this project to redirect the down spouts on my home, John recommended that we take up part of a stone patio (where the new pipe would be installed). I agreed based on his explanation and hired him to do the work. When the work was scheduled, he assured me that the installation would be done correctly and that he would ensure that the final product was "perfect" and "flawless".
I had to leave home before the work was completed and asked John if he would be there to ensure that everything was done to his satisfaction. He had brought in a team of guys who he said were experts. What I found when I came home, was far from "perfect" -- it was a complete mess. The stones which had been lifted were not properly replaced. Mortar was all over the tops of the stones (there was absolutely no clean-up) and the stones themselves were not even laid flat. As I continued to explore around the patio, I found many Corona beer caps -- which gives me an idea of what was really happening when this work was supposed to be done.
What's even worse, they took the "initiative" to relay a blue stone on a another dry set patio (which had popped up over the winter) -- and decided to put mortar down -- there is absolutely no mortar on that section of the patio. Not only was there now mortar where it didn't belong but it was also all over a beautiful stone wall that was expertly installed several years ago. Another complete mess.
I took pictures of the situation and sent to John via text message. His response was "what the heck" -- he indicated that he was horrified at the quality of the work, that it made him "sick to his stomach" (his words), and that he would absolutely ensure that it was fixed until it was "perfect" and "flawless". He blamed the guys he brought in -- even though he told me they were experts.
Since then, he has disappeared. He will not respond to a text or a phone call. I offered him the opportunity to simply refund a part of the fee that I paid him -- so that I could have the work redone by a real expert mason. He didn't reply to that offer.
I can only say that this experience is by far the WORST service experience I've had for any worker at my house. Absolutely terrible work and a complete lack of integrity in handling the issue (even after admitting that there was a problem).
I'd be happy to share with anyone who wants pictures of the horrible work and additional details. I can only say . . . buyer beware. This company is NOT high quality. Is not trust-worthy. And is not someone I would refer to my worst enemy.

Update to Company's Response:

1. I have still not been contacted by the owner of this company to resolve the issue, despite his stating above that "I can resolve your patio issue and it will be ME paying a MASON from a company to complete the work".
2. The owner states that the lower patio issue could be fixed in 15 minutes. It's been well over three weeks and the patio has not been fixed.
3. The owner states that the workers on the crew were drinking beer because it was very hot outside. The solution that every other worker on my property has used to address heat is to drink cold water.

Bottom line: The problems remain unresolved. I have made an offer to the company to settle this and they have not even formally replied to the Angie's list with a response to the complaint. There just continues to be excuses made with no action.

"Dear, [member name removed] with all do respect it's clear you are a bit over dramatic over the whole situation. Some might have considered you a drama Queen- let me be CLEAR! We installed several rain liter pipes underground which turned out great and also installed a new outdoor yard hydrant for your "lovely garden" however as for your stone walkway, yes we had to remove it in order to properly lay the pipe from underneath. The walkway was already FALLING INWARD AND DOWN, was is NOT? Yes I believe it was and it was brought to your attention prior to the work being done. Also your walkway is by NO MEANS level for the most part- it had already looked as if someone from CRAIGSLIST came out to lay it. Also I said that my guys could help level that walk way back out and this was not in my quote or bid- as for your lower patio that is a matter of 15min. To pick up one stone wipe that very little mortar off and reset in place- Done! As for the sidewalk way you were upset that the mortar used was white as it was for the original walkway, and this looked more of an eye soar because it stood out. I made contact with you and said we could easily clean it up but the day it was left in the manner as it was, heavy rain was coming through. So we did what we could and knew we would have to come back and as for a couple corona caps that were left behind, my guys were not by any means insured or out of character to perform the job. Let's be real- it was 104 degrees out and a long day. So please spare me your grief and sorry you could not get in touch, over the weekend. I do have a life outside of work and I was at a wedding out of state. I can resolve your patio issue and it will be ME paying a MASON from a company to complete the work. Thanks- SINCERLY-John"

Am starting this review for this contractor as he partially finished the job with the promise to be back in two weeks to address the remaining cosmetic clean-up and seeding. I will finish reviewing the quality of his work in greater details when he comes back to complete the job started and update on the overall quality of his workmanship.
Roots from a tree had damaged the sewer line of my 1949 house. Needless to say, it was not pleasant. I called five contractors and everyone (with the exception of 1) quoted similar estimates for the job. I chose Knock Your Plumb Out Plumbing because reading the reviews in Angie's List, talking to a reference, and partially because Johnathan (the owner) was proactive in his communication with me. He was efficient-visited my house, called the city to get a better idea of my sewer line and the city's, identified that a water line may have to be replaced since the sewer line is beneath it, gave me a quote--all within a span of a few hours. He then followed-up. I was initially taken aback on how assertive he was, but in retrospect, it was what made Johnathan stood out amongst the other 4 contractors I called. Once I screened Johnathan, my husband took over the details in communicating with Jonathan while updating me. My husband and I were quite concerned initially when we read the negative reviews that Jonathan did not come back to finish the job; however, Jonathan was open and willing to discuss our concerns. He seemed upfront and a straight shooter, which my husband typically appreciates.
Once the contract was signed, Jonathan called to set up a day to begin the job. Due to several raining days this past week, the work was delayed by a couple of days. Jonathan and his crew worked all day to hand-dig the yard and completed the job by the evening. My husband checked in twice throughout the day. Our yard looks horrible right now, but Johnathan reassures us that I will look better. He will come back to complete the job in two weeks and seed the yard for grass. I will become back to finish up this review. Thus far though, Johnathan is very professional. His quote is within the range of other contractors' (although he gives a lifetime warranty-not sure whose life's or how we can enforce that though :))! He is very communicative and will update you on the progress. He didn't pick up my phone call but did pick up for my husband on the day he was working. If all goes well, I will definitely recommend Knock Your Plumb Out Plumbing to other friends in the city and will use him again for other works. Will be back to update this review. The rating of B for "overall" and "quality" are not reflective of the work per say but as the work is not completed yet, it will have to be a B right now.

It went great. John and Jeff spent at least an hour snaking the drain. I had tried to do it myself and couldn't get past the blockage. Thank goodness I called them - they had to go another way through a different pipe. I could have snaked for the next year and never gotten it cleared. I would have never known to go that way.

They also told me preventative measures and what to do with the shower to eliminate the germs. Money well spent.

I original thought I had a simple clogged kitchen drain. I attempted to unclog it myself by renting a 50' X 1/2" drain cleaner. This was the first time I used an electric drain cleaner but I thought I could do it because I had a good access at the cleanout plug under a crawl space. This was not so easy, I could tell I was hitting something but I thought it was a bend in the pipe. I gave up and searched Angie's List for a plumber. I found Knock You Plumb Out Plumbing, Inc. was offering ?Any Drain Cleaned? for $125 so I purchased the deal. Knock You Plumb Out Plumbing, Inc. used an electric drain cleaner also and got the same results as I did so I didn?t feel so bad. Unfortunately it was determined that I had a galvanized pipe that corroded and collapsed somewhere under the concrete floor in the basement laundry\furnace room. In addition it was determined that the collapsed galvanized pipe was routed under the furnace. Knock You Plumb Out Plumbing, Inc. did an excellent job routing the new PVC pipe so the furnace didn?t have to be moved when the concrete floor was jackhammered for the new pipe. I also think the cost and time needed was very reasonable for the amount of work that was required for this new PVC drain extending from the kitchen to the main sewer line.
John replaced our sewer line in the fall of 2013. What struck us about John when we first met him was his honesty. He treats his customers like he wants to be treated when someone works on his home. He doesn't overcharge or offer things that aren't needed. There are no hidden costs. He will go out of his way to make sure he helps people, agreeing to do our job in Virginia even though he usually only worked in Maryland at that time (he is licensed in both states). We felt his quote was fair and reasonable and he answered all of our questions in detail. Having a sewer line replaced can be a bit traumatic, just in terms of the destruction it causes in the yard. But John's work was excellent. He used up-to-code materials and when our water line broke in the process, he handled that emergency with grace and did not charge us extra. We thought the guy who did the back hoe work could have made our yard a bit more level when putting the dirt back, but we've had landscaping work done since then, and everything looks good now. That is something you'll want to plan for though in terms of cost. You'll definitely need to put in grass seed or sod, and maybe some creative bushes, flowers, etc. like we did. For our next plumbing job, we will definitely hire John again. He is an all-around great guy, very knowledgeable and we trust him with our home. We've also recommended him to a family member in Olney.
