Ryan did a fantastic job! We asked him to build a custom cabinet from a rendering provided by an interior designer. He matched the look beautifully. The finished cabinet looks modern, sleek, and high-end. Additionally, Ryan was delightful to work with — courteous, prompt, and faithful to follow through with what he promised. I highly recommend!

I was looking for someone to come and build a desk for my son and I. I came across Knotty Nuff Wood and Ryan. I'm always skeptical, as I'm sure most of us are, of online reviews and hiring strangers to come into our homes to perform any sort of work. I spoke to several different people in my search to find the right one to build our custom desk. After speaking with Ryan, he offered to come to the house, meet and discuss designs and costs. As a single, working father who is also "design challenged" Ryan not only made me comfortable with hiring him but equally he designed what he thought would be the perfect desk for my 7-year-old and myself all on his own. He ran the ideas by us, he incorporated my son into the process and blew us away. My son, who only asked Ryan for "fun" as part of the design, which clearly was super helpful and a lot for Ryan to work with, has been super excited working at his new desk. Ryan incorporated blue lapis (it's a Minecraft thing) inlays and centerpiece into my son's side of the desk along with a crystal display cabinet for my son's growing collection. Furthermore, he spent the time building removable pieces of color matched wood for under his side of the desk, as research shows working with your feet on the ground (again, my son is 7 and can't reach the ground from a normal sized desk chair), so that as he grows up, I remove one plank at a time to fit his growing legs. Like I started with, having strangers in your home is always worrying but Ryan and his dad Tom were not only amazing to have around, but joined us for lunch and laughed with us which was awesome! It would be one thing to write this review in hopes you all read it and hire Ryan for your own projects, but another for me to take it a step further... I hired Ryan to build a desk for my son and I, but I was so impressed with him as a person and the amazing quality of his work that he's already done a second home office in my house, redid our guest room with a beautiful murphy bed hidden inside of beautiful cabinetry, along with a maker studio where he hid our home printer, 3d printer, and laser cutter. That way the room is clean, zero wires and there is no technology you can see, but open up the cabinets, or underneath the bench in front of the bay window. As a testament to the quality of Ryan's work and who he is as a person, all of a sudden, my son is into building stuff out of wood. Having just completed his first project which is a jellybean dispenser and he's now onto building a birdhouse. Ryan is nothing short of amazing, I can't say enough about him, the quality of his process and the ultimate satisfaction of the new furniture he built and designed for us. There is nothing I can say more than I can't wait to buy a new home to work with him again, and I will ALWAYS recommend him with confidence! Thank you so much Ryan!!!

I cannot rate Knotty Nuff Wood highly enough. I would recommend Ryan to anyone interested in any degree of woodworking. For myself, for any cabinetry or furniture work I have done, I will absolutely be contacting Ryan first. Amazing overall job. We have hired Ryan for a couple of different projects. The first was a custom wet bar, which involved turning a completely blank empty closet into a beautiful wet bar, complete with plumbing, custom cabinetry, installation and paneling of a wine fridge, wood paneling for walls and ceiling, glass tile backsplash, and wall-mounted shelves. It was really an incredible amount of work. The quality of the materials and the craftsmanship is incredible! The sad closet has become the coolest room in our house! Ryan really paid attention to all the little details. This included having the sink installed perfectly underneath the beer taps, the faucet set just right into the corner, and any seams in the wood paneling being hidden toward the bottom of the walls. The drawers are all dovetail corners, which was an unexpected level of quality at the price he charged. The second project involved building two custom vanities for some bathroom remodels. One vanity was based off the specs of a free-standing vanity we liked. But Ryan really brought it to life with improved materials, a great finish, and custom tweaks like installation of an electric strip into a shelf and a pull-out undersink drawer. The second vanity was truly custom. It had to fit into a very odd-size space. He also built a beautiful solid walnut top for the second vanity, which really brings it all together beautifully. He worked with us to find a finish that would be both moisture safe and still give us our preferred matte-style look. We love both vanities. Quality of the work: A+, 10 of 10. 5 stars. Whatever the best is, Ryan gets that rating. Dove tail drawer corners, precision cutting and installation, and everything noted above. The materials Ryan suggested were stunning. The quality of his work is fantastic. And his execution is spot on. Service: Fantastic. Ryan is incredibly responsive by phone and e-mail. He came out on extremely short notice for the initial bid. I was amazed at how quickly he responded to my inquiries. And he really got us out of a bind in building the custom vanity top so quickly.
