The granite was beautiful and for the most part the installation was done well, but the service fell down in a few ways. We had hired them before to remodel two bathrooms and that went well. This time around though, we were disappointed. First, the counter for the half bath was cut wrong: the hole for installing the sink was off center, by a lot -- 6 inches or more. Since there was no surplus of that piece of granite, we had to go with another which was not quite the same. Then for installing the bar sink in the kitchen, the worker did not ask me before cutting in the hole for the faucet, and even when I was standing right there, he was on a phone call as he worked and would not talk to me. He cut the hole too close to the small sink; we may have to replace the faucet with a smaller one. Third, we wanted a white sink in the bath. The rep in the store kept trying to sell us one which was off-white. We were told that was the only "white" one of that size. We had a plumber ready to install the sinks. I went home, went online, and bought an actually white Kohler sink of the right size which I got delivered the next day, free express shipping. About the same cost as at Knoxville Stone Interiors. The company reps were amazed as my success. I was surprised that they wouldn't have known how to do what I did.

We used this company before and liked the results, but this time around the quality was not as high. We were told - after we selected our stone - that there would be a long time between measuring and installing, due to a backup of work on their part, as I understood it. Since theirs was the only place we could find this particular stone, we decided to go ahead. It did mean a long delay in finishing our project. Besides that inconvenience there were several issues. First, they forgot to tell us to order braces for the island overhang -- good thing we figured that out on our own. Also, they would only let us use their custom made, expensive braces that would take several weeks to come in. Again, good thing we figured out to order them early enough. Then there was a delay due to trouble getting one of our sinks, which problem they finally explained to us after someone in their shop implied it was our fault for changing one (small) part of the order. Then the vanity counter was cut wrong, and if we hadn't noticed it we had to wonder if they'd have installed it anyway. No one ever apologized for the error. It was our good fortune that there was similar stone in stock (after we had been told they didn't have any more of this type). And the "white" sink we ordered through KSI was definitely not white, and we were told to go find another sink on our own. Which we did, and surprised them with how fast we got one. Makes us wonder why they, who do this all the time, couldn't do as well. When the installers finally came back with the stone cut correctly, and both sinks correct, there seemed to be a "chill" in the air. They were just not very friendly this time around. To the company's credit when I informed them about how this part of the install went, they responded quickly and were appropriately apologetic, explaining the circumstances which had nothing to do with us. We can understand how everybody can have a bad day, but it put a bad tone over finishing the project. The counters looks nice, but the trouble we went through along the way was frustrating. We may be looking for a different company if we do work like this in the future.

"Mr [Member Name Removed], thank you for taking the time to provide a review of our company and services! I appreciate your honest response so that we can continue to keep on top of any issues in product or training. One question regarding your experience though. You mentioned that the "faux doors" were not to your satisfaction...we don't do any work with cabinets or any other trim work so I am confused as to our involvement. If you would like to discuss further please do not hesitate to contact me directly and thank you again! Kelly Milligan Owner"

We went with KSI because of their excellent reviews, and we were not disappointed. Given a lot of the mixed reviews on here for other area fabricators, we didn't really want to take a gamble on any company that we'd potentially have problems with later, so we're very glad we chose KSI. From start to finish everything was amazing.
KSI's estimate was more detailed than one from another company, the price was a little better, and they seemed to be more able to find the kind of stone we were looking for... all without us having officially "chosen" them yet. We worked with a saleswoman named Kelly and she was wonderful... very quick to respond to emails too. After we decided to go with them, the gentleman who came to measure for the templating was professional, knowledgeable, and answered all our questions. I ended up finding my own slabs at Triton Stone, and the process of getting quotes from KSI on different stones I picked out there was so quick -- it was either the same day or the next.
They were so flexible with us on a number of things, including installation date, avoiding a less desirable spot on one of the slabs, us delaying the measuring until we got some carpentry done, and so on.
The installers were very professional and communicated about everything that needed my input. The undermount sinks and cutouts look great; the cooktop cutout is snug and fits perfectly. No real mess to speak of after they left. There is one part that I wish was more snug with the wall, but they make it clear they can't always conform to walls... and there's not a straight wall in our old house. So it'll be taken care of with a backsplash.
We declined the sealer and warranty, so the price does not include that. We sealed it ourselves with a different product.
We are also so glad that they only charge for the amount of stone used, not the entire slab... which was great because the marble we chose was in smaller slabs, necessitating two for us instead of just one bigger one. So, know that they have remnants available from all their projects.
Overall, we're extremely pleased, and it went so smoothly it's almost a little unreal. We'd use KSI again and absolutely recommend them to others.
I was hoping to find a counter top to match our existing kitchen granite. Knoxville stone interiors had just what I needed in a remanant so I didn't have a large expense. They had it made in a day and it matches perfectly! I later needed to have it re-cut for a smaller cabinet because of a mistake that I made, and that was no problem for them... Very easy to work with and lots of options!
Knoxville Stone Interiors did a great job finding a nice stone for our kitchen at a reasonable price. The estimator was punctual, personable, professional, and did a great job on the estimate. The showroom assistance was very helpful and clear on explaining the contract. The only issue we had was that we had to have the stone recut for part of the kitchen and therefore had the kitchen torn out and unusable for a week. That being said, we did have a very strange/difficult angle to cut. I was glad they brought out the actual fabricator on the second try. He was an amazing worker and did an fantastic job! Also, they came out as quickly as possible to solve the problem. In the grand scope of things, this was small issue that would NOT prevent me from using KSI. My kitchen is BEAUTIFUL!
It was a really good experience. The time span from picking out the granite to installation was one week. Everybody that I talked to from this company was professional and caring. They didn't have to seam the granite So I am thrilled with the look. I purchased the stainless steel sink from them and they installed it. I am very happy With the quality of it too. Thank you Kelly for helping me with everything.
They were an excellent company to work with. The under counter sink came lose this past week and they came right back out and fixed it. They even had some extra granite to cut a back splash for us and installed it for free! They were very professional, I was very impressed with their site, and their prices were comparable with everyone else's. The guy's that came out were very pleasant as well.

"[removed member name], I am very disappointed to hear that there is an issue and you did not call me personally. We met several times during your project and I had no idea there were any open items to discuss. I will be contacting you this week to find out what we need to work on for you. Also, I just went out and your lazy susan is still in our pick up area. It had a note "customer has been contacted, waiting on pick up" but I can also certainly deliver that to you as well. I look forward to speaking with you this week. Kelly Milligan Owner"

I had a great experience with this company. Not perfect, but great anyways. The representative estimated the cost of my project and explained the different price points of the stone including the difference between using a remnant and ordering a slab. He came out to the house and measured everything for us. He went through his entire inventory of remnants that would fit my project and had them ready for me to look at when I went back to the store. I fell in love with a piece of granite, river white, and of course there wasn't a remnant large enough for my project. They ordered it for me and it was here in a week. They set up the install while I was out of town. My mom let them in. When we got home we realized that the hearth was not the proper width and the side pieces were not exactly where they were supposed to be. Our representative came back out, agreed that there had been and error and promised to take care of it. A new hearth was cut out of our remnant and the installers came back out and pulled the first one off, did some onsite cutting and installed everything again. It now looks amazing. I plan on using them again in the future and would recommend them to my friends.

I would rate the quality of the installation as a C, the quality of the product as an A and the responsiveness a D. We had two major issues with the order and installation. The fireplace was initially cut incorrectly. When it was measured I was specific that it needed to fill the void created by the old hearth. At one point we discussed the side area to the wall and he made a statement that if he held it to 6" then that would work. Since we were discussing the side return of the hearth I assumed that is what he meant but at installation the whole hearth was just 6". They remade the piece and only charged me for the additional material and not the waste material that they had to remove. I thought this was very fair. The fireplace picture framing is crooked which should have been a tipoff what was to come with the kitchen. The kitchen has large gaps next to the wall with the overhang going from 1 1/2" to 2" in just 31" of run. The corner piece is installed crooked which is what is creating the overhang difference. It took a month to get someone to come see the issue and then another month and two e-mails and two phone calls to basically be told "the wall is bowed" it is not "We do not scribe to the wall" something that would have been nice to know since this is the first company that I have ever used that cuts but does not fit and as for the fireplane, the comment was "Well this is the first time we ever did this so I guess it is not that bad". One section of the kitchen counter is not matched well to the other sides. The explanation is that it is the run of the material. This is not our first quartz kitchen but is is the first time the layout did not take into consideration the pattern at the most visible area. My recommendation is to get a company that laser measures, make sure they are willing to scribe to the wall and that you are there when they measure. Make sure you understand exactly where there will be gaps, note them on their sheet and most of all get a copy of what the make you sign before they leave your home or business.

UPDATE: Over a month ago (Christmas Eve actually) KSI sent someone our to look at our issue. As of today her has been no further contact. I am assuming that their position is that the walls are not square. Ours remains the same we should have been told before the job was cut that there would be an issue. I plan to refer this to a lawyer since KSI refuse to communicate on a timely schedule or to offer a solution to the problem. We spent $7200 and are treated to poor service. I wonder how much you have to spend to get a call back in less that two or three months?

"thank you for your honest review. We have verbally discussed some options for an amicable resolution and as I said those are always on the table if you decide to pursue them. Even with over 5,000 kitchen installations we take this very seriously when a customer's expectations are not met or exceeded. Your unique situation will be used as a training ground for myself and staff on continuing improvement. Please do not hesitate to let us know if we can open up a discussion for further resolution. I called on Tuesday, August 19th and spoke with Jesse who scheduled a measure appointment for me on August 21st. The gentlemen that measured our property was polite, on time and efficient. I provided a 50% deposit and signed a simple one-page price estimate. My granite was installed exactly one week later. When they thought they might be an hour late, they called to let me know. The granite was seamless, well-finished, and the installation crew was professional, polite and prompt. We flip houses for a living and deal with LOTS of subcontractors. They rank among the best. I will DEFINITELY use them again and again and again.
We had a small project (less than 15 square feet) that Lowes would not do. Through our painter we were hooked up with Knoxville's Stone Interiors. Wow! We were treated like royalty even though it was a small project, you would think we were buying hundreds of square feet. The folks were very knowledgeable and were dead on the estimate and the delivery deadline. Although this remodel was very difficult, Knoxville's Stone Interiors was a bright and shining spot in the process. I would definitely use them for any future work.
