I have been using this company for all of my remodeling needs. Complete bathroom overhaul, crown molding, flooring and trim. James and his crew are prompt and keep you in the loop on the status of the job. Highly recommend this company. A+++ service.

It went ok. This was scheduled to be a 3 day job, he was done in a day and a half (he cancelled one day, left early the other). The wainscoting install was very good, we are very pleased with his work on that. The paint job was obviously rushed. Part of this is on me, because I apparently did not follow up as well as I should have. But the upstairs bedroom needed a second coat, and I am still finding areas where they just didn't paint, like behind the closet doors. Inside the closet, the entire closet needed a second coat. Also, part of the wire shelf in that closet was pulled out from the wall, I wish they had told me about that when they saw it. I really think they should have taken the additional day that I lost, just for finishing touches. What they did paint for the most part looks fine, but we are spending time on our weekends finishing up their job. I clicked the box that said I would not hire them again, but I am not sure if I would or not. I think if I do, I will just have to pay very close attention, but again, that's not what I am looking for when I hire a professional to do a job.

"Dear Mr. ____ I think you are forgetting some parts. When we contracted to do your job, it was a very small project and upon speaking, I told you that it would take no more than 3 days to complete. When our team arrived the first day they worked well into the evening completing more than half of your project. You were than told that they would be back to finish in 48 hrs. Which they did. You were there the entire day watching their progress and had 48 hrs. to further inspect everything that was done to that point. Upon their return, they finished your project and you were taken on an inspection of what was done prior to you being asked for payment. Again if there was an issue you could have spoken up then. Instead you happily paid the invoice. As you stated you have worked with us on a prior project. If you discovered problem later, you could have given us a call. Instead you choose not to. You unfairly questioned our professionalism, however, we are professionals that stand by our work and have no problem returning if a customer is having a problem with something we have done ( at no additional charge). You had 3 opportunities to let us know you were not happy. Instead 4 weeks later you decide to write a negative review. It took you longer to write this review than it would have to make a phone call or leave a message. So what really is the issue? Shannon KS&D"

KS&D did a great job on a handful of smaller jobs in an older house with plenty of quirks. Their drywall work looks very good and they successfully installed a new section of wood flooring to blend with the existing 50 year old boards. They were punctual, courteous and addressed the few glitches right away. Will definitely hire again.

KS & D contractors sent a team of two men to repair a door jamb that had been damaged due to a kick-in and to install a door jamb reinforcement kit. The team arrived on time and I watched them perform the repair. The senior member of the team, deftly assisted by the other member, skillfully and efficiently worked his way through the nonstandard difficulties of my problem (i.e., the door was thicker than regular doors, and the plaster walls behind the doorjamb repair were complicating how the screws were to be set in). He solved all of these problems using the myriad of tools and materials that he brought to the job (they have a really big truck). Through watching them work through the job, I am convinced that it would have taken me weeks to have attempted to do the same thing, with me having to watch YouTube videos, going back and forth to the hardware store, and renting or buying different tools, etc... I wrote this about a year ago soon after they did that work. Somehow, I forgot to submit this review until now and its been sitting on my hard drive all this time. With the tenant changed out I can see that the repair has still held up - just as it was after they repaired it. I apologize for the late review, but thanks for your great work, KSD!

I love KSD. James and his crew are amazing! They did a good bit of work for us. Raised the floor of a sunken family room, added a wall, replaced a sliding door with a window, added a closet, gutted a powder room & closet and expanded it to a full size bathroom, added a concrete step to my patio, as well as all the small details...crown molding, chair rail, new carpets and planking, seamless drywall, electrical, three ceiling fan installations. They were prompt, arriving each morning when they said they would. They seem to be more project-based...day 1 was demo, day 2 was support beams, sub-flooring etc. They were definitely on top of things. I mistakenly purchased the wrong size shower base and they made the adjustments to the plan to make it work. James made sure to mention things that we hadn’t considered (this was our first big remodel!) and confirmed with us the little details that were important to make sure they were done right. James and his crew were very professional and superb with communication about every part of the remodel, and not to mention they were just the friendliest group of guys. :) We absolutely will be using them again for any other projects..and there is quite the list! Go with James and his crew, they’ll do a wonderful job!

It was an amazing experience. Their bid was below competitors considered and the final product exceeded expectations and was completed ahead of schedule. They were efficient, consistent, and paid attention to keeping a tidy workspace throughout the process. They matched the finishes of my above ground spaces so that my basement matches the rest of my home. Their workmanship and attention to detail are exemplary. The gentlemen understood what I needed done and helped me get creative with the color and tile chosen. I appreciated suggestions on materials that may work better for my family size. They were on time, very hard working and fast. Being fast did not ***** the quality of the work at all. KS&D were the best!!

James and his crew came in and knocked it right out of the box. I have been saving for years for my dream kitchen. I'm very selective when it comes to who I have do work in my home. I had met with several contractors but they all seemed so rushed and eager to get my money or offer some crazy financing that I didn't need. James was different. He liked my ideas and even gave me a few of his own. He and his crew were spot on and really took care of my house during the remodel. I get so many compliments over the kitchen. My husband and I are saving to have our bathrooms done and we are going to be calling KS & D back.

Awesome! This is the second time I've used KS & D, and can't wait to use them again. James (owner) it really pleasant to work with especially when he comes over to do one job and I ask him about all these other things I need to fix. He doesn't mind at all, and is happy to help. He is so efficient, and and does quality work. My back splash probably only took James 6 hours total over two days. I don't have a huge space, but a back splash takes time and attention to detail. I'm really happy with how it turned out, and I have attached pictures to this review. He also fixed installed my two exterior lights that hadn't been working for me in 2 years and fixed the light on my fan that has never worked in 5 years. He also fixed my doorbell that was broken. It's great that he also does electrical and plumbing. Overall, I'm super happy with KS&D's services, and told James I will need him back over to do major work for me to help sell my house in the next few years. The price is more than fair and reasonable he charged $350 for the back splash and only another $150 for the electrical and lights. If I hired an electrician it would have been twice that! Thank you KS & D for a wonderful job!

This is the 3rd large project with James and team. The project took a little over a week which was on time, as quoted and came out better than we expected. See pictures below for the final product. You won't be disappointed hiring KS&D. We added replacing all the interior doors while James was out here.

The company was punctual, cleaned all demolition and building materials and finished the job as promised. They washed our walk after each day and took all empty boxes etc. James is a professional and has teams that work for him who know what they are doing and are as professional. However, James manages and does a great deal of the work. We felt we were in good hands from Day 1 when we met and contracted the work and saw his hands on approach. The bathroom is beautiful and we are looking forward to contracting this group for a number of projects long overdue. Cost of service listed includes our materials cost in addition to his service cost. Money well spent.

They were thorough, prompt, professional, and courteous. Shannon working from their office helps ensure that communications stay very responsive. Besides their all around solid work, they went to special lengths to match damaged hardwood planks during the floor refinishing project. This added effort went above and beyond our expectations. From day one was very impressed with James Millington and the KS & D Home Improvement & Construction Company. When James arrived on site for the initial estimate he was prompt, courteous and asked all the right questions in a quick and concise manner which gave me confidence from the start. The estimate was substantially lower than any other estimate I received, but based on my meeting with James I was confident to go forward with his company. His team arrived on time every day and was very polite and hard working. They progressed very quickly in framing, dry walling, painting and carpeting my 1200 square foot basement. Additionally, they installed a full bath where the floor had to be dug up a bit to get the fitting of the shower, toilet and sink correct. Even with that I could go down to the basement each day and see the progression without being covered in dirt and dust as they were meticulous at cleaning up at the end of the day. James went above expectations on many occasions including picking up items like vanity and lights for me which I had picked out from a specific store, he patched up an existing leaking window for me and he made a few recommendations along the way to make the end result that much better. They also touched up some drywall that had already existed in the stairwell so it would look as nice as the finished sections they were doing. The project completed very quickly, especially considering the pretty large size of the area. I am very happy with my finished basement and all the work that was done. I would not only use KS&D again, I would confidently recommend them to my friends for any of their contracting needs.

My partner and I recently moved into a new home and we were excited about getting a kitchen remodel. We wanted the entire kitchen gutted and replaced. We began to get estimates on our dream kitchen and slowly our dream began to die. The estimates we so astronomical that we thought we would never be able to redo this kitchen. One guy came out and spent two hours trying to convince us to take asecond on our house so his company could do the work. Long story short, my neighbor was having a new bathroom installed and I asked her about her contractor. She just began bragging about this company, how they had done several jobs for her and how good they were. So after they completed her job I asked her if I could take a look and I was floored, it was beautiful. I got the number and we called that night. The gentleman that came out to do the estimate. He was very respectful and plain spoken, not a saleman type at all. He listened to us, answered our questions and took notes. Later that week we got our estimate and tears came to my eyes. It was 8k cheaper than the cheapest estimate we had recieved. We decided to go for it. The contractor, James walked us through the job. He and his men showed up everyday on time, covered my furniture and flooring to save from dust and were always respectful despite the fact I asked a million questions and had a <br>couple change. At the end my kitchen turned out beautiful. I could not be more happy. I will be calling on this company again. <br> <br>Bathrooms 2018! <br> <br>
