I was offered 2 handymen for 4 hours or 1 for 8.  I asked for 1 for 8 hours.  They sent 2 individuals.  One was the handyman and the other handed him batteries and tools.  He helped him carry the ladder.  I had told them when I scheduled that if they had time I had some things I'd like taken to the dump and some trim painted on a door.  They were done before the 4 hours were up but said they didn't have the right truck to go to the dump and they didn't do painting.  So they didn't do 4 hours of work. <br />

Excellent! Right on time, professional, friendly, and seemed to know how to repair just about anything. My only complaint was that the two of them were too fast and efficient! Every time I turned around they had completed another task. I highly recommend this company. <br />

I purchased a Big Deal from this provider for 8 hours of handyman work for $199.00.The tech arived on time and was very friendly.  He finished the tasks in a little less than eight hours and left.  The following day, one of the three ceiling fans he installed stoped working.  I noticed that all three fans had been installed on the same remote frequency.  When one was turned off, they all went off and so forth. <br /> I called the provider andt he tech returned only to tell me that the wiring in my home was derective.  It cost an additional $65.00 for him to come to this conclusion even thouth he did not work the full eight hours I originally purchased.  And, to make matters worse, after hte tech left my home, the breaker switch he was working on went out.  I contacted an electriction who told me the original fan installation was done incorrectly and that's what caused the breakers to go out. <br />

I gave Mr. Cook a printed detailed list of the work to be done.  The estimate did not include filling holes carpenter bees had made and painting the unpainted wood on my screened porch.  When I called the office to inquire, I was told that if he had a paintbrush in his hand  he could go ahead and do that part of the list even though it wasn't on the estimate.  Everything else on my list was cosmetic but this job was by far the most important. <br /> The first day they phoned to say traffic was bad on the interstate and they were an hour late.  To be fair, Tuesday I was ill and asked them not to come.  Another day I waited two hours past their scheduled arrival and called them when I hadn't heard from them.  Mr. Cook told me the work I wanted shouldn't take more than 2 days but he ended up being at my house part of 4 days.  His helpers did not show up except for the first day when someone painted my bathroom. <br /> Everything had been done except the carpenter bee job when Mr. Cook told me it was impossible for him to get to the unpainted wood on the screened porch.  I reminded him that job was on the detailed list I'd originally given him and how very important it was to get it done.  As a solution, I suggested that he make a walk board area off the small stoop in order to accomplish that job.  The next day he showed up with boards and started that job.  I provided plastic drop cloths and tape to protect the expensive screens ($1700) I'd had installed last year.  There is now a white blob stain on one screen which I am not happy about. <br /> Professionalism just wasn't there and I expected more from the company.  I didn't expect to have to suggest solutions for problems they encountered in order to get the work done.. <br /> Mr. Cook lacks serious attention to painting detail.  I'm 69 years old and my painting days are behind me but I could have done a 100% better job painting my bathroom.  There are quite a few areas in the bathroom I'll need to touch up to make it look like a professional painted it.  He is a pretty good carpenter and the medicine cabinets and folding doors he installed in the bathroom look fine.  He also did a good drywall job patching the hole in the wall where a heater had been removed. He's also not careful about keeping paint off where it shouldn't be. <br /> Cleanup was sketchy unfortunately.  He forgot to bring his wet vac the last day to clean the drywall dust up in the bathroom.  He swiped around with a cloth and left a dropped spot of drywall mud on the floor.  The two medicine cabinets were also left behind for me to dispose of. <br /> He also charged me $130 above the estimate for the carpenter bee ordeal.  It was a stressful week and I would not have the company back.  <br /> <br /> <br />

We were supposed to have 2 guys for 4 hours. One man, the owner showed up, dirty, hungover, did not give me a confident feeling. Said he would go get a helper but thought it would take him all day to find someone. I said just stay and do the best he could. He dropped the cabinet and put a huge dent in my new stove..UGH Very unprofessional. <br /> Penny Bryant <br /> I will not use Angie's list nor will I recommend it since it is obvious that your listed providers are  not prescreened.Since that is why we joined Angie's list I do not see value in your services. <br />

They did several odd and end jobs.  Sawed off a bottom portion of cabinets so refrigerator would slide back.  Put up two light fixtures; tightened some railing upstairs, etc.

I couldn't have been more pleased with the service.  The gentleman who came out was on time, was friendly and worked very hard.  My only complaint is that the bathtub grout that was replaced is already cracking again and I'm going to need to have that redone.  Other than that, it went very well. <br />

They came out and they were prompt. They had to come back out and re-do a number of things. It wasn’t the best and I wouldn’t use them again. Four out of the four sinks they replaced ended up leaking and they had to come back to fix them. The same guy came out both times.

They performed the requested service and even suggested other items which they added to the originally requested work. | |However the quality of the work done was less than hoped. Fewer coats of paint than necessary were applied and details were missed. They closed fresh painted doors on their frames which sealed the doors and caused the paint to peel away when the doors were opened.

He seemed very capable of many things but he was very slow.  The deal was for 3 hours and he accomplished about half the list.  He spent a lot of time looking for tools and supplies to complete his job stating that he did not have his usual truck. <br />

It was okay. There was a little problem with them now. I thought that one of the people that came out, they said the handyman service but it also said that it was a great A license contractor that would be coming to the house and it wasn’t. I got one contractor that came for a few minutes at the beginning and patched up the dry wood hole while he was waiting for the other 2 people to show up. One of which was a handyman and the other sort of was an assistant to the handyman that sort of handed him stuff and did that kind of thing. So I didn’t really feel that I got 8 hours worth of one person or even 2 people for 4 hours. They were here for 4 hours but I didn’t feel that I really got that. So I called them and they agreed to come out and finish some of the work because they didn’t get everything done in 4 hours. So they agreed to come back out and agreed with the woman and she said he would come back out. I was going to make this little platform to put a dog bed on and she said he will do that at no cost and then they called back and said no. She took the feedback from me very well and she told me it was the first time they had sent that girl out to do any work but she mostly worked in the office and then they called back and said that they talked to them and that I got what I paid for and her husband will not come back out for free but will come out and do it for a regular rate. I ended up not having him do the dog platform bed. I had him pull out this platform that the washer and dryer were on and my husband helped him do this and it was an older guy. It was under an hour but we ended up paying him for an hour. Their work wasn’t bad but I wasn’t really happy with the financial arrangement worked out.

Went well. Performed jobs mostly with one man. Brought another guy that was also paid at half the rate the first tech was paid. I think the main guy did all the work and the other guy mostly stood around. Overall they did a good job but i think it could have been done with just one guy. <br />

After very carefully verifying the time and date the work was to be done, I was at the house ready to meet them at 9 am.  They were not there, so I called, only to discover some misunderstanding on their part as to the right day.  Then I was told they would have someone at the house within an hour.  That didn't happen either, so I called again only to be told they were having a hard time finding it. (It's not hard to find).  Finally, after an hour and a half delay, they finally showed up.  <br /> Once they got started, they did get to the work and got things done.  They fixed drawers, hung blinds, replaced a bad deck board, and replaced a few defective fence pickets.  They also stained the replaced deck board.  They tried to fix a railing and a window that would not close very well, both without much success, but neither of these were really something they could do very easily.  I did not hold these items against them. <br />  I had to go to the hardware store the day before to buy the lumber and fence pickets so as not to waste their time.  While they were there working, I also had to go to the hardware store to get the replacement parts for the drawers.  However, they seemed to have plenty of time to do the work within the allotted time.  <br /> With the deal from Angie's list, their rate was about $25 per hour was not too bad, but I have had others quote me $20.  And they were not their for the full time I paid for. (8 hours for one, 4 hours for 2).  <br /> Overall, they did a decent job, but the rate was not a great deal, and the fact they showed up late and I had to run out to get supplies for them was frustrating.

Overall the work, labor and laborers, material and permits were very good.  Some follow-up work was needed but it was done promptly and without complaint. The price was fair and included a discount by virtue of being an Angie's List member. <br /> Will Cook was prompt with the estimate and started when scheduled with all permits drawn.  <br /> A leak in the roof had caused extensive damage to the bathroom walls and paint. The house was built in the mid twenties and had hard plaster sheet rock on walls and ceiling.  This was all taken down and removed from property.  Quality drywall was put up and the bathroom window replaced.  The window took a long time to come in because the provider had assured Will they were in stock.  They weren't and needed to be ordered.  The window needed to be reframed and re-cemented into the outer wall. <br /> The floor was weak and needed to be replaced.  The sub-floor was strengthened and new linoleum flooring laid down.  The toilet was reseated and the tub resealed to the floor.  The material surrounding the tub was also replaced. <br /> The job was considered complete until the first rain and it again leaked into the bathroom and messed up the paint job.  That's when the guttering was replaced as the possible or probable cause of the water coming in.  The charge was extra but the gutter did need to be replaced.  That was not the cause of the leak, as we found out the next time it rained. <br /> Will came back with a roofing person and the leak was identified and fixed.  It is possible that the vent boot wan not installed properly the first time.  Will repaired the damage to the interior wall and we said we were satisfied.  The original remodeling work did look somewhat better than the repair.  <br /> In defense of Landlord's Helper, the window not being in stock as promised, a death in the family, his crew having problems and other promised/scheduled work pushing h****** the time Will had to work did create a really tough working environment.  <br /> I am satisfied with the final product while at the same time wishing it could have all gone smoother.  I would recommend Landlord's Helper to my friends and to other Angie's List members <br />

We had a bit of a miscommunication up front and had to reschedule the work once they came out to look at what was required. Overall the work was very well done and I would recommend them to anyone. They could have been a bit more organized, but I think they are used to larger jobs and this was a small one. That is the only reason I did not give them an A overall <br />

I first talked with Mrs. Claudia Cook and arranged a time to meet with the Foreman at the house. Mr. Cook was on time and I went over the scope of the work. He provided excellent responses to questions and was clear about what he could do. At a followup date, I signed contract that recapped everything we had discussed. I provided a 50% payment by check at that time. The work was to be completed prior to Halloween and all work was completed by the desired date. I was pleased with the results and I will certainly called them again for future work. <br />

We contacted Landlord's Helper by e-mail and received a timely response.  Claudia Cook was extremely gracious and professional in scheduling an estimate and providing it in writing.  The estimate was lower and provided more work than the other contractor.  Will Cook and two helpers came by when they said they would began to work right away.  I had though the interior walls of this old stone house were lathe, chicken wire and plaster.  This would have been a lot more work to remove.  The work went well until it came time to put in the new window.  Will had contacted the supplier and was assured that what we needed was available.  He did it again and was reassured it would be available.  It wasn't. Someone had bought them all.   It took a couple of days for the window to come in.  In the meantime, a death in the family created some additional delay. <br />    Every time Will and crew left, they made the bathroom usable until they could return.  There was a minimum of inconvenience throughout the entire job, plus the conversations Will had with me and my two sons, the renters, were very helpful. <br />    I could not be more pleased with the work.  The delay in getting everything completely done were mostly beyond Landlord's Helper's control.  They were extremely apologetic about the delay and stayed with us in spite of the fact it meant delaying some of the job's they had planned. <br />    When we wrote fitness reports in the Navy, we would use terms like wonderful, excellent, super, etc.  When we used the phrase "Head and Shoulders Above the Rest", it was the highest of compliments and evaluations.   Landlord's Helper workers, workmanship and staff are Head and Shoulders above the rest and I would be glad to recommend them to anyone. <br />

We have been extremely pleased with their service on both occasions. Communication was great, they were punctual, and did a great job on all the projects. We won't hesitate to call them in the future.
