We hired and worked with Rocco on two simultaneous bathroom renovations on the second floor of our house. (We were responsible for purchasing most materials, and Rocco and his team then worked with them.) While we did not vary the footprint, we did have them lower a few walls and replace them with glass in order to "open up" two rather claustrophobic shower stalls. We also installed new lighting and ventilation, along with replacing all of the existing fixtures. Working with Rocco and his son, Rocco Jr, was a lovely experience from start to finish. Rocco, Rocco Jr, and all of their subcontractors are exceedingly polite and professional and highly skilled. The tile work and custom glass for the showers were precise; the plumbing and electrical functions very well. The whole thing took about 8 weeks from start to finish, and we are very pleased with the results. Love our new bathrooms, and would not hesitate to use Rocco & team again! [Note: pictures were taken before glass was in, but give you a good idea of the look/craftsmanship.]

The project was done flawlessly. We had several cabinets created, electrical and plumbing done by Landmark. As always the workers showed up on time and on budget. The work was done neatly and there were no problems whatsoever. We have used Landmark before and will be happy to use this responsive and responsible company on future projects.

Rocco and his team at Landmark did an outstanding job throughout every phase of this project. We knew exactly where we were from both a timeline standpoint as well as with our budget. Another OUTSTANDING renovation by Rocco and his team. Punctual, clean and top quality craftsmanship in converting our 1980s style bathroom into a modern spa-like showpiece. The team removed our old tile, jacuzzi style bathtub, funky hardware and vanity expeditiously. Then roughed the plumbing, laid new tile, installed soaking tub, shower, toilet, vanity etc with the care, skill and attention to detail of an absolute professional. For the record, Rocco’s team renovated our guest bathroom in 2015 and it still looks great! Needless to say, it was an easy decision to enlist Rocco’s team again.

Rocco Umbro of Landmark design transformed our separate family room and kitchen into a "great room", an open space that is a delight to be in. A weight bearing wall had to come down. They were meticulous in their approach and easily navigated the project. Also the opening into the kitchen entailed a sensitive transition between the wood floor in the family room and the tile flooring in the kitchen. We were impressed at their expertise, attention to detail and "no problem" encouraging attitude.

This project from start to finish was a relaxing, smooth and creative experience. Each phase was expertly executed, neat, clean, quiet and arriving on time as scheduled. Rocco Umbrio totally supervises all aspects of the remodel. He connected us with sales people at the best local bath supply stores, getting us discounts and kept in touch with them personally making sure everything was delivered. The care and attention to detail of all the workers was inspiring. Rocco and his son are a pleasure to work with and we appreciated their intelligent esthetic suggestions.

Rocco and his team showed up on time, gave us an estimate in a timely manner. They were very prompt and did the repairs in far less time than we had anticipated. We recently hired Rocco from Landmark Designs to remodel a bathroom and paint our dining room. We are very pleased with the results and wouldn’t hesitate to hire him again for future remodels. Rocco works as a team with his son Rocco Jr. Rocco manages the overall project while Rocco Jr performs much of the work and is on hand throughout the job supervising the different trades people. Everyone involved in the job was highly competent, friendly and respectful. The job site was always kept tidy. They explained the complete process to me, made recommendations when necessary and were happy to work with me when things needed to be tweaked. They have a lot of experience with local suppliers and it’s worth listening to their recommendations. Both father and son were a pleasure to work with and I highly recommend their services.

Excellent - I was very leery that I would have to be living in the house while the kitchen was demo'd and the mess it would cause. However, Rocco made sure that all the debris was contained and cleaned up on a daily basis. It was a pleasure, once again to have Rocco and his team working at my house. I had the cabinets done, new back splash, new counter, appliances, sink and range hood installed. The entire project was completed in less than two weeks (which Rocco promised me, so that the kitchen would be up and running for New Year's Eve). He made good on his promise and my kitchen is amazing. The attention to detail and workmanship is why I chose Landmark Design for a second time. I highly recommend Landmark Design and am looking forward to our next project.

Rocco Umbro and his foreman son do excellent work. The project was completed on time and frankly we are thrilled with the quality of the work. We were not surprised as this was the second project Mr. Umbro has done for us. In the summer of 2015, he and his son oversaw the construction of a downstairs sun room and bathroom. Mr. Umbro knows all his sub-contractors personally and oversees their work insisting on professionalism and quality work. In addition he makes sure that the job site is cleaned up every evening which was particularly important to us as we were continuing to use the house while the remodeling was progressing. Mr. Umbro and his workmen were always courteous and a pleasure to have in our home. We recommend Rocco Umbro, his son and his company in the highest terms and we would definitely hire him again.

Rocco was great from beginning to end. He wasn't the absolute lowest quote we received but the price was fair and reasonable. Most important we felt that he would give us a great service and he did not disappoint. He began work on our project when he said he would (actually a day or 2 early) and arrived everyday at 8AM to oversee work for that day. When the bath supply store delivered the wrong tub and couldn't deliver the replacement for days, Rocco drove to the store and picked up the replacement to not lose time. We did not hire a designer and he was able to give valuable input to complete things. Of course we did run into a few hiccups in the demo due to some poorly done work from the previous owners. Rocco was able to get everything corrected without too much additional expense. He get's my highest accolades and recommendation.

<p>I have used Angie’s list many times to find contractors, but have never written a review until now. From the first phone call, I knew that working with Rocco would be a good experience. It turned out to be a great experience. The project, converting a loft into a bedroom, required carpentry, electrical, and architectural expertise. Rocco and his son Rocco, Jr. were very hands on, and kept me posted every step of the way. Rocco secured all of the necessary permits and was present for all inspections. He recommended an architect when new plans were required, and worked directly with the architect which was a great time saver for me. In addition, Rocco suggested other improvements such as enhanced overhead lighting in the bedroom and other areas of the home which have made the renovation that much better. Rocco and his team were on time, showed up when they said they would, left the work area clean, and turned what could have been a very stressful experience into a very pleasant experience. </p> <p> </p> <p>I strongly recommend Rocco Umbro and the team at Landmark Design. They are in a league of their own in the construction industry and I could not be happier with the way my project turned out. I look forward to working with them in the future as I make other improvements to my home.</p>

Rocco is highly experienced and professional contractor. This was a major kitchen renovation completed while we were inhabiting the house. <p>We are extremely pleased with the work of our contractor Rocco Umbro of Landmark Design. We are considering two additional s projects at the house and if we decide to undertake them, we will in all likelihood do so with Landmark Design.<br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> In preparing for this project, we determined that we needed the help of an architect to assist us with the design of the new addition in order that it would meet our functional goals and meld well with the rest of the house, and an contractor experienced in handling additions and renovations for older existing homes. We interviewed six contractors and four architects based on recommendations from friends, family members and long time service providers. We narrowed the field to two contractor/architect teams and selected Rocco Umbro of Landscape Design and the architect he had suggested, Rex Gedney of Crozier Gedney. We received Rocco's name from our most trusted long time service provider.<br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> We began the design process with Rocco and Rex in the fall of 2014 and completed it in early 2015. Rocco and Rex then began the permit application process and we signed the final construction contract with Landmark Design in early March and construction began later that month. Tthe project was substantially (95%) completed by mid July. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> During the construction it was very important to us to have full use of the main house as it serves as the base for weekly visits with our three daughters and their families which include 7 grandchildren. At the outset, we had identified several aspects of the project and our relationship with the contractor that were important to us including: accessibility to the contractor (ease of contact and rapid response), the quality of the work and attention to detail reflected in the work, the quality and supervision of the subcontractors, efficiency in coordination and the timeliness of the work, the cleanliness of the contractor and the subcontractors and the cost of the work. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> Rocco and Landmark Design met our full expectations in all respects. </p> Communication by email and telephone was always quick and Rocco always made time to meet with us regularly even though that often required weekend or early morning meetings. The subcontractors Rocco employed were uniformly excellent --they did high quality work, responded quickly to any requests or concerns we had, were invariably easy to work with and polite to us and to our various family members and friends. Rocco and his son were always in evidence with the subcontractors and we have no doubt that the quality and timeliness of their work reflected Rocco's close supervision. When issues arose, we found we could always discuss them even when we were changing our minds on something, and he and his son were excellent at coming up with solutions for the inevitable issues that arise when working on changes to an older house. Work progressed efficiently and Rocco and his son did and an excellent job of keeping things moving. The worksite was always kept neat and clean and we never had concerns when our grandchildren were visiting as equipment was always picked up and carefully put away at the end of each work day. We believe the cost was very reasonable for the work done and the quality of that work was excellent. We always felt that Rocco was looking for ways to save us money rather than the opposite. Finally and this is was important to us, it was a pleasant process. Our interactions with Rocco and his son and the subcontractors were pleasant and friendly and everyone seemed ready to go the extra mile to get things done the way we wanted them to be done.

Rocco was extremely professional throughout my dealings with him. He prepared me well for the work that needed to be done and walked me patiently through the process. He listened to all of my questions on his initial visit and offered his suggestions without being pushy or trying to sell me anything. When I asked for references for an engineer to survey my property, he found me one in my area that was affordable and just as professional. Rocco told me the work itself would take two days, but on the first scheduled day he showed up with a big team and was able to complete it in just one day. And to top it off, he left me with great instructions on how to grow the grass back in the area where he installed the well. All in all, the experience was a great one and Rocco will be my first call for any future projects. <br />

Our large, main family bathroom renovation was just completed by Landmark Design and we couldn?t be happier. The bathroom was original to the house (1972) and needed to be completely gutted. We called owner Rocco Umbro to make an appointment, he responded immediately, came to see the job , and promptly provided us an estimate. The estimate and contract were straightforward and easy to understand. Rocco advised when he could start, all the necessary steps, tradespeople needed, and how long it would take. He kept in contact with us right up to when he actually started the job which was on the day promised. We knew exactly when he or one of the other tradesmen were coming. They showed up as promised and scheduled throughout the renovation. We had two separate material delays mid-project, but Rocco adeptly managed to work us back into the schedule to finish within the time frame promised. The bathroom turned out beautifully and we are completely satisfied with the workmanship and overall experience. Rocco, his son, and the other tradesmen were excellent. The tile work is beautiful. We would definitely hire Landmark Design again for any other project and would not hesitate to highly recommend him to others. <br />

The project was a first floor renovation including powder room, kitchen, windows and doors. Kitchen and powder room were a complete gut down to the studs. Once again I used Landmark Design they came in on time and worked very well with my clients and Architect. The workmanship was very good, Rocco has the ability to put the right talent where it is needed. My firm is more than satisfied with Landmark and we do recommend him highly. Cost of the job was 185,000 plus material. The second floor will start in the early spring and Landmark will have the contract. <br />

I'm an interior Designer, and am happy to recommend Landmark Design. They are excellent at coordinating all of the necessary trades people, - it is a constant battle keeping everyone on schedule. When they say they will do something they show up, and are on time. they were clean about the demo, and i was pleased with the way the house was left everyday (not a dump). The quality of the job, was very high end - so using marble, wasn't an issue. Marble counter tops , tile in the shower - jacuzzi tub, toilet, double vanity sinks. - all came in on time and the Client is thrilled. If you need a master bath , kitchen , or powder room renovated - this is their specialty, i would strongly suggest you using Landmark. <br />
