Landscape Masters walked the site with us and based on the very generalized ideas we had, they created a design we loved for our patio and yard area. Their crew was professional and fast. They cleared the large area for our patio and lawn and installed pavers (very nice!) and artificial grass (again, very nice!). The design was very pleasing with curves and accents, not a boring cookie-cutter approach. They installed planters and trellises and the selection of plants looked good from the very beginning without having to wait months for the plants to start thriving. They cleaned up very well and left us with a beautiful and inviting patio and yard. <br /> During the installation, they communicated with us and treated us like we were their most important client. This was very important to us. We are extremely happy with their quality work, the professionalism of their crew, their thorough communication, and their outstanding customer service. <br />

Landscape Masters did an excellent job from start to finish.  We are in a new development in Rancho Mission Viejo and hired Landscape Masters to install pavers in our backyard.  They removed the concrete pad installed by the builder, removed dirt and graded the yard then installed pavers.  Our backyard is very small (about 500sf) and the whole process took about 4 days.  I have a large, 12 foot, bifold door that I was worried would be chipped with the removal of the concrete pad, but they were very careful and there were no issues.  We were given excellent choices in colors and styles of pavers as well as installation pattern.  The work has been completed for 6 weeks now and I have not had any issues.  All of the workers were respectful of our property, and they worked quietly and quickly.  They cleaned up the work area each day and left the final product looking amazing.  The price that I was quoted was not exceeded and when compared to other bids, the pricing was very fair.  I would highly recommend Landscape Masters, they did quality work at a fair price. <br />

The men worked fast and efficient. You do need to be there if you want to make sure everything is where and want you want but that's a given. Their work was clean and neat. Rich is great to work with makes sure you get what you want in your landscaping. <br />

I called 3 different contractors to get pricing and ideas on this project. I thought Rich was a good guy and liked his ideas, but he wasn't the most competitively priced. So I went back to him to see if he could work with me on the price, and fortunately he came down a bit so I selected them. <br /> He had very good design ideas, and really seemed to understand what it was I wanted to accomplish. For example, my existing paver pad a sweeping curves in it, and he added a new BBQ pad with a similar design. I felt that the work that was performed and the products that were used were of very high high quality. <br /> Landscaping is a fairly dirty job- materials get dropped off on the driveway, yards get torn up, jackhammers are used, etc. That being said, his workers did get a great job at cleaning up at the end of the day and minimizing the amount of 'mess' that was left over at the end of the day. <br /> Rich was good about communicating via email and text, which worked great for me. It was typically just a short message, but I usually wanted was a quick update. <br /> Some of the sod didn't take initially, so Rich's team came out and replaced it and updated a few sprinkler heads. <br /> The entire project took about a month, but we kept adding new things which stretched it out. <br /> I found Landscape Masters to be a very good vendor that did a great job for us. I would definitely use them again, and would recommend them to a friend. As with any contractor though, I recommend getting a few price quotes to make sure that you are getting a well-priced bid. <br />

Landscape Masters was one of three contractors that Landscape Locators referred me to. I selected them because they had a competitive price and the most experience with paver installation. <br /> The demolition was done in about 2-3 days - much quicker than I expected. Our back yard had two pergolas that were attached on one side and they were able to remove one of them without damaging the other one or the house. <br /> Installing the new gas line caused a minor issue because they shut the gas off without telling me which meant that we had no hot water the next morning. They profusely apologized and agreed that they should have notified us when that happened. <br /> Installation of the drains and sprinkler system went without incident. They installed plenty of drains around the yard and routed them all to the street. The sprinklers had much better coverage than the old system they replaced. <br /> The bulk of the time was spent installing the pavers, but their care and attention to detail was worth the wait. It turned out so much better than expected, including proper leveling towards the drains so no water could settle anywhere. <br /> There was a final snag a few weeks later when another landscaper came by to install the sod - the new sprinklers weren't hooked up to the control panel so Landscape Masters had to come back and fix that, but they were able to do so the day after I notified them so no major problem there. <br /> Overall I was very satisfied with the quality of their work and speed of completion. I need a retaining wall replaced and look forward to working with Rich and his crew again.

I am very unhappy with the service I got from Landscape Masters and would not recommend them. I feel so strongly about it that I'm also filing a formal complaint with the California State Contractors Board. I hired Landscape Masters to do a mixture of work in June of 2011 and I have divided my review into two main parts. <br /> <br /> Hardscape Work <br /> This was performed to my satisfaction. Concrete was demolished and removed. Pavers were installed in a raised patio. All of this was done almost on time and within budget. It's a shame that the rest of the job was done so poorly. If we had stopped here, this would be a completely different review. <br /> <br /> Landscape Work <br /> Weeds were pulled, new plants installed and a new drip system was put in place. <br /> <br /> This was a nightmare. When it came to the landscape work, Rich was irresponsible, unresponsive and incapable. <br /> <br /> Rich was unavailable at the end of the project (he went on vacation) and stopped responding to emails and phone calls. There were a few items of concern that I had (detailed below) and I really needed to talk to Rich. Apparently, he doesn't have an answering service or someone to take care of this while he's gone. As a customer, I felt like that should not have been my problem. <br /> <br /> Even when he returned from vacation, Rich was late or absent from several meetings with me that he agreed to. Several times his guys were supposed to come over and didn't. Rich even made excuses and blamed his people when they didn't show up. Again, this should not have been my problem. <br /> <br /> For the next couple of months I emailed, called and tried all manner of ways to get him to respond to me. It wasn't until I filed a complaint with the state board that he finally started being responsive. <br /> <br /> Drip System: <br /> They didn't put the drip down into the ground and did not put hold downs on top of the drip lines. Within a day or so, my two large dogs had moved the lines off of the plants. I repeatedly asked Rich about this issue specifically a few times before the installation and he repeatedly assured me that he had done this before many times and that the drip lines just needed to be buried. This didn't work and the dogs moved the lines as I suspected they might. After the installation I did research and found out about hold downs and their common usage for drip lines. Rich told me he had never heard of them. I had to send him information on them! This shouldn't have been my problem as a customer. If I hadn't complained to the state - he wouldn't have installed the hold downs and all of my backyard plants would be dead. <br /> <br /> They didn't install any pressure regulator valves on any of the timer valves. This resulted in the valves exploding a few times. On the third time, I researched and installed a regulator myself had him fix the others. Again, he would not have done this was without the threat of the state. This shouldn't have been something a customer should have to deal with. <br /> <br /> Bamboo <br /> He installed a running bamboo variety instead of a clumping variety that I asked for. I told him more than a few times that I wanted a clumping bamboo and not a running. He told me that it was clumping. Either he doesn't know the difference or lied to me. <br /> <br /> My conclusion is to avoid him at all cost.

The service was fabulous. We had no complaints whatsoever. They were prompt and completed it on time. They kept the worksite clean. We would totally recommend them. We would absolutely use them again.

They were pretty straightforward and honest. They did what they said they were going to do.

Landscape Masters started the very next business day after I met Rich. Within a day and a half, all of our old, cracked concrete patio and the ugly brick planters were gone. I don't envy the guys who had to haul all that stuff away. He and his team were very polite and hard working. They cleaned up the site every night before going home too. Little things like that meant a lot to us. I would not hesitate to use them again, especially for paver work.
