Paid for a Big Deal for yard cleanup. Had to try several times to contact company before they got back to me. A date was finally agreed upon. The company was a no-show.

Angie's list had a deal for up to 4 hrs of leaf removal, so we thought we would try them. We originally schedule a Monday at 9:00am, but they didn't show. When we finally contacted them (the voice mailbox was full), they thought it was for the following Monday. Ok, so there was a misunderstanding. So the next Monday comes and they don't show up again. There was snow on the ground, which was an exclusion in the deal, so we expected a notification that they weren't coming. None came until after we reached out to them. We were told that they had emailed, but we never received one. We rescheduled for Thursday at 9:00am. They called early Thursday to say they would be there in the afternoon. They finally did the work that day. I will say they got most of the leaves off the yard, but it looks like they ruffed up the turf some with their powerful vacuums. But most annoying was the large pile of leaves they left in the walkout, which I had to deal with so they wouldn't block the drain. So I'd say that they certainly removed the leaves from the yard, but they lacked finesse, weren't particularly careful at cleaning up afterward, and were hard to contact.

Jake called me the day after I purchased the special to set up a day/time. He and his crew of 2 others were able to come a day earlier than expected because the weather cooperated. It was lovely surprise to come home to a leaf free yard (front, back, and side) as they were finishing up! Mark, the crew supervisor, made sure that I was pleased with their work before paying the balance of the cost. He provided some ideas for landscaping my side yard which was overgrown with weeds, leaves, and stray ivy. Overall, they did a fantastic job in a professional manner. Would definitely use this company again!

Went very well. I have a SMALL townhome yard and flower garden and they spent just over half and hour cleaning the leaves and always asked if there was more to do, thus the "extra" things like border work and tree limbs. Wish businesses would scale their services for the smaller home rather than all the mcmansions.

It took several weeks to schedule the appointment (Big Deal purchased on June 7; appointment was for July 10.) However, the crew showed up on time. But to my deep disappointment, there were some missed items from the priority list and other problems. Below is the email I sent to them on July 27, after the work was done. I also provided photos to support my email concerns. (see below) As of the date of this review, I have not received a response to my email, which really concerns me because the priority work as requested was not completed. And we have been extremely busy with elder care, leaving no time for yard care, which is the reason I used Angie's List in the first place. Email Sent July 27, 2017 @3:25PM Hi Jake – My apologies for this delayed message. I have been getting my Mother settled now that she is out of the hospital and I’ve been under the weather too. Overall, your crew did a nice job cleaning up my front beds and trimming the barberries, except that they missed a major bed. The bed in front of the house with the birch tree was not touched at all. It needs to be cleaned out and edged. I spoke to Mark during the job and he advised me that the weed liner in the bed closest to the street with the large rock should be removed. The liner was old and degraded. I asked would he have the time to remove the liner but only after everything else was done? He said yes. Well, the liner is gone, but the one other priority bed in front of the house was not done. And that is something I cannot physically do. Also, one perennial and two vincas were mistakenly removed from the large bed with the mailbox. I personally planted three vincas around the flat rock, but only one remains. (see photo) Two had not flowered yet, but your crew should know the difference between a weed and a flower. (That is why I don’t have Steve clean up the weeds.) Also, a small perennial bush was also removed, planted only a foot or two from the vincas. I don’t know the name, but it is the same bush that is behind the large rock. (See photo) In that same bed with the large rock, the solar landscape lights that highlight the rock and the decorative ball lights behind the rock were not reinstalled. Please come back and clean out the birch tree bed and set-up the landscape lights and balls in the rock bed as part of my deal. I will replace the plants. Thanks – XXXXXXX [END EMAIL] I would not hire them again.

It was ok. At the last minute, there was a $100 charge for picking up mulch. I felt that was ridiculous and should have been part of the initial quite. I went and picked up the mulch myself. (It's Lowes, so you don't even walk into the store- just pull up and they load for you!)

"In our past experience with spreading weed and feed, we like to do it in the spring and second application in the fall, it seems to work better. That is why we have not been back for second treatment. so I think you poor review is pretty unrealistic since we did the first application."

I got an initial email that they would schedule with me soon. After 11 days, I emailed to ask if they had done the treatment. It apparently occurred a few days after that. I wasn't home when they came. I still don't know if they came for the 2nd treatment. Not enough communication. The grass does look better than usual though.
