Mr. LaPlace returned my call fairly promptly. We set a at time when he would come to evaluate the problem. He arrived a little early. Mr. LaPlace determined that the newest light was all right. He replaced a part on one of the others and that is now operating as it should. We were not certain about the third. We determined that we would not mess with it now and see how it works for a few weeks. I will have him back to replace that light in the spring when it is warmer and safer to climb the ladder.

I don't normally write reviews but this company that I've never used before was so prompt and helpful that I felt the need to actually write a review. Today I called La Place for the first time mid-morning and an electrician was at my house in 2-3 hours. He checked a bit and determined it was an AEP issue (of which I was skeptical). He showed me on the outside electric meter what the readings were and what they were supposed to be. He explained what sort of problem I had and told me how to explain it to AEP. He even rearranged some wiring so the furnace would run while I waited for AEP to fix the underground wires outside that feed into my house. He explained things well and took the time needed. I'd definitely use La Place Electric again! I haven't seen the bill yet, but I'm grateful that what I feared was a safety issue was not and I'm grateful I didn't have to take any more time off work waiting for an electrician. And a thanks to AEP also. They dug up the underground wire in my yard and repaired it that evening in the dark! I'm now back to full power.

Overall negative experience. We saw the good reviews on Angie's List and called them. The gentleman who answered stated that his man was off due to a funeral and he would not be able to come till a few days later. So as promised, a few days later someone from the company came. He basically walked down to the basement, and without checking anything, noted that the bulbs were LEDs and stated that the reason the bulbs were flickering was that they were LEDs. We mentioned that they were dimmable LEDs and they had not done that in over a year that we had them. He said, well that's just what LEDs do, said the invoice will be in the mail for a service call, and left. At the very least, we feel, he should have put in a non-LED bulb to test out his diagnosis. So just to test out the diagnosis that we did not feel was correct to begin with, we bought regular dimmable bulbs and replaced our LEDs. As expected, they were still flickering. Shortly thereafter, received an invoice for $70. So I called and think spoke to the same person I spoke with originally, explained the situation, I felt in a polite manner, and asked for the invoice to be waived. With very minor paraphrasing, he said that "fine, I will waive it if you do not want to pay, but it is a manufacturer's defect that you are blaming us for, and it upsets the heck (actually used a stronger word) out of me that people do not want to pay when it is not our fault." I felt he missed the point and tried to point out again that the issue was not the LED bulbs as even regular bulbs flickered and he replied "...and that's supposed to be La Place's fault?" and hung up. I called back to see if he was indeed going to waive the fee as he had not gotten my name or any information, and he said "I said I will waive it, I don't need any information." I imagine he has caller ID or just remembers us. Anyhow, the experience was overall negative because I do not feel the original diagnosis seemed to make sense, turned out to be incorrect, and no diagnostic effort was made to figure out the problem, and then even though the fee was waived, my call to them was handled in somewhat of a rude fashion. I am sure others have had a good experience with them but ours was not so good.

Was here within 1 hour after calling the same day, electrician was troubleshooting and found problem immediately and fixed. Total time was about 40 minutes

Dog destroyed original timer by jumping on it. Husband replaced the timer with new one from Lowe's. But, there were 3 wires while he was only accustomed to 2 wires. Explained it to Oscar over the phone. He thought it would be simple to fix and sent Bud out two days later (wasn't in any hurry). Bud called and arrived on time. Fixed in 20 minutes - a service call only. Very happy with LaPlace and would use them again.

Bud arrived around 10 a.m. & quickly started replacing light fixtures & ceiling fan. Capped cam light & installed & centered new light over counter. He then installed 3 GFI's & replaced all existing 2 light switch plates with new plates & switches & 2 outlets. <br /> He did a great job, knows what he's doing & we will definitely call La Place Electric, INC again. <br />

I called on a Friday afternoon and he met me at my house 90 minutes later. He was polite and got right to business and figured out the problem very efficiently:). Overall I was very impressed and the price was fair.

They were going to charge me $75.00 an hour for five hours I think. He was kind of expensive. I checked with him about what they would do if one of the guys finishes beforehand for which they confirmed that if they finished beforehand then they won’t charge me. They wrote this down on my contract too. They got it done in three and half hours or something like that. They over charged me because instead of cutting that half an hour they charged me for the extra half hour in a sneaky way which would have made it four hours. I was there when the work got done and then the place was turned around and charges for an extra half an hour. This did not make any difference I am guessing because they did a pretty good job. I know electricians are expensive. They were pretty quick. They took an hour off of what he would have normally charged me. The thing that was nice about them was that I didn’t even have to pay anything down to get the work started and they were really nice about not billing me. I paid him a month later and they were not calling me all the time and asking me for the money.
