Larkin Heating & Cooling

AC system failed during a recent heat wave. I had 2 separate companies look at my system and inform me that I needed to replace both the inside and outside units due to a blown compressor, despite my AC system only being 3 years old. Not happy with the estimates, I called Larkin to get a 3rd opinion. Larkin provided me with some direction over the phone to try first in an effort to avoid the dispatch fee. I called back when that didn't work and Ryan came out that evening. After a thorough diagnostic look into my system, it was determined that I needed a new outside system. Price quoted was half of what I had previously received. They were over the following day and did another comprehensive assessment to ensure that a new system was in fact required. The outdoor system was installed and works great. I highly recommend Larking Heating & Cooling.

Thought my AC fan motor had failed but technician found it was the capacitor.

Jessie was the tech who was here for the service. He was great. Friendly and provided the right advice. Spotted the issue spot on. <br /> I am a DIY person and did my initial troubleshooting but was not aware of what was going on and called a professional. Would definitely recommend them and will go to them next time. <br />

<p>Larkin HVAC will be my go-to company from now on whenever I have heating or ac issues! They are competent, capable and honest.  Jesse and Anthony are both excellent technicians, and I don't give those compliments lightly. What's most important is I felt that I could trust their assessments, advice and recommendations. A company is only as good as the repairmen who work for them, so good job Larkin HVAC, as both of these men deserve outstanding kudos! </p> <p>We have an old 2 story home with serious temperature differences from the basement to the main level to the second story.  The venting is the issue, but short of ripping out walls, what do you do? Jesse did diagnostics and determined it would help to open up the throat of the furnace to help with return air. Anthony did excellent vent workmanship while Jesse installed a much better thermostat, fishing wire through the walls from the main level to the basement; he also re-routed a vent to improve airflow upstairs.  I have serious asthma and though I'd had the vents cleaned previously, Jesse and Anthony alerted me to the large amount of debris in my vents (meaning the cleaning company didn't do what they said they did!). When I couldn't find anyone else I could trust, even though Larkin doesn't clean vents, Anthony came back out and did an excellent job. He also let me know my humidifier wasn't working properly and changed the filter.</p> <p>Anthony and Jesse treated my home like their own. They were highly professional, nice, tidy and solutions-oriented.  I am so grateful to them and Larkin will be my go-to heating and cooling company from now on. Ryan - was so efficient - he came in on a Sunday with a very reasonable rate....which being single really helped me out tremendously - I was freezing - fixed the furnice in 1 minute.....thank u so much I will recommend him to all family and friends. Sunday morning, at the end of a long holiday weekend, freezing and dank outside, of course at this time the heater went out. We called Larkin, which sent a repairman right over. With no more work than was necessary, the heater is now working! Despite the inconvenient time, the repairman, whose name is Anthony, was cordial, and, patiently and knowledgeably, he answered all of our many questions. Terrific service at an economical price! <br />   <br /> <br /> <br />

I had an appointment with another company that I used in the past, but they couldn't make it until Thursday, this is the hottest week of the year so far and I couldn't wait so I looked for someone else and picked Larkin.  I called and they told me they would have someone out that afternoon.  Jesse came out and had me chillin in just a few hours.  They were there quick and got the job done to keep the whole house from frying in this heat. <br />

<p>I am very pleased with Larkin. When I first called, I explained that I had another company look at my system, and their technician was recommending that full replacement was the best option. I was hoping to repair my air conditioner rather than full replacement at this time. Ryan, the owner, answered the phone and recommended that I make sure that there was a new furnace filter before sending someone out to see if this solved the problem. I realized that the first company didn't even check the furnace filter. I replaced it but was still having a problem so I called Larkin's back to schedule an appointment. </p> <p>The technician arrived and checked my system. He pulled out the blower motor and realized that it was really dirty. He then checked the coils in the furnace, and they were also dirty. He suggested that this could be impacting the air flow, and it would be an option to clean these and see if it solved the problem. He was honest, and let me know that the furnace is probably toward the outside of its service life, but worth trying to solve the problem. </p> <p>He spent several hours cleaning the fan and the coils. So far my air conditioner is functioning again. I appreciate that the Larkin technician was willing to take the time to trouble shoot the problem.</p> <br />

He was on time, polite, quick, thorough, and honest. <br /> He completed the furnace checks efficiently.  He gave his honest opinion on what humidifier system would work best in our home and didn't try to upwell us unnecessarily.  He gave us quotes on 3 different systems ranging from $500-$1000+.  He suggested the mid range system (which we have been very happy with)  He also did not try to sell us on a system for both of our furnaces - he explained that it was only necessary on 1 system.   <br /> we will be using them again for our yearly A/C check soon. <br />

What a friendly, professional man.  We had Larkin himself come and help us.  He even came on a Sunday!  He guaranteed his work and offered services for our air conditioning needs in the summer.  I'll definitely be using Larkin again for my heating and air needs. <br />

We have used Larkin several times for HVAC repair and will continue to do so. Ryan is always very competitive, professional and honest.

He did a good job. He showed up when he said he was going to. We had a problem with one that he installed and he came back and took care of it right away.

He made a service call to check out the furnace. Because he thought we would be pleased with the price and service, he didn't,t charge us for this initial visit. However, because my brother runs a construction company, he was subsequently able to get us a deal from one of his subcontractor's: otherwise we would surely have used this contractor. <br />
