I WANT A REFUND!! A month ago we got the filters installed. During installation they lifted our shingles (which you can clearly see now). When we were sold this product we were promised that our shingles would not be touched. Thankfully it rained the same day of installed so that we were able to see that due to installation it caused our roof to leak onto our porch. It rained the day before and there was no leakage. We had two managers come out and they gaslit us telling us it was the roofs age causing the shingles to lift up which is not the case because we just bought this house 2 months ago and had an EXTENSIVE inspection. The managers also tried to fix their mistake and added silicon under the shingles which obviously didn't work. We also had a roofer and contractor out to look at the roof and both said the leaking is due to leaf filter. We greatly over paid, had a poor job done AND now have to spend more to get our roof fixed and gutters adjusted to be lower (which were raised). I WANT A REFUND because this is ridiculous. I work in social media marketing and work with high up people and will do what I can to get the word out there.

Aggressive sales tactics. The installers were not leaf filter but contractors they hire. The overall installation looks like a half bake job, horrible finishes, left screws , clamps and metal shavings all over my patio, grass and front yard. Horrible experoence and horrible installation. We are very disappointed we choose them for gutter guard installation. Most expensive.

A LeafFilter sales person sold me what the company calls a "clean and reseal" job, which the sales person assured me would include the repair of several problematic features of my gutter system. Chief among these were re-hanging the gutters to more fully capture the runoff from the roof. I asked the salesman pointblank if these repairs were included, and he said "yes absolutely." When the contractor arrived weeks later, it turned out he was not informed of these repairs and was unprepared and unable to complete them. He proceeded to do the basic components of the job, and spent a couple of hours adding some silicone caulk and a handful of nails to my system. I called LeafFilter and the salesman several times while the contractor was onsite to try and figure what went wrong and resolve the issue, but was unable to get through to anyone. I never heard from the salesman again, but LeafFilter informed that the promised repairs were not part of the package I purchased, despite what the salesman told me. I was billed over $3000 for this "service" and only refunded a third of that, despite being lied to. Moreover, the business refused to provide me a breakdown/itemization of the cost of such a project to justify the price. I would never have agreed to this "service" if it had been represented honestly and accurately. I filed a complaint the BBB, but LeafFilter still refuses to make things right. As if that wasn't enough, as soon as fall/winter weather began, it became clear the cleaning and sealing performed by the contractor was subpar at best. There are several seams of the gutter system (the most obvious places to attend to for a sealing project) that continue to produce icicles, leak water create ice patches on the sidewalk, and expose my foundation to runoff that should be directed to the downspouts. One area in particular still resembles an all out waterfall when it's raining! The system is in no better condition than before LeafFilter sent a contractor to fix it up. I called LeafFilter to resolve this, and they have repeatedly screwed up the scheduling, first canceling after the agreed upon window passed, and then showing up more than 2 hours before the agreed upon window while I wasn't home. Once or twice, I can understand this kind of thing, but LeafFIlter demonstrates a pattern of unprofessionalism, poor communication, and manipulation. This company is incompetent at best, and malicious in my opinion and experience. I can't speak to the quality of their product, but their business practice and service system seems only set up to extract money from people. I do not recommend anyone engage this company and encourage it's subcontractors to sever their professional partnerships. You can do better!

The product is defective. Their warranty is deceptive and useless. They guarantee your gutter won’t clog, because they know their filter on top of your gutter does clog, preventing anything from getting through the mesh, including the rain water. The water then pours over the gutter everywhere causing home damage. They do not remove the filter, refund money, or do anything else when you complain. They cut off contact. They just settled a class action lawsuit against them which details how the product is defective, how Leaffilter engages in false and deceptive advertising, and knowingly defrauds customers. Read it, it tells you everything that you need to know, the truth. Don’t go by most ratings. They remove negative comments from all social media platforms and other sites that they can. They always deny any wrongdoing and will tell you to go ahead and try to sue them in small claims court for damages to your home and cost of filter removal because they have corporate lawyers at their disposal. This product does not work and makes you worse off after purchasing. You are much better off paying to have your gutters cleaned twice a year. You will regret purchasing this filter system.

they came out installed, never tested with a hose. Now none of the water goes into the gutters because it overshoots the gutters. They told me they NEVER install over the drip edge, and then the next day when they saw the debacle done at my home, they then told me the only way to do it is through the drip edge. I have called their call center number.... only number for them and have gotten 3 months of "I am going to forward this request to the regional manager and they will contact you by tomorrow at 4:00PM." No one has gotten back to me in months. I call every two days and document every conversation, with whom and the times and what they promised. Save yourself the heartburn and the ridiculous amounts of money.

Extreme buyers remorse. The sales rep was over the top in every way. After a very thorough and much rehearsed presentation we were presented with options and prices. We fell for the discount offered for an immediate decision to purchase. We are kicking ourselves for paying what is obviously too much for a product that doesn't fulfill its promises. I still have to climb up on the roof several times a year to blow off debris stuck on the screen. For the amount of money we paid for the product we could hire a professional to clean out our gutters several times a year for several years. Crazy!

terrible customer service The product itself is great, the instalation and customer service after we paid was horrible. Especially with the operations manager Rick. We paid 4000.00 to have these installed on a Monday, Friday we had a big rain and the main down spout was clogged, I had to go out and pull it down and unclog it. I immediately called the service line but they could not get anyone out to look at it. It took them 3 days do finally get out to the house and inspect it again. I had to follow up 3 times i never received a call back until Rick finally called back after they came out 4 days later. The satisfaction money back guarantee is just a scam, as I was not satisfied that the scope of work was not done as I was told it would be. Make sure if you use this company to go out and watch everything the installers do. I was told all the down spouts would be removed and checked for clogs and they were not. Rick the operations manager proceeded to tell me because I went out and fixed it i broke the warranty agreement and sould have let the water just back up so it could run into my basement, that was the last straw for me and our conversation ended. Again great product but terrible service after the installation. again 4000.00 and I had to go out in the rain and fix what they were supposed to. Date of experience: May 19, 2023

LeafFilter is an absolute scam. It’s in your best interest to stay as far away from this company as possible. When the salesman, Roger, came to my house he promised a few things: 1. Debris would never lay on top the gutter guards because of the way it’s installed on a slope. He mentioned that this was very important for functionality but also for aesthetics. 2. The system would NEVER get clogged. Impossibility period the end. 3. Rain water would flow through the system and downspout. He went on to tell us some of the competitors products are so tight that they repel rain water and water flows over the top and will ultimately damage the house. 4. If any of the above mentioned issues occur or I’m not 100% satisfied then there’s a no hassle money back guarantee. I’ve only had LeafFilter installed for 5 months and I’ve experienced all of the problems listed above. Stuff gets stuck in the gutters and tons of debris lay on top the LeafFilter systems not just for a day or two but for weeks. Even though the salesman said debris will never lay on top of LeafFilter because of the way it is designed I was reasonable and wanted to see if wind and or rain took care of the debris that lays on top - it did not. When it rains steadily water doesn’t go through the gutters it goes overtop of them like a waterfall. Three people who work the homebuilder who built my home during 2021 came out and observed everything I described. These individuals have a combine 75+ years in homebuilding. They independently recommended I remove LeafFilter because they are concerned that it is ultimately going to cause substantial damage to my home. When I first contacted LeafFilter to explain the problem I dealt with a local manager who was abrasive and condescending. He told me that I needed to be reasonable and that any gutter guard system would cause the issues I’m describing. I explained to him I paid a premium for LeafFilter with the expectation that I would not have any of the issues I experienced. He replied by saying as a courtesy he would send someone out ASAP to clean the system out and remove the debris sitting on the system, which he did. We ended the conversation by him telling me I was lucky I’m not being charged for the service. When a technician came out he got on my roof and began cleaning the system. He threw the debris all over my driveway, patio, flowerbed, and lawn. I monitored him the entire time. He strategically removed debris and then took pictures of specific areas where debris had be collected on splash guards that the builder installed. A few weeks later I called LeafFilter back to report that I see more debris and I’m continuing to see water flow over top the gutters and not through them. I made it clear that I want a refund and that I’d no longer deal with the local manager. They escalated my case to Don Karmasek, a regional manager. Don was very responsive; however, he exuded arrogance during our conversations but maintained some level of professionalism. He explained that there’s a process before he can authorize a refund but initially agreed he was concerned about my home being damaged. Don referenced the pictures the first tech took that made it appear that the only problem was the splash guards; therefore, he recommend I remove them. I explained to Don that the builder strongly advised that I leave the splashguards where they are. I was not entirely convinced Don was the sole decision maker so I told him I’d reach out to Matt Kaulig, the founder. This rubbed him the wrong way. I explained my intention was not to overstep but to fight for my interest. Don promptly sent someone out to re-examine the roof. This time around after the 1st major cleaning most of the debris was indeed sitting where the splash guards are. This was not surprising as it was winter and not fall. During the fall there was debris everywhere. The game they play is they always make it seem like it’s someone else’s fault not LeafFilters. Don told me the only thing he could do for me is have someone come out at no charge and clean the gutters 3 times per year and have someone remove the splashguards against the homebuilders advice. I told Don this is unacceptable and that I want my money back and I would eat the cost to pay for labor to have LeafFilter removed. Don told me he would seriously consider giving me a refund and made it clear that if/when he does get back to me about a refund his decision is not based on any threats I made to leave bad reviews, share my bad experiences, or escalate the claim to Matt Kaulig or anyone above him at LeafFilter or Gridiron Capital. He said he felt bad that I felt scammed and that we would come up with a better solution that worked for me because the collection of debris was only one issue. The biggest issue at hand is the fact that when where there are no splash guards the LeafFilter system repels water and it flows over top the system and not through the gutters and downspouts. He made it clear that I had rubbed him the wrong way and that he felt I was making threats and trying to bully him. I can forward you text messages and emails I sent him explaining that I’m not a bully and that I’m simply someone who fights for my interests. I’d be happy to share those emails and text messages with anyone. Don also made it pretty clear that if he did not refund me it’s because I “made him feel a certain type of way.” This conversation occurred on a Friday, Don left me a voicemail the following Monday. By Wednesday, Don emailed me saying the only solution he could offer the free cleanings and removal of the splash guards. His decision and the way he left me hanging over the weekend because he needed to “cool off” was purely emotional and immature. Someone hired to do Don’s job should never want to see something get escalated above him.

Installation was quick. Within 3-4 weeks we had our first snow (1-2 inches) and rain. It sat on the filters, the water did not go into the gutters and flood our home. The company is refusing to remove the defective product or refund us, despite having a lifetime warranty. We also found out that there is a class action law suit against this company for this reason. When we asked our sales rep, he said that this was the first case "in our area" and that he didn't "not say he didn't know" about the lawsuit. One of their selling points was that they have such high reviews from Angie's List. This is a scam. DO NOT BUY

I came across this product at an exhibit booth at an unrelated convention, the initial quality of the product appeared superior to many systems out there so I set up a sales appointment. The appointment went as can be expected with any large commercial home improvement company, that is a bit high pressure, but outside of that it was pleasant enough. I've been around home construction for around 40 years now so I'm familiar enough with quality solutions. I'd already identified this as such and could have skipped most of the sales pitch (not delivering the full script seems to always throw off salesman :)). As I was replacing a current system for which the company had gone belly up, and thus the service guarantee worthless, I had done my homework for this sales call on the product, and was solely looking to determine the proposed cost for the project. I was a bit surprised when the installer came out and was operating solo. A helper probably would made for a better job. Bottom line on the installation....The removal of my old gutter system left holes in the facia where the screws for the old system went through, and some flashing around the old system restricting the flow of water back behind the facia was removed. It would have been wise calk and flash these areas accordingly, and it's required by the building code. Instead the new system was installed leaving the areas not previously susceptible to water damage now susceptible. The front of the house came out pretty close to perfect. The rear looks a bit wavy, which I presume is because without the aid of an additional hand to help hold the 40+ ft of seamless gutter, some drooping occurred. The good news is that the 2 days following the installation provided flash flood conditions and the new system appears to have zero overflow from the gutters. I'm adjacent to the woods so I'll update this review for the systems continued effectiveness in a leaf heavy environment. I'll also provide a post service review as to the installation deficiencies in the rear of the house previously noted. Hope the review helps!

I purchased these gutter guards with the understanding that the warranty greatly enhanced their value. I was wrong. Because of all of the rain we have had in Maryland, I had to get my roof replaced. In order to have my roof replaced and installed pursuant to Maryland's Ice and Drip Shield requirements, the gutter guards had to be removed. I have tried unsuccessfully for two weeks to have someone come out and re-install the gutter guards. You are not given a direct dial number to the actual Maryland contractor. Instead you are forwarded to a 1800 number where no one calls the contractor but passively sends an email which the Maryland Contractor ignores. When the contractor finally called me back he assured me that he would pull my file and give an estimate on the reinstall. I never heard from him. I had to call the 1800 number 3 more times before they actually connected my call to contractor to schedule an appointment time. He mentioned my file was sitting on his desk and seemed quite belligerent for no apparent reason. On the day of the reinstall,-no one confirmed the appointment or showed up. Leaf Filter's follow-up customer care is non-existent. Don't waste your money based on their promises of a warranty. It may be a quality product but it is not protecting my gutters sitting on the ground. How good can Leaf Filter be if no-one addresses your concerns or follows up with your requests. LeafFilter's customer service is unacceptable at any price, but at $2500 for a small cape cod, it is a downright "rip-off".

The installation seemed to go smoothly. We did not have any problems during the installation. We didn't have rain that time. But in May of this year we had heavy rain that caused the gutter to overflow and ended up flood in our basement and caused mold. When we had the issues in the basement in late May of this year I contacted LeafFilte and they sent out a guy to check the gutter and informed me that the guy who initially installed the system made a couple of mistakes which caused the overflow. He said he fixed the problem and took pictures and said he would send them to us.

Bob Haire was excellent salesman, when he sold the product to us, but from there on I could not get in touch nor would he return calls and follow up. The product itself just does not work, I still have the same results and it is necessary to get up there and clean off the top of this "leaf filter". The sad part of this waste of money, I'm still paying on it!!

They did a very good job. Everyone was polite and professional. The work was done promptly with follow-up quality control. It was more expensive than some other brands, but it appeared to be the best value. It is a little too early to tell how things will go with the summer downpours, but so far everything is good. I am looking forward to not climbing ladders in rainstorms again.

The installation went very well but there was a problem with the product, and there still is. It was never fully resolved because the parent organization in Ohio was not supportive and, indeed, the CEO was downright rude. The local group did as much as they could on their own.

"Hi! We're sorry to hear you are dissatisfied with your service experience. Any warranty service and repairs are done for our customers at no charge. A fee may have been quoted if your installation is over a year old, as there can be a lot that can happen to a home in a year, many of which could affect gutters and gutter guard installation, but are not caused by the LeafFilter installation. While not an all-inclusive list, here are some of the factors which can influence gutter and gutter guard performance: houses settle and shift over time; roof, fascia, and soffit components can deterioriate over the years; or environmental factors like storm and tree damage. If you would like to discuss your concerns further, please feel free to call our service department at 1800749455 and we will ensure a manager follows up with you to address your unique situation."
