Lester's Painting

<p>I have waited a few weeks to write this so that I can approach my review with more logic than anger. To start, I believe Lester is a well intentioned man and in fairness, if you need him to paint a house, shed or anything else - I believe his company will do a good job. If you need anything stained - RUN! The bottom  line is that his team did not properly prep the surfaces of our home NOR our decks to stain them evenly. Lester's fix for this was to just keep adding sprayed on coats of the same stain over very poorly prepped areas. It was so badly done on the house that we finally conceded to just have them paint it for which Lester was very angry about and he charged us an additionally $600 to do (which we had to argue down). Once they painted it - it looked pretty good. While painting, they did spray some outdoor lights and not clean them and they did pull the outdoor ceiling fan down to paint and after we asked them to please put it back - it fell down 2 days later and broke - ($350 fan-thanks). They broke a steel stand on a Chimnea which Lester DID fix. His father and son team did not show the first two days they were scheduled for which Lester threw them under the bus. Then they showed and had to leave for two days for another job (which Lester said they would never do EXCEPT this one exception). Overall that team of two were pretty nice people once we got passed them trenching our yard and becoming angry because they had to move the van to let other contractors put dirt in the driveway (apparently it was too far to go to their van in the street). The stain on our decking is a total loss. The powerwashing preparation was completely awful and the stain is extremely inconsistent. We will have to re-do it on our own. The amount he charged us for this job was outrageous and he continued to complain about how much the job was costing him. We estimated the cost of the supplies and I have been in the employment business for 25 years so I know his employment costs and we know he made a killing on this very poorly completed job. We were happy to pay his final check to have him just leave. He didn't have the decency to even show up to collect his final check and there was not one "thank you" for our business along the way.  $15,600. It was a terrible investment and a wonderful lesson learned on our part. </p>

It has always been a great experience working with him, he is very flexible with his time, since we are a restaurant, he can always come after we close, so it won't interrupt with our business hours. He is very professional, he really knows what he is doing, and the cost for service is very reasonable. Thanks for the great work Lester's painting. <br />
