Level5 Contracting

Electrical for Home Addition or Remodel - Install, Electrical for Home Addition, Electrical Wiring or Panel Upgrade,

About us

Due to so much activity from Angie's List I am able to take calls but I am booking appointments 3 weeks out. Level5 is a relatively small company that primarily specializes in residential construction. We take great pride in our work and all work is guaranteed for a year. I myself have over 15 yrs. of experience and have a background in architecture, and engineering. This company was originally Dover Construction which specialized in commercial construction and work on military bases. All Angie's members are eligible for a 20% discount. I do use subcontractors on projects that involve extensive electrical and plumbing work

Came in late and stayed for 10 - 15 minutes. Definitely didn't feel i was getting the "2 hour" special.
The painter had to reschedule, and on the day he came out he did not complete all of the work.

I wasn't very pleased with him. He was nice guy but he seemed like he was just starting out his business. The main issue was scheduling but he did some good work. He wasn't very personable and engaging. He could have been more reliable and responsive. Other than that, he was a good worker.

The person who did the job smelled of cigarette smoke and was not able to do the tasks-- install A/C window units and TV wall mounting without a LOT of guidance.
Kevin was repeatedly late for appointments and even skipped a few. Worst of all, a mirror he hung over my fireplace just fell this week and shattered, nearly injuring me. He promised to come over today. As usual he was very late, and when he got here there was no apology, just a false statement that he had told me the anchor would not hold and that he was "doing me a favor" by coming over to fix it. I never want to see him again and strongly recommend that nobody hire him.

Crown moulding - poor job. Seams are showing, adhesive is showing and I ran out of molding ( short about 2 feet). He should have called me (unfortunately I was at work) to communicated that to me. I would have had him purchase that last piece and reimburse him. Instead he left as if the job was complete. Never returned to finish.
Work was slow to start - In part because we were out of town, and in part, the provider had a number of delays which caused us a bit of concern. However, the provider was very professional and knowledgeable about the project. It was a harder job than we had anticipated (replacing the posts) and he did an excellent job. We were completely satisfied with the finished project.
This was a bad experience. He left a mess in our home and didn't do a good job. This deal was supposed to be for 6 hours of work, but instead 2 people came and worked for 3 hours each. This was misleading and it took more time than we thought. There was spackle left on our walls, tile wasn't laid evenly, etc.

He did a great job. He accuratley dignosed the problem and solved it. He went above and beyond and I would use him in the future.

Six hours of labor was purchased at the end of March. A month later Level 5 contracting and I coordinated a start date. I had 5-7 items to be repaired. Once the work began one thing lead to another. Meaning bigger problems were revealed that caused delays and paired the list down as to what could be completed. Fixing the laundry room wall revealed a leak in plumbing. The vendor estimated it would cost between $500-$700 to repair and would take more than the 6 hours I had paid for. I was able to get a plumber to repair the pipe for $300. Level 5 contracting was flexible and returned after the source of leak was revealed to finalize drywall and remaining task. Between when the drywall was drying however another water problem came to light when it rained for a week which meant the drywall was left unfinished. This was no fault of the vendor. The vendor left trash in the laundry room between jobs. That is a recommendation for improvement. Clean up behind themselves. The venders work on the other completed items were acceptable.
The contractor came out to my house 3 times. The first time he was 25 minutes late and didn't call, the second time it was a thunderstorm in which I thought he was going to call and cancel but he didn't and after he was an hour late I called to see if he was still coming and he was a bit rude and arrived 1 hour and 15 minutes late, and then asked if I wanted to reschedule due to the storm. The third time it was sunny outside and he was an 1 hour and 30 minutes late and never called. This was a big inconvenience for me and he did not even apologize or say anything regarding him being late. The paint on the ceiling bubbled up in a part of the ceiling that he puttied, sanded, and painted. The area in the entry way that he puttied and sanded was not sanded all the way and you can tell and it looks bad. He missed two places in the shower that need to be caulk. I will never use this contractor again and I will not refer him to anyone. This was a waste of my money.
