Had a total roof replacement and notice a leak several months later. Took multiple trips over two months to finally fix the water leak. As a result of the water leaking into the dining room, our wood flooring had mold and severe warping needing a total replacement. Lewis & Son refuses to pay for the floor replacement as a result of their improper roof installation.

Quality of the roof? Pretty good. They did it fast and it seems of good quality. Customer service? Horrendous. The roof was supposed to be part of an insurance claim taking care of water damage from a roof leak. We were supposed to have both the roof and interior work completed and it was understood that one did not come without the other because it was an insurance claim. Due to them writing the estimates out wrong, we signed on the roof portion to get it started and were told that we would have the interior repair estimates to sign on soon. I was told that the interior repair estimates would be ready soon time and again. When the roof was completed, they completely disappeared. Prompt to request the check for the roof and then gone forever. I called well over 30+ times trying to get the interior repairs completed, both to the front office and to the management directly. I left voicemail after voicemail. No calls were ever returned. We were forced to find another contractor to complete the interior repairs and it made the insurance process even more of a headache because we had to explain why we had to switch contractors. In addition to the worst customer service I have ever witnessed, they struck a freon line in the process of installing the roof. They took care of the problem, but never admitted that initial inspections could have been done to avoid the problem in the first place. We basically got the response of "well it's not our fault we struck the line but we'll take care of it". There are also a few locations in the corners where the roof meets brick that they did not seal well. As I said, pretty good quality on the roof but the customer service was completely bad and unprofessional. Please do your research and find someone better than this company. I wish I had...

After talking with Shane Lewis and his Foreman (Paco Chavez) I felt so comfortable with their knowledge of the issues relating to my previous repair (Continental Roofing) that I requested to replace the whole roof instead of just a repair. I was kept in the loop the whole time and any concerns were addressed. Mr Lewis has such a country nature it put me at ease and if I ever have any issues in the future he has my trust. I would recommend Lewis & Sons for anyone who has a roofing problem.

It could not have gone better. Even though they got in to my chimney and found some pretty bad damage due to improper chimney cap from when I purchased the home, they were able to make all repairs necessary and install a new chimney cap and re-built my entire chimney box from roof line up and still got finished in a reasonable time. The guys were there early everyday, were friendly, and the hardest workers I have ever seen. Even though they ended up having to work on the weekend to get the chimney work done, they stuck right with it every day and I never once saw them standing around not working. They were constantly cleaning up, keeping the job site as good as possible for me. They smiled and spoke every time they saw me. They watched out for me as I entered and exited my house to keep me protected. They pointed out anything they thought I should be aware of - just great guys! Shane Lewis is excellent to work with. He is prompt and professional and absolutely does what he says he will. He is reasonable to work with and honest about what has to be done. He has done 4 roofs for me now, and I wouldn't even CONSIDER any one else. Any time I have ever had any issue at all, there he was, right on the spot, taking care of it. He and his guys were available, courteous and kind. You get what you pay for. All roofers are NOT the same. These folks are the best in my book. The architectural shingle is gorgeous and worth the extra cost in my opintion.

How did it go? It didn't go well. Being a two-story structure, I'd asked the lead to check for rotten siding I couldn't easily identify and replace everything that was in bad shape, only to find that much was apparently missed, and that only a few years after the new siding went up, that too was already rotting -- I can't be sure how much blame to place on the inferior material and how much on the areas where I could plainly see gaps between siding panels. There were spots that I found myself having to seal myself after they were done, that which I could reach, because the gaps were so obviously going to be an issue. The first time the painter came out, he had painted the front door the wrong color, even though I'd supplied a sample swatch from the store they did business with. He repainted, but still unevenly, so that the darker color the door had been (from a dark blue-green to a deep red, without priming first ) still showed through...and there were drips that had to be sanded. He sprayed the exterior and got paint on the screens that hadn't been removed, and that finish was also uneven -- I still have a spot on my front facade that is darker than the rest of the house because the grey of the siding shows through the inadequate layers of paint there. The most annoying of this was the copper roof we paid sufficiently for, but only got a half...ahem...job done. The bends are sloppy, seaming less than stellar, and the roof itself hangs away from the siding to allow gaps, open access to the siding, and overall appears really shoddy. Up close, it looks like an amateur had his way with this, as if it was his first. I had to have someone come out again to try and fix this, but what they left us with was no great improvement. Many years later, I am still very disappointed. I continuously found cigarette butts all over my property, in the trampled (newly planted) garden and in my empty concrete planters. Much of the smaller construction debris (pieces of siding, paint cans, etc.) filled my city receptacle for pickup, rather than being taken away by the workers. We had real shutters put up to replace the faux shutters, and one of the workers had to crawl in from the outside of the window, into the upstairs bedroom, and when he did that he placed too much weight on the sill and cracked the trim away from the wall, and then acted as if he was unaware of what he'd done even though I was standing there when it happened. I was so fed up at that point, after everything else, that I just wanted them all gone. The images I've included are of the copper roof after the last effort the roofer made to better the job, trying to straighten bends and 'fix' the gaps. The aging is welcome, both for love of patina and the ability to better disguise the flaws that were more apparent when new.

Excellent worked performed at my home. No complaints, or problems. Shane brought in his crew ahead of promised schedule. Promptly finished job. His crew was very dedicated, hard working, and polite. They took pride in doing a good job. Shane regularly monitored work progress each day. Cleaned up job site each day and after finishing job. I would definitely use this company again for my roofing needs and recommend them to anyone in need of roofing, gutter, or siding work. Lewis and Son is a long time family business in the Huntsville area, and they take pride in their work and are very customer focused.

Show up on time.  Took two days, like they said they would.  Did a good job of cleaning up after themselves.  Roof looks good.  The crew appeared to have their act together.  Mr. Lewis stopped by every day to check on progress. <br>

I had used this same company on my previous roofing work and in spite of a few minor difficulties, was very pleased with the result. For this reason I decided to ask Lewis & Son to do this roofing job, which was considerably more involved than the last.  This time there were no difficulties associated with the job and I am absolutely enthralled with every aspect of the work done and the final results. <br /> Shane Lewis made an appointment with me for the next morning after I called for an estimate.  He arrived on time and came into the house to sit down and find out just what my needs were.  I found him to be very personable and during our conversation he made several very helpful suggestions and educated me on several factors I should consider when doing a job of this scope.  He then climbed up on the roof, walked over the entire roof examining it and taking measurements.  When he had finished the exterior examination, he advised me of his findings and we negotiated a price for the job.  We wrote up a contract for the job and I gave him a check for 50% of the job as a down-payment.  Had I not known Shane and his company from a prior experience with the company I would have been uncomfortable with this, but my previous experience had shown the company to be reliable and trustworthy.  Since we were going to be delayed in starting the job, Shane had his roofing foreman come to our house that same day and make temporary repairs to a leak we had so that our interior ceilings would not suffer further damage. <br /> We were dealing with an unusually wet, cold, and even snowy stretch of weather while we were scheduling the job. Throughout this period, Shane maintained excellent communications with me in order to find a time that would be adequately dry and warm,  in which to accomplish the job, and would also be convenient for me. I sincerely appreciated his maintaining such good communications with me throughout this process. <br /> On the appointed day his roofing foreman and crew arrived at 8:00 AM with all their equipment and needed materials.  l was pleased to see that the equipment although not new was in an excellent state of repairs.  The roofing foreman, Paco, introduced himself and then began directing his crew about where to locate the tools and materials.  As this was going on, Shane Lewis showed up and saw that everything was going smoothly.  As soon as everything was in place, the crew began the job.  They worked until 1:00 PM and then ate lunch on the site.  After lunch they worked straight through until it was too dark to see.  They made sure the roof was adequately covered in the event of unexpected rain and then left about 6:30 PM after advising me that they would back at 7:30 AM. <br /> The next morning the roofing foreman and crew arrived right on time and began work.  They proceeded meticulously and quickly until the job was finished about 5:00 PM. Shane Lewis came by during the late morning to ask me if I was satisfied with the way the job was going and again about 5:00 PM as they were finishing the job.  Shane again got up on the roof and personally inspected the work.  As the roofing crew finished a couple of odds and ends on the job and cleaned up all the mess that had been made,  I went inside and got the final payment check and gave it to Shane.  A short time later everyone vanished as quickly as they had shown up the day the job started and not a hint remained that our home had just been reroofed.  Their clean-up was extremely thorough and not a scrap remained.  I stood out in the road and looked at my new roof feeling very pleased and confident that I could not have found a better company to do the work. <br /> <br />

<p>During the Winter 2015 we hired Lewis and Son (Shane Lewis) to replace all siding and wood with Hardie Board and the back decks  with Trex Transcend composite decking.   </p> <p>The team of workers was professional  and thoughtful and  we will use them again for future projects. They were always early and finished late to try and minimize the time to complete the job.</p> <p>We recommend them highly to people who are wishing to work with people of high integrity. </p> <p>Thanks  Lewis and Son for my lovely new home!</p> <br />

Very pleased with results, makes 30-year-old rancher look new again!  Shane Lewis, president of Lewis and Son Roofing, personally attended to our job, providing the estimate, working with us to choose colors, and answering all my questions.  He even took me on a tour of their shop and showed me the materials they would use.  The crew was courteous, professional, and efficient.  They spread tarps around the house to catch debris and did a thorough cleanup.  The entire job only took a few days.  They do additional kinds of remodeling, will definitely call them first! <br />

Lewis and Son Roofing and Construction is very professional, on time, great work ethics, clean up was excellent and high quality workmanship.   They certainly lived up to there motto "We can fix a leak in a creek!"  We should have called them sooner because water problems only cause bigger problems!   Don't wait call them today! <br />
