The team from designers concrete was extremely prompt, professional, and courteous. I was traveling so they had to deal with my wife. They provided an accurate estimate, scheduled the work within a week of me contacting them, and completed the job on time on budget. Luis and his team we're complete professionals and the stamped concrete patio looks beautiful. Overall, excellent service.

Very Unhappy!!! Luis gave us a estimate back on 12/5/15 and being a first time homeowner my husband and I couldn't afford this. But we liked Luis and his professionalism and seemed very knowledgeable. He kept saying at the estimate that we both would be so happy and everything would turn out wonderful!!! I kept his business card and went on Angie's List 1 year later 6/17/16. We were able to afford this big project now and gave Luis a call. We decided not to get a second opinion cause we both figured it's a huge driveway and felt that it's not gonna be any cheaper and because we both felt comfortable with Luis. Big Mistake!!! My dad alwalys said get a second opinion and companies are not your friends. Luis did obtain and got the permit from the city and arranged for the inspector to come. All the forms were laid and everything passed the inspection. We also mentioned to Luis to please post a sign in our yard with his company name. So many drivebys that stopped by the house. He never did!!! I do have a video of his employers doing the driveway and it all went well with breaking up the driveway up and getting rid of the old concrete. After they poured the driveway and were all done. We noticed that one of the lights at the end of the driveway didn't work. Called Luis and it was fixed. He had his employees come out and caulk the driveway. Horrible job of caulking!!! First of all the one guy asked me if I had a caulk gun. His wan't working. Fortunately I had one because my husband is a painter. They never put any caulk or sealer by the house. When it rained it leaked in my basement. Being that my driveway is so much higher now we needed more dirt. They came out and put more dirt but was not enough. My husband called a few times and Luis alwalys called back but failed to show up with more dirt. And my husband called regarding that we have a huge hairline crack by the Apron and the Garage. Luis never came back out to look at the final job so we could show him the cracks. And other small things that we are unhappy with. And they never called in October to have the driveway sealed. When you own a business the boss should alwalys do a FINAL INSPECTION!! We still owed him some money but he's never called for it because he probally over estimated the project and he got what he wanted. Our neighbor wants him to do a small project which Luis went and looked at it. And, also we had 4 neighbors that actually came to our house and asked who did our driveway? Were we Happy? It looks very nice from the road. Until I showed them the 2 hairline cracks. I just told them I can give you his number but now that you see the driveway up close you make the decision. Sorry Luis!! I don't give out bad reviews. But I have to be honest!!! If you want your business to survive follow up when the job is done and take care of any complaint. It took me along time to write this review cause I don't want to slam or hurt any body's business!!! And Angie's List wants you to do a review!!! So disappointed and nervous about those cracks. This was a BIG financial job for us to be unhappy.

Everything went as planned. I was given a very competitive quote which remained constant to the end of services. Luis was very helpful in getting the permit and all approvals. I am very happy with the end result and will use again when I have concrete needs.

Luis of Designer's Concrete set up an appointment to make an estimate, and arrived at the appointed time. I had already had the utilities located. We talked it over, and he explained to me what was necessary, and the reasons for the cost estimate of $1000. He said he would take care of getting the city permit for the project, and he stayed in contact with me throughout this part of the process. He knew exactly what the city needed from me. Once the permit was given, Luis arrived with his crew, and laid in the form. The city had to inspect the form and foundation for the pad, but once they had, the crew returned the next day and finished the job. The longest part was waiting for the city permit (about a week). When that went through, it was only three days until it was finished. Luis told me how to cure the cement before I drilled into it to install the shed. Luis accepted the Angie's List coupon. He followed up with a call a few days after it was complete. They did not mix the cement on my property, but had it delivered. Personally, it seemed more expensive than I thought it would be, but that was probably just my ignorance going into such things. Overall, it was a great experience working with Luis and Designers Concrete.

Luis and his team were friendly and knowledgeable. They did very excellent work and really took pride in their work. Each member of the team was very friendly and cooperative. The sidewalk was beveled properly and finished very meticulously. I would definitely use Designer's Concrete again.

Excellent!

Work was done on my raised ranch rental property built in 1964. They replaced a crumbling concrete front porch and stoop and removed an adjacent retaining wall. Luis secured necessary permits from the Village and carefully followed required protocol for inspection.

Around 10/01 I contacted 8 different highly rated concrete companies on Angie's List. Of the 8, 7 of them returned my call within 3 days. Of the 7,
4 companies were booked for the season because they can only do concrete work thru November.

Of the 3 who were still accepting work, all gave estimates which ranged from $11,000 to $4500.
I did not choose the lowest price company because the proposal for the work consisted of a single sentence. Such a lack of detail made me feel uncomfortable, so I continued looking for another concrete company who could do the work. That's when I found Designer Concrete. He returned my call the same day on 10/07 and arranged to meet me for an estimate on 10/09. Luis kept the appointment and was right on schedule. He clearly explained what he would do and wrote up a specification of the work to be done.

I emailed him the plot of survey and he took care of everything else. I wasn't sure that I'd be able to find it but I did, luckily. The village no longer had a copy because it was so old.
Permits take about a week, putting us out to about 10/15. After that there were several days when it rained as well. On 10/29 the work was complete and looked great!

The only surprise that came up was my own lack of knowledge when I started this project: Concrete companies do not install railings. That is a separate task with separate expense. Luis said that the concrete only has to set for a week before railings can be installed. Other companies said 28 days, which was a concern due to upcoming freezing temperatures. I did receive a confirmation from 1 railing company that 5-7 days of settling time is fine. But there seems to be disagreement among railing companies on how long concrete needs to set before railing installation can be done.

Outstanding work and professionalism by Luis and his crew!
Luis promptly returned calls, arrived to give an estimate, and with his crew, performed the work. The result is excellent. Everyone arrived promptly when they said they would and delivered an excellent product in a timely manner. They cleaned up before they left each day. The entire job took only two days and it looks beautiful. Soon they will return to seal the driveway (3 weeks after installing it). The cost was very competitive (our driveway is quite long) and it looks great!
Luis was always honest and transparent in our dealings. For example, he explained options for repairing the walk and stoop at a lower cost, but we decided to replace them instead. Luis and his crew worked hard and dedicated themselves to doing the best job possible.
We would definitely hire Luis again.
Luis quoted on the driveway and walkway in July and stated that he could do the work in 1-2 weeks - a better lead time than the others that we called for quotes. Most of the phone calls & texts were answered within minutes. He applied for the permit directly with the village and it was ready 2 weeks later. Luis said that he could start a week after that and after I got the Julie dig number he did the work the next day. I thought that it would be a 2 day process with the demo and permit approvals but it only took a single day. The village came by during the process a couple of times and approved and we were pleasantly surprised to have it all done in a day. They blocked off the driveway with caution tape to prevent others from driving or walking in it before it dried. They came by the next morning to take the support beams on the sides used to keep the poured concrete in place. I wish that they had taken a little more of the rocks/dirt along the sides of the driveway but I moved those myself with about 30 minutes of work so that the landscaper could lay topsoil and grass seed a few days later. Luis's crew also graciously took a basketball post in concrete at the side that we asked the to remove as well as some spare bricks that the previous homeowner had left. We're very pleased with the quality of work and will hire Designers Concrete again and recommend them as well.

Luis is a true professional. When others couldn't bother to return our calls for an estimate, he did. He came in person and gave us an estimate. His workers were easy to communicate with and did a top notch job.

When we had questions or concerns Luis always addressed them for us. He is sometimes hard to get a hold of - but we called him nights and weekends and were able to reach him. We knew exactly what we wanted and he helped us get it!

We would recommend Luis and his workers - they do quality work.
