No need to to look any further. You have found your best choice with Rick. He is competent, reliable and affordable. He was the only electrician willing to take over my remodel and fix the poor work that was done prior. Not only did he still price the job aggressively, but he also looked for every opportunity for me to save me money. He was crafty and. quick on sourcing materials I needed that was otherwise impossibly to get or had a 6 month wait. He is well versed with code requirements and what is and is not necessary. He gave great suggestions and was not offended if I didn t take all of them. He knew the inspectors and carried a good reputation with them. He is a no BS man and expects to be paid on time considering the pricing is so very reasonable, I was more than happy to do so every time. It s important to respect someone that makes you feel like they are on your team. He is organized and thorough yet still admits if he made a mistake. He has since done many jobs for my clients and each time he was both the most knowledgeable and least expensive. Canâ t thank you enough man!

Richard Melino is the best. I needed to get a separate electrical service set up for an attached apartment. I spoke with several electrical contractors who hemmed and hawed, and made all kinds of excuses. Richard came in and just delivered and made it happen. He coordinated with Eversource the local utility to get the permits, set everything up and was done in two weeks flat. He’s a real professional and has decades of experience with electrical contracting. Highly recommend him.

Rick was simply amazing! We had an underground cable that was diagnosed as having shorts in it. On Christmas day the cable finally failed leaving us with no power. We contacted Rick at Local Electrical Services via Angie's list and he came to our house the very same day even though it was a Sunday. By the end of that same day he had the material ordered for the job, sub contractors lined up to dig the trench and reached out to our towns electrical inspector so the work could be signed off when ready to be inspected. Work began on Monday and was completed by Thursday afternoon. This was the week between Christmas and New Year! Rick even coordinated with the local power company to get power turned back on. All in all a fantastic job completed in record time during a time period where responses would normally be slow.

Rick and his entire crew were very professional from start to finish. Rick is one of the few professionals who called me back, then he promptly came out and gave a free written estimate with itemized line items that same day. He was obviously very knowledgable, yet had no problem patiently explaining concepts in a way that a layperson like me could understand. The Local Electric crew always showed up on time, and when we went through the inspection process, Rick’s were the only inspections for our project that passed without any issues. In addition to having an extremely competent crew, Rick was also very flexible (our project ended up being bigger than we originally intended, and each change order and the accompanying price were clearly delineated on our revised contract). I would not hesitate to call Local Electric again for any electrical job, big or small.

Rick's company was referred to me by another contractor to move the thermostat in my house in order to help heat the house more evenly.  The work was expected to take about two hours but was much more difficult than anticipated.  The unit had to be moved in a finished area with no direct access from the attic (and the house has no basement) so it was a challenge! However, the two men from Rick's company were great! They were determined to find a way to move the thermostat with as little disruption to the walls as possible and they succeeded.  I was very impressed with their determination to find a way rather than simply saying it couldn't be done.  The job was slightly more expensive but they did not charge the full time. They did not leave any unsightly holes and cleaned up after themselves.  While there, the electrician also looked at some work I would like to have done later and made some great recommendations.  I definitely plan to call them in the future. <br />

<p>Rick Melino and his crew are excellent. I would highly recommend them for any electrical job, large or small. They are very professional, thorough, reasonably priced and prompt. I just called Rick back to give me an estimate to do some electrical work on the exterior of my house and in my garage.</p> <p>My husband and I are both architects and we are very particular about lighting and dimming etc. Rick and his crew removed old faulty wiring when they found it and brought everything up to code. They made some good recommendations in terms of purchasing the right sized emergency generator and also found some dimmable LED strip lights for the kitchen that were exactly what my husband wanted.</p> <p>All changes to the scope of work were discussed with me before proceeding and all change orders were itemized appropriately with both labor and material charges broken down. They did an excellent job with the electrical work and installing the generator in one day. Rick clearly explained our options and what the job entailed. Even when the crew encountered some issues, they were able to figure out a solution without causing damage or delays. The crew was very professional and cleaned up afterwards. <br />

Contact with Rick (owner) was generally pretty quick. He is very knowledgeable and will tell you everything you need (or don't know you need) to know about your electrical work. We actually needed a second estimate done after we changed our generator plans...Rick came back out again for free and did not try to pressure us into going with the more expensive option. In the end, we opted for the cheaper portable generator instead of an automatic standby unit. His team (Josh and Joe) showed up on time and completed the installation quickly. They were extremely professional, helpful, and I would not hesitate to call them again for more electrical work.

WIth only 2 weeks left before moving out of state (California) and our house on the market, the fire department told us we needed to hardwire the whole house with smoke alarms. We called Local Electrical Services (Westford, MA) and got a call back within 1/3 hour. Rick coordinated all appointments with the fire inspector, arrived on time, did a walk through with the fire inspector and gave us an on-the-spot estimate (which was right on target). His electricians were at the house working the next day and were finished in less than 1 1/2 days (earlier than expected). They did the instllations and left the house as clean as it was when they arrived. RIck did the follow-up with the fire inspector and electrical inspector and even came back for the final inspection (which was today). I am so impressed, Rick took us under his wing and ensured we understood exxactly what needed to ge done, and he made sure it was done correctly. I highly recommend Local Electrial Services for all electrical needs. If we weren't moving to California, Rick and Local Electrical Services would go to the top of my contact list.

After a horrible experience with another electrician, I found Local Electrical Services. I chose them because they were referred to me by a friend who was also very satisfied. I own an old home and among the myriad of things we needed to do home fix-up wise was upgrade the electrical service. Our home had fuses instead of circuit breakers which meant it wasn't exactly up to code. Not to mention it wasn't capable of running multiple appliances at once. After beginning the process of upgrading with an electrician who was working side projects like mine, I quickly found that I made a bad choice. It turned what should have been a one-day project into weeks of unreturned phone calls and bad excuses. I finally decided to hire someone else and I was pleasantly surprised by how smoothly the rest of the job went. In one day our service was completed and everything works great. I am not going to pretend I know what technically needs to be done to upgrade a service but I do know the difference between good service and bad.
