It has been a terrible experience since I delivered a check for 75% down. I signed the contract on August 7 and gave him a check. He told me it would be 2-3 weeks to install once I picked the stone. Since that time JP has cancelled, rescheduled and cancelled again. Communication has been terrible. I call and text and it takes days and ,in this latest time, it’s been a week and no word. My calls, texts and emails go unanswered. He even set a date to install, so we removed our counters. I am without a kitchen and can’t get word back from JP. I just want to cry. All I wanted was beautiful counters and my joy has been stolen. I am now looking at having to pay twice. This is heartbreaking. I did my due diligence. I checked his CCB. I checked his reviews. All were glowing. Please don’t put yourself through the same pain I am going through now and JP, you should be ashamed of yourself.

DO NOT USE. JP Macias / Owner of Lomac Stone took our cash payment in full up-front and only delivered part of the project. He has now disappeared and can not be reached via text, phone, email, voicemail, etc. His business instagram is gone now, and several people on his facebook have also been taken for their money with no delivery of product/project. Both of his suppliers that we called have said they've received similar calls about JP lately and have also not heard from him. His business license is listed in Newberg, his invoice shows Portland, and his CCB is registered in Salem. Will be filing Oregon CCB complaint. The work they DID complete looked fantastic...seems we got in right before he went full MIA.

The project went well and the counters look lovely. The work involved a plumber and an electrician and they both came in a timely manner. The whole crew was efficient, polite and worked hard to get the project done to my satisfaction.

The service excellent. They were clean, professional, and quick.

J.P. is very easy to work with and I love my refreshed kitchen. He also completed the fireplace surround and hearth and that looks great also. The new hot water dispenser was a little tricky, and he and his plumber patiently kept at it until it was right.

My soapstone counters look great! Exactly what I wanted. His cutouts for the sink and stove were perfect. I had some smaller sections in the bath, shower and butlers pantry and they all look excellent. Highly recommend!

JP and his crew were not only professional, but they were also a pleasure to have in my home. Their craftsmanship and attention to detail is not often found today. All work was completed in a timely manner with no hiccups or delays. Would I recommend John Macias to my friends? The answer is an enthusiastic YES!

He was incredibly responsive, picked up where my failed contractor. left. off, was cheaper, and had a better end result. He was delightful to work with and I will use him again because of that. I'd recommend finding the stone you want first, then contact him to see if he has it. He can do all the custom cutting, but doesn't carry all the brands. He can buy from a stone yard for you, but if you want the really cheap pricing, he finishes with remnants.

The best contractor I've used yet - Lomac Stone Company. Crazy good price, attention to detail, and the best customer service I've had in Portland to date (literally). I searched high and low for something I could afford. I first was attempting to do concrete, but the prices were insane for what you got. Then I went to all the major stone distributors, most were either so busy they wouldn't do custom work, or they were out of this world expensive. Even looking at their reviews, they didn't do the work to the level of precision I wanted. I was in a tough spot, I needed something perfect, but didn't want to cut an arm off to afford it. I randomly had Lomac Stone Co recommended to me and wow, just wow!! My neighbor who has been a GC for 30 years helped me hang my cabinets and when he came back to see the stone, he told me he needed JP's contact info because "the guy is an artist." His edgework is absolutely phenomenal. I'm literally so proud of the end product I've brought over most of my neighbors just to show them the piece. It's gorgeous. I will most definitely be using him again. Thank you so much, JP, for your incredible work, honest pricing, and care. You made us feel like your only customer, even though I know you're slammed right now.
