The crew was hired to complete interior painting of an approximately 1300sqft apartment and included in the price was carpet installation for one bedroom, the closet and one other closet. They had immediate availability and began work quickly, work was completed within 4 days. The contract given to us was handwritten. The overall paint job was almost equivalent to any DIY'er; most edges were not straight, most outlets and switches had paint on and over them, paint was on several of the radiators, there were many touch up spots left at the end of the job, the hand rail for stairs was painted along with the hardware that holds it up, and paint was dripped and stepped in across the floors and not cleaned up. We provided the paint as well as brushes and rollers, which felt a bit strange to provide anything more than the paint. Workers utilized bowls and buckets that were on site for other jobs for painting without asking. The carpet installation was nothing more than them having rolled out the carpet we bought; no seams were sealed and it was not appropriately tacked down to the nail strips on the edges, gaps were left and the direction of the carpet was not followed for inputting the pieces where the carpet was not enough as one piece. Empty drinking cans and bottles were left, old carpet was left for us to remove, and all empty supply garbage was left in the unit. No clean up happened and nothing was swept. He offered to replace the outlet covers when they were done painting, which I said sure and pointed out that there was a mix of white and almond, so just make sure it matches. They replaced some of the covers but matched very few of the ones they did replace. When contacted, Daniel was willing to come back to "make it right", but tried stating that he had included the carpet installation "for free" so we needed to move on from that. He also stated that it was on us as the customer to provide all the things needed to seal the seams. They came back to "fix" these, and scraped the paint off the outlets/switches but didn't clean anything. They were rushed and very reluctant and seemingly mad that we even expected them to fix it. They threw out or took all of the paint brushes and roller that we bought, and a putty knife and utility knife that were in the unit are now gone. He 'sealed' the seams, but they are still quite obvious, the grain of the rug not followed, and the edges are not tacked into the nail strips at all after being fixed. Overall the paint job was okay (likely a little worse than we could have done ourselves, but with a 4 man crew they got it done quicker than we could have), but I would not pay professional contractor pricing for it. I would not utilize them for carpet installation ever again, and likely would not recommend anyone to use them. If you do, be prepared to provide every single thing needed to complete a job and clean up/dispose of everything. I had mentioned some type of refund to account for the extra work on us, us needing to point out the mistakes, and the time taken to get it close to fixed (as well as the carpet needs to be redone still), and he went off on my husband calling me a liar. He refused any amount of refund, instead calling us greedy with expecting anything back. I made the effort to keep communication professional, but that was not returned on his end.
