L & R Tree Service

Had some trees that had grown over my roof and over the electric line. Some of the branches had fallen and laying on the electric line. They came out and got them cut and removed. Cleaned up after themselves. They did an awesome job at a very reasonable price. Would recommend them to anyone.

Quick response to telephone request for an estimate. Arrived and accomplished the removal of the tree. Removed the cut down portions of the tree and cleaned the yard of any stray small branches. A fair price for the tree removal and stump grinding.

We had a tree that had been heavily cut on top by the power company and we were afraid it was going to die. Randy came out and identified additional issues with the tree (rot and bugs) and treated it for me. He also treated additional trees and told me how to stop the rot to save the tree He was very helpful and friendly and we’ll definitely use him again!

Randy called me same day and came out to look at what I wanted done. He came out the next day and trimmed up 5 trees total and called me when he was at my house to let me know he was there. He also called me to ask about getting rid of a bush before he got rid of it and didn't charge me for it. Great setvice overall.

Upon Contacting L&R Tree Service, owner, Randy Johnson came out the next business day. He surveyed the project; gave me advice, suggestions, and answered all my question. He told me the history of his company, provided proof of insurance and a written quote. I was impressed with his professionalism and was agreeable to his quote. As promised, he returned the following Monday and he and his crew worked very hard throughout the day to complete the project as promised. I was impressed with how hard his crew worked and that he, as owner, worked right alongside them throughout day. He did everything he said he would do and more. His crew cleaned up to such an extent you wouldn't know they had been here except for all the good work they had done to remove the trees and stumps leaving no debris behind. When I need tree service again, and I will, I will with out doubt contact Randy at L&R Tree Service and I would recommend his company to anyone. This transaction went exceptionally well. We were in touch with Randy Johnson within a couple of days of calling, during a very busy season. He's outstanding at communicating -- throughout the day, he stayed in touch to coordinate and update scheduling and plans. L&R is a local family-run business, dating back to the early 1900s -- gotta love that. We had three generations in our yard working hard, taking care of business. Randy is an educator, explaining what he's seeing and what needs to be done, so that we understand and can make good decisions. At the same time, he was respectful of what we did know, and so it felt like we were a team, working together toward a healthy, attractive landscape. He quickly understood and accommodated the particulars of working within the restrictions of an HOA. We had three trees treated with iron, learned how much to water (or not), sprayed lightly for pests that were affecting our leaves and bark, pruned two trees for healthier growth, had a dead stump taken down, and two small volunteer seedlings (a redbud and a persimmon) were carefully transplanted. By chance, when Randy came to assess our problems, he had a crew available late in the day that was able to come from another job to complete ours. We had a lot of work done, but it went quickly because of the number of people on the ground. They were efficient, careful, did a very good job on everything we'd agreed to have done. As noted elsewhere, they do a great clean-up. The price was reasonable for the amount of work -- not the lowest, not the highest, but we think the best value for the dollar. We will call L&R again when we next need service.

It was at least $1000. They were very very good and very nice. I really have nothing to compare the price to but my husband thought they were reasonable.

They arrived early, hustled all day and got the work done promptly. They left the yard clean and all the waste was removed. Owner was friendly and knowledgeable.

The job was challenging since many trees were within feet from the house. Randy and his family crew are fantastic. Watching them remove trees is like watching a perfectly choreographed dance. These guys are conscientious and know their stuff. They were in and out within 8 hours with trees ground and all twigs and leaved picked up. Price was competitive. Would hire them again for sure.

We contacted L&R Tree Service for an estimate on pruning, trimming and major cutting. They came the day we called and gave us a free complete estimate on the work needed done. Discussion included how and where to cut, prune and web worm removal. Randy was personable and knew exactly what needed to be done. We gave our approval for the work to be done in the next week. He called us two days later and said he could come that morning. He and his crew did an amazing job on the pecan tree, pruned several trees and sprayed our trees along with a complete cleanup. He even emptied our dumpster containing the tree limbs that had been picked up prior to the make over. Our Angie's Membership discount helped in controlling the cost. It was an turnkey job and our pecan tree stands proudly.

It went very well.the crew showed up and went right to work. I must say they are the most professional worker I have seen in many years.All the crew members were polite and when they left they cleaned up every thing .The owner should be very proud of each and every one of his men. We had 5 large trees that had not been attended to in over 20 years and the trees had lots of dead branches and just needed to be thinned out. Gave Randy a call to come out and give me an estimate. he came out same day, we talked about what I wanted him to do. He gave me a price we both agreed upon. They came out the next day. It took 3/4 of the day to do the work. The whole crew was courteous, professional, and they left my property cleaned up better than they found it. I will use his services again.

Randy came out and gave an estimate that was very fair. I came home from work the very next day and the work had already been done. He also cut one of the trees into firewood for no extra cost. Don't hesitate to use these guys. Very, very good work.

As a member of Angie's List, I would like to report the services of L & R Tree Service owned by Mr. Randy Johnson.  I, Mrs. Mary Hammond, contacted Mr. Johnson and made an appointment for him to come and give my husband, our daughter, our nephew, and me a free estimate for services to remove a large maple tree.  Once we met Mr. and Mrs. Randy Johnson, we immediately believed that he would probably get the job. They were professional and yet personable.  He was friendly and professional in assessing the work to be done.   Mr. Johnson shared that he had an 8 man crew, all of whom were experienced, and did good work.  He took his time in answering all of our questions, with no pressure, as well as offering some free professional advice.  Upon concluding our meeting, Mr. Johnson gave us a written estimate and supplied us with a copy of his company's insurance.  <br> <br>When we were ready to get the job done, we called Mr. Randy Johnson and set an appointment.  The appointment to perform the tree removal and other services was scheduled for Friday, April 15, 2016 at 3:00 p.m.  The day of the appointment, Mr. Johnson called earlier in the day and asked if he and his crew could come then and start work because they had completed a job and was near our area.  Randy and his crew arrived on time with all of their equipment to get the job done.  The crew and Randy immediately started working. <br> <br>Our neighbors and other people passing by stopped to look at the work being done. As our daughter, our nephew, and I sat on our front porch, there were at least 3 other households doing the same.  It was an amazingly entertaining and educational experience to witness professionals set about doing their work.  Every member of the 8 man crew knew their job and worked so well together.  They were so friendly with us and we could see they enjoyed working with one another.  Mr. Randy Johnson had said that he always likes to start and complete the work in one day and he and his crew did just that. Randy's crew came promptly and did an excellent job of removing the bushes and trimming the tree.  They left the yard with no debris and were very efficient at their job.  <br>

Randy & his crew were fast!  Within 2.5 hours they had all the work done and everything cleaned up.  A totally professional crew that never seems to slow down!  I'd recommend them for any tree services needed and would definitely use them again. A+++++

I called because I noticed we had two dead branches laying directly on the power line going to our house and I was worried about this.  The woman who answered said because of that safety issue, she would get someone out the next day.  Randy showed up early and explained they would get those branches off first thing and then he walked around pointing out all the other problems we had with our trees.  He was very knowledgeable about every thing he pointed out and he suggested the same kinds of things my Husband had been mentioning that needed to be done.  He gave me a reasonable estimate and I agreed and we shook hands.  There was no written estimate or contract to sign but when I shook his very calloused hand, I knew his word was good.   <br> <br>Randy and his team with a parade of equipment showed up the next morning and immediately took care of the power line.  They all worked hard and as a team.  They had all the equipment they needed to do everything very safely and professionally.   My Husband came home from work feeling sick that day and he met Randy and was also impressed.  The next day was Good Friday and my Husband was home and so he went outside to talk to Randy about some other things he had in mind.  My Husband is the Vice President of several power plants in Oklahoma and one in Texas and has a very trained approach to safety and doing the job right.  He was very pleased with the job so far and added even more tasks to the $5,000 worth of work I had agreed to originally.  Randy explained all that would be involved in the additional tasks and gave my Husband an additional estimate of $6,500.  They again shook hands and we went inside to watch movies. <br> <br>They ran everything through their chipper into a very large truck which got filled to the top each day they were at our home.  Randy said he was even surprised at how much they hauled off.  The small sticks and debris were carefully racked and removed leaving our lawn pristine for the next mowing.     <br>It means a lot to us that he did such a meticulous job and left everything tidy and clean.  The place looks transformed.  The trees are magnificent and we are so very pleased with the work that we're planning to have him back to tackle our "back" back yard next year.  I can't ever imagine using anyone else.   <br> <br> <br> <br> <br>

Absolutely excellent service given to me by this company. I had Randy Johnson and his team cut down a large tree in my backyard and a few other small trees, some shrub removal and some stump removals. They were very professional and cleaned up after they had finished. I would recommend their services to anyone.

Removed overhanging branches on neighbors tree. Tree had grown into fence so it was a big job. Dug up thick roots that were bringing up underground wires and my sprinkler system. Pruned another tree and a bush. When I was first given the estimate I asked about a second tree. Not as involved. Was quoted an additional $250 but when I mentioned Angies List Randy said he'd include that tree in the price. Crew of 9 worked fast. Left my yard spotless and cleaned up another neighbors yard where branches had fallen. They arrived late due to previous job ran over. But, Randy kept in touch with me at all times keeping me posted as to when he would arrive.

Several very large trees  had to be cut down as well as shrubs that had gotten out of hand along the front, side, and back of the property.  Randy and his staff cleared everything we discussed, as well as sprayed the remaining trees for insects.  Hauled everything off and left the property extremely clean.  He quotes a fair price and stays until every job quoted is finished. <br />
