Performed annual sprinkler system maintenance, everything went well. We've used Lucas irrigation for more than 10 years for regular sprinkler system maintenance and occasional repairs. We also use them for annual gutter cleaning. We've always been satisfied with quality of the work, staff are professional and knowledgeable, jobs easy to schedule. We used several other irrigation system services in the past and found that Lucas Irrigation was better than other irrigation services we worked with in terms of quality of the work, ease of scheduling, cost of services, and professionalism of staff.

My first 1-2 uses of Lucas went relatively smoothy and without a hitch. They did cancel their appointments on me a few times ... but generally they eventually showed up! This last time was a real disaster though. First off - after paying $180 for someone to come an turn on your irrigation system (with some needed, minor repairs), you'd expect to find your system in working order. Unfortunately for me, despite paying a relatively high amount of money to them - my grass started to be brown in some spots. I only discovered that they actually never activated my irrigation/water management system - and the sprinkler was actually not set to run on a schedule!! So, in the end, they completely failed to do the job that I paid them to do. They never informed me that they ran into technical issues activating the hardware - they just proceeded to charge me and hope that I wouldn't notice! I complained to them via email and they never even responded to my outreach. Nada, Zilch. (i wonder if they'll follow-up here via AngiesList since now this is a visible show of their failure!) So - if you like this service - then go ahead and use them. However, be aware that they don't take ownership of completing the job as they should and certainly failed me in this case! The professionally is seriously under question for me.

Over the winter, my irrigation system pipe burst b/o water that was retained in the pipe and froze. (I have had this a long time and knew not to turn the water back on after the system is blown out.) I had a plumber repair the broken pipe, notified Lucas, and was told someone would get back to me.

Used them for several years for my lawn sprinkler system. Used them last spring to turn on the system and they turned it on fine just not professional. Thought I'd give them another try because I was told that they person that did the service was new. Scheduled them to winterize the system, waited between 12-5, they never showed, but texted me at 6:30 to say they weren't coming. I was told that their truck broke down, which is fine I understand that things happen, but contact your clients to let them know that either you'll be late or not coming during the time you are to be here not 1 1/2 hours later. They promised they would be back, first appointment 7:30am-8am. Showed up at 8:20 and was rude and unprofessional. 3 strikes. Will be looking elsewhere next spring.

I called them this morning and they told me if I couldn't the system, then they couldn't do an inspection.

It worked out fine. They came out and did it and it seemed to be a good value for what was done. There were no problems. They are responsive and did quality work and I would use them again. The workers were fine, nice, pleasant and knowledgeable.

Terrible. Sprinkler heads were the wrong ones, system is not working correctly, service person was very unprofessional. I will never use them again. Owner needs to educate his staff. <br>

"We have been servicing the property for many years, always the same tech onsite. This was about one sprinkler head being changed and disputed we removed the charge sent someone back as a courtesy and did our best to be fair. Client still has an outstanding balance after agreeing to resolve ?.."

To the rest of you, be careful. I got sucked in by a service contract that looked good - three visits for just about $200 to open, close, and check my system. Well, about 700 additional dollars later, they still haven't completed the work. They overcharge for parts and labor and overstate the number of hours worked on a job. To make matters worse, I'm not confident they can do their job well. For example, as part of opening the system, they had to locate all the valve boxes. We went out to ask what the problem was, and they said they were having trouble finding the boxes. I pointed to the ground a few feet away and said, "Is that one?" Of course, it was. I was charged $250 for labor that day, and they had to come back. I was charged $250 for a second day. So, if you're looking for a good deal, I don't think this is it. Keep looking.

"Reader Beware! Lucas strives to do our best and has repeatedly proven that over the years with it's A+ Angie's List rating and over 150 positive reviews. This particular customer called us for the first time in December to winterize their system. Unfortunately, the freezing temps were already well upon us. We informed the customer that we would go out and turn off his water and do the best that we could to winterize at such a late date, however that there was a possibility that we were too late and that there could be freeze damage. When our technician went to turn on the system on April 19th, not only were there many heads damaged, along with the backflow, which had frozen, but the technician noted that the system itself was over 30 years old and was in need of much TLC. The owner was home during the visit and approved the work to come back and install a new backflow, along with time to try and locate a malfunctioning valve that was buried underground. This system was not installed by Lucas."

They came on time and quickly blew out the sprinkler system. Scheduling was pretty easy. <br /> The only thing I did not like was that I had to give them my credit card information to schedule the appointment even though I had already paid for the service through an Angie's List big deal. These days, with data breaches in a lot of companies, I would like to minimize the companies that have my credit card on file. <br /> <br />
