Missed appointment. Poor job with the repair.

I own a rowhouse in DC, and the roof finally failed in too many places to patch. Darren gave me a reasonable estimate, helped me research the various materials, and his crew did a great job. Everything went up in one day.

My roof was leaking due to the storms, and ended up needing to be replaced. It went very smoothly. I was able to work with Darren to get an estimate and quickly replace the roof before the next storm came through, even though I was not in the DC area at the time.

We obtained several quotes for a full roof and gutter replacement on a Cape Cod (i.e., small house with small roof), and Lumbee was competitively priced. Additionally, we liked Darren's professionalism and expertise. The crew was great, the work was completed quickly, and Darren and his office staff were responsive and communicative. There were a few minor things that needed to be fixed after the fact, and Darren personally came over and took care of them himself.

Lumbee Roofing Solutions did an excellent job under emergency circumstances. Our roof in Temple Hills, MD was significantly damaged by the March 2, 2018 windstorm. We found Lumbee on Angie's List after we discovered the damage, and contacted them the next business day. Despite a heavy workload created by the storm, Mr. Barnes himself (Lumbee's owner) inspected our roof 48 hours later, gave us a written estimate (with photos of damages) that evening, and fully repaired our roof the following day. Moreover, Mr. Barnes was personable, considerate, and polite throughout the process.

I contacted Lumbee Solutions for an estimate on repairing shingles that blew away in a wind storm. The owner promptly contacted me to set up an appointment. He came out the next day to give me an estimate. I felt like he was very knowledgeable, professional, and reasonable so I hired him. My shingles were replaced the next day.

Darren is not one of those contractors who talk you into signing the contract, then disappear and leave the work to a crew from Home Depot. He knows roofing and knows how to direct his crew, and they did a great job all the way around. The roof was in bad condition, and our contract had the list of things to do, but the crew found lots of other issues and dealt with them all rather than brush them off as off-contract. I get the sense that they honestly wanted the roof to be perfect when they were finished. The crew finished a day late on a two-week contract, but Darren knocked a few bucks off to make up for it.

Darren came out and did the estimate and his pricing was competitive with the other bids I received. It took a little bit to get the work scheduled, but if they're keeping busy with lots of work that in and of itself says a lot about the quality of work they do and the business they run. The work was done efficiently without me having to hover over them - Darren was up on the roof doing what he needed to do, and he told me when he was done. The shingles matched much better than I was expecting them to do (the roof is almost 10 years old), and while it's not a big deal, it's nice to not see the giant patch job from the back. Have had one big rain storm since the work was done and everything seems to be in great shape. I would definitely recommend hiring Lumbee Solutions for any roof work that you need done.

Darren, the contractor, worked hard to help us with materials. He was responsive, polite, and experienced, and his crew was the happiest group of men we have ever had work on our home - which speaks volumes about company leadership. We are very pleased with the synthetic slate roof they installed. They started promptly after we signed the contract with two crews of men some days. Having the roof finished in a week was lovely. And it was very well done.

Getting a quote and the first appointment was very easy.  All worked great, work was done quickly, I paid in full.  But then the first rain happened and I found out that one of the gutters was not fixed properly (while the work order said that the gutters were reattached where needed).  This was a month ago.  Since then -- many emails (directly to the owner and thru Angies list messages), two promises to fix the problem, but still nothing.  The latest appointment was supposed to be a week ago but we never saw the work being done.  I contacted the owner again to check, was promised that he will check with the person who was scheduled to be there.  But, after several follow ups -- I still have no idea if the work was done and if yes - what was actually done... Probably will find out with the next rain... <br /> <br /> I selected this company based on their A rating and good reviews.  Very disappointed.

Lumbee Solution guy did work on my house last year. He recommended repairing the roof rather than replacing. This meant that he added an extra two layers of tiles on top of what was there. Other contractors wanted to replace but when I asked them if replacement was an option they admitted it was. Regardless, no one came close to the price. I was very happy.

Lumbee is definitely the right solution.  Pleasant and knowledgeable staff to take your call, business-like reminders both by email and telephone to let you know when the roofer will be at your house, and an on-the-dot arrival. Their professional inspection of our roof was followed up with an honest and comprehensive evaluation. <br />

Darren at Lumbee was really great to work with when replacing our roof. After a a major hailstorm, we decided it was  time. He knew exactly how to deal with the insurance companies and always had the correct forms on hand that would need to be submitted. He looked for ways to save on using our insurance funds and came in below the estimate. He made sure to give us better quality shingles than what was installed before. When our roof in the neighborhood seemed to be on the border for being replaced, he made sure to advocate for us. It turned out the insurance company did not disagree. <br />

My roof was in horrible condition. Lumbee Solutions did a phenomenal.  I'd recommend them to anyone. And they are  local. I have been working construction for 30 years. You will find a lot of bad guys out there, these are not one of them, definitely. Their work quality was excellent and they even threw in free gutters. I couldn?t be more pleased. <br />

I am a working guy, so every dollar is a serious deal. We knew we needed our roof replaced but wanted a reliable and affordable company. My wife's dad recommended Lumbee and I called them. Almost immediately, they came knocking.  And they did, in about an hour. I told them that my dad in law recommended them and he got a referral fee. They gave me a five year warranty on their work, but when I said I needed more security, my roofing sales guy gave me a lifetime warranty if I'd recommend someone. In addition, their financing options were excellent.  I went to my neighbor's house and he signed up and he got a lifetime warranty. <p>I've had several roofs put on various houses I've owned. Most of the roofers were just ok.  Just like everybody else in the DMV, my house got slammed in our last snow storm.
