Terrible and you can tell by the rating. We actually have two properties: one in Sterling Heights and one in Shelby Township. We have used Lush Lawn for several years at several different properties but have never had a problem until now. Both contracts were prepaid and we have the same servicer. However, the Sterling Heights property looks great and the Shelby Township property looks terrible. The Sterling Heights property had a brand new lawn put in last year. The Shelby Township property had a great lawn, but this year we have had to call and follow up on numerous occastions to ask them to come out. Our lawn has looked terrible since June 16th - there is a ton of crabgrass and weeds and there are a few burn spots. We've given up too - similar to the other review - numerous calls and no one cares. Lush Lawn was here again a week ago - sprayed to treat the crab grass and it's only gotten worse. We just got back from Home Depot and purchased a large bottle of Round Up for $24.95. We've pulled numerous sections of lawn out already just to try to get ahead of it (one large brown lawn bag full) and now we're hoping the spray will stop the spread. Why bother paying to have your grass treated when you have to supplement yourself? The Sterling Heights lawn is significantly smaller than the Shelby Township lawn. I'm not sure if they aren't spraying enough - we've paid in advance so it's a way for them to save money - or what, but we won't be doing this again.

This is the third year with Lush Lawn and their service has gone downhill. They would come to fertilize and give a report that everything was great. When I walked the lawn I saw crabgrass and a brown fungus on the lawn. I called them four times asking for a supervisor. They took a message every time but I never received a phone call. I gave up, am going to finish out the prepaid year, and find someone new next year.

On two occasions they burned areas of our lawn when fertilizing. Reseeding never took and instructions about watering were unclear. When we spoke to different people we were given contradictory information about watering. When we asked for a supervisor to come response was not consistent. Bottom line-our lawn looks worse than it did before. <br />

Their Field Tech Manager, Marshal, did leave numerous messages when he tried to call you last month. As you’ve been Lush Lawn’s customer for three seasons now, I hope you know about our service guarantee. If at any time you are unsatisfied, please let us know and we’ll see what we need to do to get it fixed. We only show that you called in once this year with an issue but after leaving you 6 messages with no return calls, we mistakenly thought the issue must have been resolved at that point. I talked with Danielle, the Office Manager, and we are going to set up a service call to have a manager come out and assess your lawn to see what is going on and what needs to be done to get it improved. We did note some areas of concern when we were there on 9/3 for your last round of fertilizer and weed control so we’ll see how those are doing and see what else needs to be addressed. Please don’t ever hesitate to contact us if you’re unsatisfied. Our goal is to make your lawn as Lush as possible so we are both proud of it."

They are a good services provider I have hired them to fertilize my lawn. Their service quality is excellent I see a significant improvement in growth and thickness of grass. I will not say they got rid of all the weed but a significant portion. They use a slow weed killer that takes some time to get rid of dandelions but once gone they do not return. I had to call them to reapply weed killer in early summer when their initial spring applications did not get rid of dandelions completely. They promptly did the additional application. There is a tendency to upsell other services like shrub tree fertilization etc. Their sales people would call in annoying frequency. Overall, I would recommend their services. <br />

I requested one application of weed killer on the lawn so that the yard would look better for my son's outdoor graduation party. I specifically told the representative that I did not want any more applications because I am leasing the house and would be moving within the year.  Soon after the application, a sales person called and said the lawn had a fungus that would kill all of the grass if I did not have them take care of the problem. I said no, I did not want any more applications of any kind and explained why. Then to my surprise Lush Lawn placed another application on my lawn and left a bill. I was quite upset, called and spoke to a young woman at the company and told her I did not want any more applications and explained the reason why. She said that information was not in my file so I asked her to place a cancel in my file and specifically told her I would not pay for any additional applications for a cancelled service. <br /> You guessed it; Lush Lawn continued to place more applications on my lawn. I even spoke with Mark Grost, their branch manager, about the cancelled service and he sent a letter stating how Lush Lawn was saddened to lose my business. Later a sales person from Lush Lawn called me and stated that since I was a customer he would sign me up for next year! How many Lush Lawn staff do I need to say NO to??   <br /> This company has a severe disconnect within their staff. They need a software program (or files) that can track communication with their customers that can be accessed by every employee at the company. Their goal should not be how many customers they can get and how many extra services they can sell but how many satisfied customers they have that will recommend their services to others. In closing, I cannot recommend this company. <br />

All I ask of a lawn treatment company is that they provide the service at a fair price and that they call the day before so I know they are coming, to avoid (1) plans for outdoor activities or parties on a lawn that has just been treated, and (2) walking the dog all over the back yard, then seeing the sign planted in front by the driveway as we are on our way back inside. No issues spring through summer. Then, in September, the guy showed up to treat without any call first, so I turned him away. He had apparently recorded that the treatment took place anyway, so it took 3 weeks for them to get someone else out, which happened on October 6. Then, one week later (today, October 14), again with no call the day before, they showed up and treated again before I could stop them - a waste of my money for a useless application. I had warned them if it happened again (no call first), I would cancel them. The calls that I did always seem to get were the regular annoying calls from their sales staff trying to sell add-ons. <br />

Overall I am happy with the job they performed although, I think some of the chemicals used turned spots of my lawn slightly brown).  and not being very knowledgeable about such things I think they try to sell my wife too many services.  <br /> As far as the pest control, they do a great job, it is expensive, but worth the cost as I know they are actually making a difference with the bugs in our yard. <br /> That said, they always show up on time, but their billing department is in terrible shape.  We pre-payed for the entire year and kept getting billing notices that we owed them money which is annoying.   But they do try hard and are trust worthy <br />

This is a horrible company to deal with.  I think the quality of their service is quite bad.  I had used them for most of the last 4 to 5 years.  I was more and more displeased with the look of my lawn.  I should have quit their service earlier, now that I see how much better my new service is.  The straw that broke the camel's back was when they started robo-calling me for payment even though I had already paid my bill.  There is nothing more frustrating than answering your phone thinking it is an important call only to find out it is a recorded message from your lawn service requesting payment even though you are fully paid!  And, or course, there is no way to "press 1" to talk to somebody. <br /> So I had to call them to figure out why they were doing this to me.  They flat out told me that that they didn't know why it was happening.  Needless to say, I quit their service and, as stated above, have realized just how poor the quality of their product was in the first place. <br /> One other thing I should mention is the deceitful nature of their referral program.  They would have you believe that they will give you money for referring others to their service.  When I referred one of my neighbors, who started using Lush Lawn, I should have gotten the referral money (I think it was either $20 or $40 towards services).  I asked them for that amount for their services before I fired them and they flat out refused. <br /> When I posted my frustration with Lush Lawn to Facebook, I got many responses back from others who have had issues with this company so I am sure I'm not alone here.  I would strongly caution people to consider services other than Lush Lawn. <br />

It looks like we had a very regular presence on your lawn for the first 2 years. After that, you only hand a small handful of applications, which will affect our ability to control the appearance of your lawn. We do appreciate your business, and want to work with your budget - but we can only guarantee the appearance of your lawn with 5 applications or more per season. We would be happy to discuss service options that fit your budget. Also, thank you for the referral of other customers. With referrals of qualifying dollar amounts and social media following, there is the potential to earn a CREDIT, not cash, up to $50. This credit is toward upcoming services, and is not a cash bonus. It will happily be applied to future services, but is defaulted if service is discontinued. Should you have prepaid for your services and wish to discontinue services, we would happily refund any funds still remaining on your account. Your other concern was receiving a call regarding your bill. It looks like you received one call after your bill had exceeded 30 days - and we did receive a prompt payment that was in process, but had not yet posted to your account. You were always a customer in good standing, and the courtesy call was a friendly reminder. Multiple times you spoke to our office staff on the day you cancelled, who expressed their apologies for the inconvenience. We take a lot of pride in our customer service - and our 12,000 customers show that we are doing a good job of this! Inevitably, despite our best efforts, problems arise with any business. We'd love the opportunity to care for your lawn again, and address any specific concerns, such as how to lessen the risk of snow mold in the coming spring. They are a little overly sales-oriented.  They had the best price for what we wanted and they promised us free visits in between their five scheduled visits in the summer.  If there is anything to our dissatisfaction, they will come out for free but their customer service declines after you tell them that you need a free return visit, then they try and sell you something, then they appear disappointed and their customer service kind of goes down.  The season is not over yet so I don’t know about the quality of their work yet.

They didn't communicate with us very well. We ended up having weeds growing around the house and around edges of the yard. They treated the center of lawn, but corners of the yard and around the house weren't treated (as we instructed them to do) and our yard, as well as our neighbors are now greatly affected. <br /> <br /> We told them we weren't willing to pay more, and they needed to stand behind their work. They refused to do this, but offered a discount for further treatment. Its disappointing when older people, who need a little help get taken advantage. I feel like this company did this and didn't stand behind their work.

Provider performed worked not authorized and charged me for it. They kept coming back and performing work without authorization and sending me a bill. Also, they recorded my conversation without me knowing it.
