We were happy with the contractor, Neil, but there were a few areas that could have better (like the caulking). We definitely liked the shower and counter top. The salesperson was a little high pressure for our tastes. The price was great as well, and we would recommend them.

They were terrible. First of all, they were too expensive but I should have probably gotten more bids but I took them in and I just think they didn't deliver on what they did. They put some white trim up in my dining room. They didn't paint it very well. You see all the nail holes and they didn't seal it very well. It still looks like it's not finished. On the window, they took two pieces of wood and they didn't put them from corner to corner. They put them together on a long line. They came in and tried to fix it but they ran out of wood. They left it looking like that. It looked terrible. That was really unprofessional considering how expensive they were. They built on a room for a closet and the walls started falling away from ceiling. I would not recommend them. The closet was usable but I had to have it repaired by someone else. The frame was fine but it started peeling away from the ceiling. Overall, it was below average. They showed up on time. They were professional; they just didn't do a good job.

However, the company was very unprofessional, trying to talk me out of pulling permits, and not being responsive to calls. They were however very prompt at calling me to try to make payments earlier than agreed upon in the contract. In short, the work was good, the experience was not. I would not recommend this company.

Hiring them was a disaster. They were hired in December 2012 as my bathroom had been demoed and the work became more than I was able to do myself due to the unlevel floors, so I need someone in a hurry. Their quote came in a higher than several others, but they claimed they had an expert at installing historic unglazed tile, which is what I had. No one else was who did a bid was familiar with this tile. We hired them, and that is when the unprofessionalism started. The date was pushed back. The work was really shotty. The tile was installed without the floor being leveled first. When I complained, they stated that they were never hired to level the floor- which was the main reason I hired someone in the first place and was clear about this. Unglazed tile needs to be sealed with a special sealant to avoid stains, they recommend against what came with my tile and used a different sealant, assuring me this one was better than the one that came with the tile. People would just not show up to do work- for days I would be told someone was coming over to do the next step, but no one would come. They threw away the extra tile. They used some of our clothing that was laying around as shop rags. They charged my credit card for the final amount, which was due upon completion well before the work was done. I was more than unhappy with the whole experience when they were finally done mid-February 2013. Fast forward to November 2013... there are starting to be stains all over the tile floor, which I am told is due to improper sealant on the tile. I contact them multiple times with no response. I send a registered letter and finally receive a response telling me they had subcontracted the installation of the tile and I was to speak to the subcontracter, they were not responsible for any problems. By the time I received this information from them, it was more than a year since the installation, so the subcontracter said he could only guarantee his work for a year. I feel I was purposely ignored until the year was up, as it took them more than two months to respond to me and only did so when I sent a registered letter.
I was satisfied with work completed. I was disappointed with the expectations, that were set by sales but were not met. I was told they would send a two man crew and complete my work in 1 day, as the work was being completed in my only bathroom. They sent one guy and he barely finished in two days. Also, they did put a hole in my wall while doing work but it was patched before he completed the work. I am planning on hire them again for phase 2 of my project this year.
Contract was signed on 3/3/12 and we were advised to expect the work to start in 6 - 8 weeks and take about 1+ week to be completed.
We paid about 1/3 of the money on 3/3/12. We were coursed into signing a completion certicicate paying them in full on 8/9/12.
Today is 12/5/12 and the work is not completed there is a repair issue that the owner Ken Audette has not corrected and has not even contacted me even though he is aware of the problem.
The work did not begin until June or even contact me to advise of the delay. I initiated calls to the project manager several times.
There were numerous quality issues causing even more delays. IE: Measurements done incorrectly. I have pictures documenting quality issues if needed. However they have been repaired at this time (December)
On 7/3/12 Ken advised that the work would be done in 2-3 weeks. On August 9th the project manager came out insisted that I sign the completion certificate authorizing that they would now be paid in full meaing that the work was completed. I did not want to sign as the shower surround was not installed. I was promised that that was being installed the next day. Again I needed to contact them to say that the shower was not installed they never contacted me.
The shower was not installed as the wrong size had been ordered. I was very upset and contacted the project manager and Ken. Ken who told me that that was the vendors problem and not his. I advised that since he was the one I was paying managing his sub-contrators was his responsibility and I wanted to be contacted with futher updates. Again no one contacted me I needed to call them to get a status update and no one in the office knew anything any time I called so I had to wait for the project manager or Ken to call me back.
It took several more weeks for the correct one to be installed at which time the grout begin to crack and and the tiles to break loose both inside and outside of the surround. Also the metal frame was scratched in several places. I again contacted Ken and he insisted that I send him pictures to prove the damage, which I did. I also advised that the drain seemed spongy when stepped on.
In addition the silicone sealent on the onyz counter top was peeling.
Also the sealant around the baseboard where patching had needed to be done to the wall. Ken said he had contacted his vendor and thought they would be out to fix it. Again I was the one that needed to contact him there was no follow-up on their part.
It took another week or so to get a new frame ordered and installed
On 11/20 their tlle vendor came out to fix the issues with the grout and tile. He also fixed the sealant issues. He documented what both myself and my husband experienced that the drain was indead spongy. Probably because the hole was not cut correctly and there was not a solid surface installed to keep it from moving. He contaced Ken with this information and explained what he had experienced.
As of today 12/5/12 no one has contacted me to fix this error.
I trusted Angie's list when I hired this contractor and several people who are aware of my problems with them are concerned about the reliability of the list.
Please contact me with any questions and again I have pictures documenting the isseus I've detailed. To say that over 9 months for a project that I have had to manage myself and pay this much money for and still not being done.
I have never experienced such a horrific of deal in my life! I also fear retribution for what I am saying as they have not done the repair and they have promised a 1 year repair. I am also concerned that their may be more damage to the tiles in the shower as the surround was very heavy and caused the initial damage.
Response from Luxury Remodeling & Bath
"I am responding to the complaint from our customer in Carver MN complaint date 12/17/12. A number of the items listed in the complaint are not really relevant to what is going on at the moment with this project. This project was completed on 8/10/12, Luxury Remodeling does acknowledge that there were some difficulties getting some of the materials, but all of these items were repaired and the project completed and was paid in full on 8/10/12. On 9/25/12 we received confirmation that this project and all service work had been completed and that the homeowner was now happy with the project. Since that time an addition service item has come up and we are in the process of handling that request. The request can be summarized as follows: 1) On 10/1/12 we were informed of problems with the grout cracking on the tile work we performed, on 10/2/12 Luxury Remodeling informed our customer that the installer who did the work had broken his arm and would be out of service for a few weeks as he was out of state, but if she wanted/needed immediate response, we could send another installer to look at the problem and perform a repair. She informed me that she was willing to wait for Dan to get back to perform the service work, we scheduled the repairs according to their availability as detailed below. On 11/20 Dan went out and finished the service work. Since that time we have been informed of a concern about the pan being "spongy" and cracking grout and a leak from the new crack. Leo our head project manager was out last week to diagnose the problem and we will schedule a service repair to take care of the problem. Tile repair is a tricky thing, when we come into a repair like this there is the possibility that we will be opening a can of worms that might take a little longer to work on than a standard installation. The previous grout might be compromised from the repair and may need to be worked on, we could experience any number of problems that are unrelated to the quality of work we performed or the quality of the materials used on the project. Luxury Remodeling has not and will not ignore our customers requests for service work, however service work does have to be worked into our installers schedule and the time of year might have an impact on the timeliness of the repair (this was around the holidays and that can be a trying time to work somebody into a schedule as all of our installers have family and obligations around that.) I will keep you informed about the resolution as we work to satisfy our customer."

Overall experience was very good. Every worker that came to my house was very good at their job. Great care was taken by them to disturb my home as little as possible. They cleaned up at the end of each day and disposed of all debris which I appreciated.

My only negative criticism is that when the project was delayed by a few weeks due to the cabinet company being behind I felt that I wasn't kept in the loop about the delay. Getting someone to return my phone calls was problematic.
Did a great job. Workers were great and professional.
Need to hire another project manager. They are very busy, and for a good reason, they are good. Problem, was communication. If they would just send a quick email, and say "we need to push the start date", "We will be having so and so come this day and this day" etc...
We had to email(Some times late responses) and do all the calling to find out what was going on. The head guy apologized and told us one of their main workers got hurt. Which we totally understood, but if we didn't call X times we never would have known. For the most part when they said they were coming they showed up on time...few times they did not but did call and tell us. The project manager was just overwhelmed with all the work so they need to look at this issue and fix it. We are not high maintenance, all that was needed was a quick 5 minute email at the beginning of each week to say X will be there on X days and we are doing X work. Communication got better at the end.
We are very happy with their work for the price. They were very accommodating to change etc... We will easily use them again for any bathroom remodeling we ever do.
They did a really good job the way they remodeled the bathroom. The people that came here were friendly and respectful. The contractors they had to hire he came and did a really good job. I found this company on Angie's List. I will use their services in the future.

I contacted a representative to come to the house and provide an estimate for a "facelift" to our small bathroom in a 1950's rambler. Tim arrived at the scheduled time and was informative and professional. He listened to my ideas and provided insight to possible options. A contract was signed. This initial meeting was on Jan. 16, 2012 and Tim said the install would probably be the last week in Feb. This was an acceptable time line. I received a call the last full week in Feb. and the installation was scheduled for Monday Feb. 27, 2012. Marty showed up around 8:15 a.m. on the 27th and stayed until all the work was finished. Marty, Tim, Leo, and Cindy were the three people with whom I had contact and all of them were thoroughly professional. I won't hesitate to use this company again or to recommend them to others. My husband and I are very satisfied with the products, the installation, and the overall customer service.

Linda and Neil Nelson

They were okay. The sales guy was new and told us that we would not have to remove a wall in order to install the tub that we wanted, but the owner came in and looked and said that we would have to remove the wall. They ended up having to have out bathtub custom-made to fit the area, and the whole process took a lot longer thatn originally quoted.
Response from Luxury Remodeling & Bath
"We installed a walk-in tub for this customer, the scope of the project did increase (removing some drywall to allow the tub to get into the space). Even though we did more work then what was included in the contract, we never asked the homeowner to pay additional for the unexpected work. We have used this project as a learning experience for our company, many of the models and style of walk-in tubs we install are being updated on a monthly basis as this is a new product category for many of our vendors, as a result the dimensions listed are often inaccurate. We now receive updates from our vendors when a size chage occurs and this situation no longer occurs. Our company regrets any inconvenience this situation caused to our valued customer. We appreciate the feedback as we are constantly working to improve the level of service we provide to our customers."
