We called Machen for an estimate to tear off our old roof on our house and detached garage. They were very responsive and Jodi even came out on a Saturday to give us an estimate. He was very knowledgeable regarding the materials and products we needed, and we were impressed that he actually climbed the roof to take all of the measurements, where other contractors we had contacted did not. The estimate we received was fair considering that the roof deck would need wrapped and the amount of ice guard we needed. Jodi and his team were on time every day and got right to work. They took their time on the job and were very conscientious about the work performed to ensure it was done correctly. Jodi takes a lot of pride in ensuring the job site remains neat and takes a lot of care to ensure they thoroughly clean up before leaving for the day. We ran into heavy rain halfway through the project and Jodi even came out on the weekend to ensure that the roof was water tight before the rain hit. The new roof looks great and we are very pleased with the end result!

Outstanding from start to finish. Stripped off the old roof, they kept everything picked up as it came off the roof. Put down plywood,drip edge, underlayment, pipe boots, flashing, shingles,and a ridge vent. He had a great team everything was done in timely manner. Nothing left at all to be picked up. Very happy with the work and will be calling them again when I need any work done.

Jodie Machen is an outstanding workman and job manager. Our home is a old steel-baron era mansion from 1929. It needed a new roof and significant association flashing work. Jodie Machen was the perfectionist I was looking for. Not only did he do an immensely careful job, but he was thorough in his communication with me throughout, calling to touch base not just on formal aspects of the job, but also on convenience questions. His personal presence on the job made sure that his standards translated to his work crew, and together they presented a polite and professional group who I felt very happy to have around my little kids. I would unhesitatingly recommend this company! As an aside, Jodie Machen also fixed a difficult plumbing problem for us, so I suppose he would be great for other similar work as well!

I first met Jodie while he was building a large room addition, residing, and re-roofing my brother's house. I was impressed with his knowledge and workmanship. He always strived to keep the customer happy and do the job right, whatever it took. I later hired Jodie to install two different types of laminate flooring in 5 rooms of my house. I couldn't believe it, but he was in and out in 3 days. Everything was perfect.

He was punctual and courteous.  He did not charge to have the door lock cleared, but he will be returning to do an installation. <br />

Not to belabor the point, but Mr Machen is a pro who delivers. His prices are fair, and his work is excellent. You do not have to worry about the quality of the work with Jodie Machen. Highly recommended! <br />

Mr Machen has impressive skill with both removing difficult 1930's steel windows and installing replacement windows. He does an excellent job wrapping the exterior of the window with metal, resulting in a beautiful finished look. He is quite compulsive with insulation and caulking as well. He removed all the old windows and debris and left a clean job site. Couldn't ask for better work. <br />

I found them on Angie’s List. He showed me pictures of everything and what he took out. He showed me the work and it wasn’t like made up or anything. He took pictures before and after on the roof of the part that was rotten and after he redid it. I was happy with him. I looked afterwards and there was no complaint. They did it in a timely manner, like they said they would. There were rain delays and it wasn’t their problem. They never tried to change the price on me. They cleaned up like nails and stuff in the driveway. I checked the driveway and there weren’t any nails or anything. They did a pretty good job. They did fine and it was a good job. I did have other estimates and they were okay. They called and asked if anything was wrong, and it has been a year. They got delayed and the work got a little hurried but it was damp and they couldn’t get to it. They did everything they were going to do. They didn’t try to cover and not replace certain things to make more profit, and I see all new gutters and everything.

Machen Home Improvements did it very, very good. They did a great job. The owner herself come out to the house. <br /> <br /> (UPDATE) <br /> <br /> While the initial service was good. It has been 2 years and my $8000.00 roof is now leaking. I do not want to hire another company to come fix my new roof. They should come back out here and fix the leak in my roof. He acted like it was my fault, like I climbed up there and put the holes in my roof. He kept making excuses about the leaks in my roof. I don';t care about his money, I just want my roof fixed that is all.

We are very pleased with the quality and appearance of the new roof Machen Home Improvements put on our house.  Bad weather prevented the roof being replaced as quickly as it might have been under ideal conditions, however, Jodie and his crew were quick to complete the job once the weather cooperated.  We have no complaints, and highly recommend them to others. <br />

Our home is somewhat different and the job was more involved than either he or we realized at the time, but he was more than able to figure out all the problems and did a much better job than we were even hoping for.  He will be back in the spring for another job for us and also for a job for our son's home.  He and his crew were professional at work and did a very good job.

Jodi was the only contractor to be prompt and detailed with his bid. All others talked vaguely about what they were going to do (maybe to add money later on?) or just didn't come back because maybe it was above their skill level? He was also the only one who could accurately describe the expected water damage and what could happen during the repair process. There were some bumps in the road with a worker of his who did not correctly rebuild some areas. Jodi recognized this before I had to say anything and he promised to make it right. Because of the rework he had to do, it added cost to the job but he did not pass those charges along to me. He stayed at his bid price, cutting into his own profits, and he did everything perfect. I'm not a professional carpenter but I can see good and bad work. Jodi explained everything he was doing and why. He even dealt with a couple of my special requests. He went above and beyond what most contractors would have done. He seems proud of the reputation of his business. The schedule went a bit longer than I would've liked but there some things that were out of our control that just happens when doing repairs like these. When materials were on site, work was done quickly. The special order windows had some issues with Lowes but even they took care of it. <br /> I was nervous hiring a contractor for the first time. I usually do repairs myself but this was a little out of my range. I went to Angie's list to find a reputable contractor because I needed to spend this kind of money once and get it done right. I will definitely hire Machen Home Improvements to do repairs in the future as he has been attentive to everything I have asked. <br />

They were AWESOME!!! they were prompt, courteous, professional, fastidious, & not only would I recommend them to any doing ANY work on their home(inside or out), we plane to use them for ALL future projects on our home.

Jodie and crew started exactly when the contract stated.  The crew began with the roof.  All went well until the weather took a turn and began raining almost daily.  Even fighting the weather,  severe at times,  the crew would stick it out and accomplish the day's goals,  working well into the evening if needed.  They next began with the deck roof and extension,  which went very smooth once the weather cooperated and allowed the guys to do their thing.  Finally the concrete pads were poured( fighting the rain again) and the job was complete.  As the guys packed  up the job site,  Jodie said to let him know if their were any issues or concerns with his work in the future. <br /> After some time had passed,  I just wasn't  completely happy with the smaller of the two concrete pads.  I called Jodie and explained that I wasn't totally happy.  He at that time,  with no hesitation,  apologized and said he would take care of,  at no cost to me,  until I was satisfied.  He had gotten very busy,  but promised to get back to me ASAP.  I let him know that I was good with that,  but wanted it done before the snow started.  He agreed and promised it would be done well before that.  A couple weeks had passed and Jodie called and sent a crew up to break up the pad,  then a day or so later,  they were back to pour the new concrete. <br /> I hope I didn't miss anything and have given a proper recollection of the events.  It was  a pleasure to have Jodie and his crew here on this project and would hire them again with no hesitation. <br /> Kudos to the Machen Home Improvements Crew!!!!!!!! <br />

It all went pretty well.  Need to contact Jodie about drips in corners.  I am sure that he will take care  of it.  He gave me an approximate start and finish dates.  Weather delayed the start by 2  days and yet they finished the job a day early.  Jodie and his crew were  very courteous and the work looks really good. I would not hesitate to hire them again..

They did a nice job. Jody Machen knew what he was doing and was on the job the whole time supervising. He had some guys that were new at roofing and made the job go more slowly than was estimated. Other than that, I was satisfied. <br />

Jodie showed up and started on the day that he said he would. From start to finish everything went very well. Very profession in his work. A couple of days he even stayed over to work into the evening just so the job was done in a timely manner. No complaints about anything from start to finish. Would recommend Jodie for any home improvement project. Jodie is out to please his customers.
