We were just exploring options and they provided the service. If we didn't go with it but then again, there was no issue with the service that was brought at all.

I saw a couple negative reviews of Machiolis Construction and was compelled to offer a very different experience. Our experience with Machiolis has been outstanding in all ways. Pablo previously helped  resolve the mess left by a previous (horrid) contractor who completely botched our kitchen remodel. Every detail was perfect in that earlier job, so we elected to call Pablo again when our upstairs bathroom project announced its urgency by leaking profusely into the downstairs office, collapsing some of the plaster ceiling.  <br /> As with the previous job, Pablo and crew got to know what we were looking for, established a fitting timetable and contract, and scheduled the work. Two things we truly appreciated about Machiolis Construction was that they worked our job EVERY day, not disappearing for long stretches as they hustled between five other job sites. Secondly, they cleaned up meticulously, and kept our house exceptionally clean. They treat your house as a HOME, not a 'job site', which makes it quite easy to live in, despite the unavoidable disruption that remodelling brings.  <br /> As before, the crew was professional, sober, smart, and skilled in their trades. Pablo's team adapted to some devilish project surprises (for example, a previous owner had cut load-bearing joists to jigger-in the plumbing, and we needed to re-joist the entire bathroom floor). Change orders were no hassle, and executed professionally and quickly. The finished product is flawless, and we are delighted.  <br /> As I mentioned in my opening comments, I believe some scheduling hiccups may have plagued Machiolis recently, and earned a couple of Angie's List 'dings'. That's regrettable for a firm as excellent as the one Pablo runs. All businesses go through growing pains, and I hope Machiolis Construction all the best for continued success. When we are ready for our basement finishing project, he'll be who we count on. <br />

Machioli Construction LLC does fabulous work. We've used them before, also, to put stucco on the ceiling in the kitchen. They were incredibly respectful of our time and our space. They were very efficient at getting things done. I was really impressed. Their prices were very competitive. It was very professional.

They did not say that it was impossible. They worked with my husband. I would nominate these guys for your hall of fame. First off, they were willing to discuss the job even though it was smaller and a bit of a challenge. They didn't say that it was impossible. They worked with my husband to come up with a very viable plan. they scheduled it around our availability. Their estimate was very reasonable. It wasn't bargain basement where we knew we weren't gonna get( quality work), right? It was extraordinarily reasonable. What we had them do...we had stairways to the basement that did not function, they were dangerous, they just weren't working for us. So they basically had to rip those out and make a new stairway with a landing and be to code. It was a challenging job. If it was a very easy job, my husband would have done it. Other very well reviewed people on Angies List said either they couldn't do it or that they'd get back to us, but they didn't. I believe it was a very small job. It was just a 5000 dollar job. Whatever the reason, I thought it was bad to be dismissive. We were going to need other work done. These guys worked with him on the design. They set a plan. They set the schedule. It turns out the first day it turned out they couldn't do it. The Ravens had just won the Super Bowl and it was a big todo here and after I thought about it, I decided that was reasonable. They came, they stayed on schedule, and they cleaned it every day. The work had really high standards. I'd say that the work exceeded my expectations. They did some finishing stuff that we didn't even know that we needed. I can't think of anything that I would not give them an A on. The owner is named Paolo Machioli. He has his team that he works with and they aren't sub-contractors, they are just his team. He doesn't take on many projects at a time and that is probably why he is able to be a perfectionist.

In both cases, Pablo, the owner of Machioli construction came to the property and met me to see what I wanted him to do.  The thing I appreciated the most in the case of the stairway job is that he had some great ideas for how to do the project correctly, especially where I wasn't completely sure what to do.  I got a written estimate from Pablo within a few days, and after several revisions to the statement of work to clarify things, I was ready to sign the contract for the work.  A few days later, Pablo and his crew met me in the morning and started the work.  When I came back that night, I was shocked at how much work was done.  All of the rough framing was complete, and plumbing and electrical was roughed in.  The next day, I appreciated when Pablo called to offer to leave the brick exposed (I decided against it because of the amount of restoration needed) and to reuse the 30A electrical outlet from the basement to save some money.  A few days later, he was completely done, with the walls painted, trim up, and plumbing and electrical finished.  Overall, the project went more quickly than promised, and cost less. <br /> For the bath fan project, much of the same was true.  Pablo gave me a written estimate, then a few days later, started with a large crew.  The bath fans were in, and drywall was put back up in a few hours, and the team came back the next day to paint. <br /> In both instances, I was very impressed with how quickly and professionally the work was done, and I couldn't help thinking how long it would have taken me to do what Pablo's crew does even in a day's worth of work. <br />

Outstanding. Machioli's Construction did excellent work in a timely, professional manner. His crew is quiet, conscientious, and thorough. They are so good about daily clean-up of the work site that frequently the only way we could tell they'd been here is that the work had progressed; no tools, clutter or mess left. Their prices are reasonable, and if something goes 'sideways' on a project (which happens...) Pablo will work within reason to make things right, or to negotiate new scope and pricing to resolve whatever changed. I plan to use them again for a fencing project and garage re-model in the near future. <br />

Overall everything went great.  Pablo was very helpful in guiding us through the design phase and was very accommodating when changes to the plan were requested.  Pablo was very easy to work with and his crew was very professional and cleaned up after themselves.  We had a couple of minor issues with some scratches to a wall and light fixture that was damaged, but everything was repaired/replaced at no cost.  I have recommended his services to friends/family and will definitely be using his services for other projects. <br />

Machioli was a good, young man to work with and he had a good crew.  He came out, did the estimate, and supervised the work, but the crew was really good.  They got in and got the job done pretty good, in a timely manner and I didn’t have any complaints.

It went very well, they were great from estimate to completion of job. We covered materials and they did all the labor. Pablo was very helpful with design ideas and very accommodating with changes and schedule issues that came up. All the work was clean, they took great care to ensure they cleaned up after themselves and were a very minimal inconvenience. I am very happy with all the work and the results are great. Would recommend them to anyone interested in any construction work. Will use them again in a few months when we redo our kitchen. <br />

Mr. Machioli spent a lot of time asking questions and listening to what we wanted in a kitchen design.  When he presented the design ideas and sketches it was a very impressive design.  We will be calling him to execute the remodel as soon as we get the financing together. <br />

We started out with a very ambitious plan, and got several quotes.  Pablo was the only one to give an honest assessment of the problems we might encounter, and helped us come up with something more manageable.  During the demolition, it turned out that conditions under all that plaster and old tile were better than expected, and Pablo let us know right away that it would be possible to go with our original idea, which made us very happy!  The work took a while, but it was an extensive job.  Everyone on Pablo's team was very respectful of our house, and they very patiently answered our questions.  In the end, the renovation came out exactly like we dreamed it would!

Pablo and his team are great. They painted out front porch and installed ceiling fans. As well the remodled out downstairs bathroom. Pablo and his team are meticulous. What was most amazing about this job is that I had given them the wrong ceiling fan switch to install. They came back without complaint, reassempled the fans (to put in a remote receiver) and changed out the switch! Without charging me. Amazing. We think Pablo is great and we will hire him again. <br />

It took approximately 4 weeks to complete the job. During that time, everything went smoothly. The crew was polite and unobtrusive. I felt completely comfortable leaving the crew to work in my home while I was away at the office. Pablo called me at each point in project when I needed to make a decision, e.g. framing layout, tile selection, etc <br /> I am extremely pleased with the finished project! I strongly recommend Machioli Construction's services to other home owners. I'd be glad to use them again in the future if another project arises. <br />

When Pablo (the owner) came by for the estimate, I was impressed with his attention to detail and knew that I could trust this company to do a good job. I was not disappointed. They do beautiful work and went the extra mile to make sure a task was done well.  <br /> Pablo is very personable and his team is polite, quiet and hardworking. I'll definitely use them again. <br />

Pablo, Sergio and Jose were all a pleasure to work with-- punctual, polite and very reliable.  The quality of their work is excellent.  I have hired many workers and this group  is, by far, the absolute best.  The work was done on time and very thoroughly and the price was reasonable.  They were very neat and conscientious and also just very, very nice.  Highly recommend.

The job was started on short notice to fit within my busy work schedule. The workman were courteous and respectful to me and my husband.

Machioli construction was great to work with.  From start to finish, Pablo was very receptive to any questions we had and he was always easy to get a hold of.  His guys showed up when he said they would be there, and he finished the project within the timeframe that he estimated it would take to complete.  They did a very good job of being un-obstrusive and cleaning up after themselves.   We were very pleased with the quality of the work that they performed in all aspects of the job.  You could tell that Pablo's first priorty is doing quality work the right way.  We would definitely recommend/use them again.

Like I wrote above, it was smooth sailing all through. They were easy to get in touch with, flexible for my crazy schedule even during the holidays, finished everything beautifully and on time. And they were fun to work with. And my dog liked them, which is really a key for me!

We got 3 or 4 local home repair contractors to estimate the job. Most of the other contractors estimated the job exclusively from the perspective of replacing the whole column, after a very superficial inspection, at costs ranging up to $900 for the job. Mr. Machioli inspected the column carefully and, while he brought up the option of total replacement (at substantial cost), he first pointed out that the column itself was quite sound and only the rotten base needed to be replaced--at a much lower total cost. After a couple of unavoidable delays due to unexpected bad weather, the Machioli crew showed up promptly at the agreed time and replaced the deteriorated base with a new one very quickly and efficiently. They did a great job of matching the rotted portion they replaced with good quality lumber, and not only painted the new portion but repainted the rest of the column to give the whole job a uniform, fresh look. They left the work area super-clean and we are very pleased with the result. Mr. Machioli came by in person to make sure we were satisfied with the work his employees had done.  A "good as new" column for less than half the price of other quotes means a lot to retirees on fixed incomes.

There were a few issues that came up with the layout of the steps. Pablo worked with us to make sure we were satisfied with the final product. He was responsive and in the end we were very pleased with the outcome.

Pablo was great about breaking the job down to the individual cost elements staying on budget. He was flexible when we had changes. He worked very very quickly and when he needed to connect and work with the plumber he did very well. Pablo's strengths are... Cleanliness, pace, attention to detail, and pice. As well, I would say Pablo is a bit of an artist, what I mean is, that if you had a complex job and wanted creative ideas, Pablo is your man. He was great working around our 4 children and dealing with our 200 lb English Mastiff, Henry. We will miss Pablo and his crew (espcially Henry will miss him) and are actively looking for other work for him in our house.

Overall the experience with Machioli was outstanding.  We first contacted them because we were coming off a very bad experience with another contractor. Joyce and Pablo were a complete 180 from that.  Joyce initially came out for the consult, measured, listened to what we wanted and what our budget was.  Then if we wanted to move forward there was a $200 fee for design (which would eventually be carried over in to the cost of the project).  When the first design came back, we had a few tweaks and Joyce was very willing to make changes to accomodate our wants and our budget (less concrete, pea gravel alternative). We loved the tweaked design and the time frame they were willing to complete the work so we moved forward with the contract.  Once the work commenced, the crew was on time, all the time and very professional.  Joyce was there to oversee all of the work and it was a pleasure seeing her there each day just in case we had any questions (when we did have questions or tweaks, they were answered/addressed in a timely manner). They even did extra work with our nieghbor (who was splitting the cost of the shared fence). When Pablo would come by, he would inspect the work that was done and at some times make changes such as when he had the crew rebuild the roof because he wanted more support.  The pictures of our project are on their page here under landscape - please refer to those for the quality of the work (which was excellent). Another item of note is how clean Machioli is throughout the project.  They always clean and debris or trash after every day of work.  It is very important to them.  We highly recommend Machioli Construction for your project and we would use them again for our next one.

<p> I contacted Machioli Construction Company on October 10th via email and received a response within 24 hours. I met with owner Pablo Machioli on the 11th to discuss the project. Pablo arrived on time for our appointment. He emailed the estimate the same day and I signed the contract on the 12th.  Work commenced on the 14th per the contract and was completed on the 28th, again, per the agreement.<br /> <br /> Pablo's crew, Sergio, Adrian and Jose showed up on time each day and worked hard. The first hour of the first day was spent protecting the floors and carpets with paper and plastic coverings. There were no wasted moments. They seemed genuinely concerned that each task was done correctly. They treated the job as if they owned the company. There was one moment when my impression of what was to be done (baseboards) differed from theirs, but it was resolved within minutes after a quick call to Pablo. Pablo's tile men, Roosevelt and Samwell do great work!<br /> <br /> At the end of each day, the crew would ask if everything was okay with the work done so far. Pablo checked in daily to view the work and ask if I was satisfied. Each evening the site was left broom clean and organized.<br /> <br /> Upon completion the crew did a fine cleanup and asked if I had a mop so that they could mop any remaining dust off the floors. Pablo and crew were professional, easier to work with and conscientious. I would use  Machioli Contruction Company again without hesitation. I especially appreciated that any changes to the contract were in writing.</p>  work!
