I am completely satisfied with the service and the turnaround was incredible (1 day), no waiting to get my fireplace up and running. Now I can burn some wood and they gave me a quick lesson on how to burn wood, thanks I needed that lesson.

The work was scheduled promptly and completed in the estimated time. The staff were friendly and performed their job adequately. Not stellar workmanship, but not the most expensive either.

Johnnie Mack is very pleasant, but the work he promised is still incomplete, and he's disappeared with my hefty deposit payment. I have already had to track him down once at the address on his contract, only to have him come to my house the following day, again promising they'd have the work complete within 3 days...two weeks ago! At the same time, he guaranteed me he'd have his cell phone turned back on the next day...no such luck. I am so disappointed that things have to get ugly now.

He installed the caps and went over fire exits with us. He was great about prevention information and was professional and personable throughout. He was very thorough and explained what and why, which was very appreciated and which ones were a waste of money and why. He was good enough we ended up using him to do our gutters as well.

I was very pleased with the work this guy did. My chimney was demolished by a car who crashed into my house and they redid it exactly how it was, preserving the house's original style. They are very responsible and very nice people. If I had to, I would hire them again.

Mr Mack was on time for the initial estimate. He seemingly gave sound advice as to the possible remedies. My repair was scheduled for the next day and was completed. He took pictures on his cell phone showing the completed work. His warranty was if I should have any problem, just call back.

Job 1: They came to asset the cause of the leak & inspected the fireplaces & the interior of the chimney. Chimney was in desperate need of repair. He informed me the fireplaces were satisfactory, but the interior of the chimney was lined w/the wrong material. The lining wasn't in immediate need, scheduled for 2/10 abt 12-1 p.m. The crew came at 12:45 & went straight to work. Johnnie came at 1:15 & stayed until the work was completed, made sure we were satisfied. Job 2: They did it again! A car ran through the retaining wall surrounding my side yd, drove in my yd & hit my brick flower bed, the wall crumbled in 2 places. I called Johnnie Mack for his expert opinion on how to save the brickwork my father did over 50 yrs ago. They were able to use some of the brick to match the existing wall & closely match the wall. Excellent work & THEY HAULED AWAY THE MESS! My father s smiling from heaven. Oscar & Johnnie matched everything to near perfection!

Called at 9 am to get an estimate, arrived the SAME DAY an hour later. Inspected 3 different flues for cleaning and determined that they were in great shape and did not need to be serviced. Installed 3 caps. The whole process took about 4 hours from the initial call to payment. A couple of things worth noting about this company, aside from the quick turn-around on the work. Johhny Mack, the owner's son, is very polite and honest. He probably could have told me my flues needed cleaning and charged me for moving a brush around. I wouldn't have known. The home is a 100 years old and I would have believed him. He also did not have a new cap for one of the smaller flues, but found a slightly used one in his shop and basically installed it at cost. He also reviewed basic fire safety with me, and advised me on several safety issues in my home, not in an attempt to sell me fire extinguishers, just as good advice.

Johnnie Mack and crew came on 2/1 to asset the cause of the leak in my living room. Chimney was in desperate need of repair. Mr. Mack also inspected the fireplaces and the interior of the chimney. He informed me the fireplaces were satisfactory, but the interior of the chimney was lined with the wrong material. The lining was not in immediate need, but was something that should be taken care in the near future. We made arrangements for the chimney repair the following week, but the weather was not cooperating. Mr. Mack called on 2/9 to come on 2/10 between 12-1pm. The crew came at 12:45 and went straight to work. Johnnie came at 1:15 and stayed until the work was completed, made sure we were satisfied with what was done. The project cost was less than the quoted free estimate. We were so impressed with the professionalism of Johnnie and his crew; he offered more suggestions to make this 1929 house efficient. If it wasn't for Angie's list I would have never found such a gem!

I came across Jay's by accident when a neighbor had an emergency (which they tended to at 10:00pm). Jay's son, Johnnie was very courteous when I inquired about services offered. I called them to schedule and they arrived the next day. Due to rain, they had to delay the works but arrived on time of the rescheduled date. Johnnie, Jay and Greg were perhaps some of the best contractors I have dealt with to date. Prices were very good and professionalism and courtesy were even better. Johnnie didn't try to up-sell us on the more expensive damper as they felt the cheaper one was sufficient. Even when I inquired about additional services they recommended that I not spend money unnecessarily! I can't say enough about this small family owned business. No nonsense, great guys!
