Maguire offered the best quote among several different quotes to replace my condo's very old forced hot air furnace and install central air. Andrew completed the work quickly, neatly, and very professionally. He was thoughtful, spotted issues, and solved them without drama. He and Maguire were a pleasure to do business with and I would hire them again in an instant.

After calling a couple of other companies, I called Maguire and was able to speak to a kind dispatcher. My heat wasn't working and she was able to send someone within an hour. Andrew showed up promptly and he was very professional. He was able to figure out problem and replaced my pump, we were done in about an hour and a half. I've already recommended him to my friend and will further use Maguire in the future.

Andrew from Maguire came out and did a great job. He was generous with his knowledge and taught me a few things to help prevent the problem from recurring. Their price was very fair and they were very professional. I will consider them my HVAC go-to company from now on.

A Maguire plumber, Dave, inspected the first toilet, showed me that a rubber gasket was deformed, installed a new gasket and the toilet worked. Dave inspected the second toilet, discovered the bolts holding the tank were loose, tightened the bolts and the toilet tank is now properly fixed to the base. The bill was $230 as agreed in our phone conversation. Maguire Company Inc. is now our plumber of choice.

This exceeded my expectations. The repairman arrived within the hour time frame given. He then looked at the unit in the attic before locating the problem outside. He informed me that he'd located the issue but did not have the replacement part and let me know he would go to the shop and be back in about half an hour and was. He then fixed the issue and notified me that more coolant was needed, but was not pushy in any way. He explained the cost. He also noted that one part was making a noise which indicated it may fail in the next year, but was not push about replacing the part. Was very happy to have everything fixed in one visit the day after I made the call!

After calling at least 20 plumbers, I called Maguire and spoke to a very helpful dispatcher. She was able to send a plumber within a few hours, which was exceptionally responsive. The best part was the plumber she sent - Dave. I was impressed with how professional, logical and smart he was in his search for a shut-off valve. He had to cut some small panels out of a few walls and always asked if it was okay and then he found a discrete spot to cut out the panel. He was careful and systematic and he found the shut-off valve that I never could have found. Moreover, he made helpful recommendations about what I could do about the cast iron pipe that had ruptured. All around great service!

Our furnace died on one of the coldest days of the year. A simple call to Maguire and they were at the house within an hour. They had the furnace running again in the same day. However, if they couldn’t get the part that day they offered to loan us their electric heaters at no cost so our pipes would not freeze. They ended up going out of their way to find the part and our heat was restored! Wonderful customer service and they did a great job. I would recommend them to anyone in the Newton area.

After noticing a steady drip from the ceiling in our basement, my wife called around to find someone to come out and take a look. We called Maguire on Tuesday, and they had an opening on Thursday 12-2pm window to come out to our house. I was home that day, and after confirming our appointment that morning, Mark from Maguire came early(!), much to my surprise and delight. After troubleshooting appliances and the sink area upstairs, not seeing any issues, he cut a small hole in the basement ceiling, and water came pouring out. The water was much more than anticipated. Mark let the water drain, and after cutting a larger section, we found the culprit: The copper hose connected to the downstairs pump was looked to have been previously pinched and gave way, creating the leak in the copper pipe. Mark clamped the hole, and he and I tested the pump. NO ISSUES ! (fingers crossed!) Mark was a professional and a gentlemen. I cannot recommend these folks enough. PUNCTUAL / PROFESSIONAL / GRACIOUS / INFORMATIVE. The price was a little high, but for the courteous service, I'd 100% do it again. Any plumbing needs going forward, I'll definitely be calling Maguire again.

Andrew was terrific. He proceeded very methodically-- he first ruled it out as a zoning issue, then ruled it out as a capacitor issue on the outside unit, and finally correctly diagnosed the issue as a system lock caused by a dirty filter (we have a relatively new A/C system and the dirty filter triggered a freeze protection mechanism; if the air can't be blown out into the house, it's possible for the inside unit to simply freeze with some bad consequences). Andrew also pointed out all the filters I needed to change for my 3 A/C units and cleared our drains/traps. Highly professional and methodical.

They were prompt, very responsive, and gave me a couple of options with different price points. Quality of work was excellent

They double billed for the materials

Maguire is extremely responsive and their technicians do a professional job. I rated them only Fair on price because regardless of what your repair costs they charge a $45 service call fee which is added on. If price is very important I would shop around.

I was charged the minimum hourly rate for about 5 minutes of unscrewing a drain stop in my tub drain, adjusting it, and screwing it back in. I tried to use the remainder of his time for assistance with the two faucet problems, but he said he would need to return again in order to do any work. All he did was offer advice, but still charged the full $180! I did not bother to contest it because it was so outrageous--this company will survive on dishonesty.

Plumber was there early, very nice, explained everything, and replaced a part that wasn't broken yet but would cause problems in the near future. Left the bathroom clean.

It went as expected.

The work went well; the folks were on time and kept us up to date on schedules. The folks that installed the equipment were very professional and did a very good job of cleaning up after the installation. There turned out to be a few technical snags once the install got underway, including some issues with a misbehaving Nest thermostat and a separate venting fan required for our configuration, and the installers were able to work around these challenges and call technical support when they needed help. The job took about 2 1/2 days to complete.

The plumber was clearly overwhelmed by the challenges, repeatedly said, "I don't know what to do;" once asked me to wish him luck. He came up with what he said was a temporary repair and could not guarantee. Not a chance that I will call on them again.

Maguire actually came by within 30 minutes of my call (guess I got lucky with availability of an engineer), and diagnosed the fault to be a tripped circuit breaker to a vent. Not a big problem thankfully, but not one I would have known how to diagnose and fix.

Awesome! Andrew did a great job. Worked around our workers and had the system back up and running the same day .
