Mannco did not do a good job. Did not measure properly for materials. Did not finish the job. Tried to change the quoted price. Did not return calls/texts when we wanted to get job finished.

Ryan misrepresented himself as a carpenter and that he was able to complete a renovation of a cabin. he assured me that he had other trade contacts such a plumber electricians. ryan lied to me on multiple occasions about orders he allegedly placed at home depot. he was unable to complete one task and by the time i realized that i was being taken for a ride i was out of $37000 cash in 9 weeks. he is a complete fraud and made unauthorized purchases on my home depot credit card. i had professional contractors come in to look at his work and they told me he did everything wrong. they informed me to get a lawyer and try to recover some of my life savings. i was a victim to a construction scheme by ryan and his company. pls be aware i don't want ryan and his company to scam other hard working people. if anyone has been a victim to ryan and mannco construction pls try and contact me. all of the negative reviews on angis list are accurate. unfortunately, i gave ryan the benefit of the doubt and became a victim of his scam.

Ryan was always on-time, super responsive, and took on projects that my previous contractor could not do. It's like I've stepped back in time where people take pride in their work. I'm super happy with Mannco and their work is fantastic. I'll definitely be using them again in the future.

This was the worst service i ever received from a contractor in my life. He started a late saying he had issues with his car which delayed my job all together. When he finally began to start the project he increased the project costs by $250 immediately after getting all of his tools in place. Very dishonest and deceiving. When Ryan and his team finally completed the work, it clearly showed that an amateur completed the job with imperfections everywhere on the walls. I would never hire again. Ryan was a terrible worker and was untrustworthy from the beginning to the end.
Response from Mannco Construction
"We’re sorry that you feel displeased with the pricing. Unfortunately, this was the absolute lowest we could do the job for and it barely covered the cost of material. You told me if I didn’t do the job at this low of a price, then I would receive a negative review. Upon agreeing to a start date, you completely ignored me for two weeks before contacting me again and demanding I move my schedule to accommodate your needs, to which I did. Before beginning any work, I informed you that one of your walls was falling down and had to be braced. The cost of materials for this would be an extra $250. I preformed the work free of labor and you were only charged for material. To which you signed for under contract and were fully aware of the pricing before I began any work for you. We were extremely honest with the price and never changed it after you signed a written contract for that agreed upon written price. In addition to bracing your wall with no labor cost, I also fixed up quite a few things for you free of material and labor cost. We do not like to leave a job site if the client isn’t completely satisfied with our work. Your reaction in this review seems conflicting to your response in person. We invite you to reach out if you have any issues with the work that was completed."

I feel badly writing this negative review as I personally like Ryan and hope the best for him. However, things have nosedived over the past two months into a dangerous unprofessional reality that my experience must be shared. The net/net of the takeaway? MannCo is financially challenged and the challenges Ryan faces are managed so poorly that it dramatically effects his business. Specifically, I have a double oven that Ryan and an assistant dropped, shattering the outer glass sheets. After 6 weeks of promises about working with Lowes to get the replacement glass I have come to understand that I have been lied to repeatedly. Ryan has never contacted Lowes. Ryan does not have insurance that properly protects this sort of accident. Ryan can't afford to cover the $ 600 in replacement glass. And I've been told any number of other lies to delay and delay, including today when I was asked to not post a negative post because if the truth was known, MannCo would be removed from Angie's List. As I have replaced Ryan with a new Finish Carpenter, I am learning intimately the number of unacceptable mistakes that were made by Ryan and his assistant[s] that are inappropriate to what Ryan bills and how he sells himself. While the project dragged on unnecessarily, I have been reminded that I was promised 3 workers every day at a rate of $ 150/hour. That seemed more than fair. And within a couple days 3 workers were reduced to 2. And a disagreement insued about how the 2 are more productive than the 3. And that the hourly rate would not be reduced. That was factually incorrect in the follow through. Throughout the weeks that unfolded, Ryan was directly needed by other tradespeople - electrician, plumber, welder, etc - and completely ghosted the other trades resulting in unnecessary delays and additional costs. As I wish Ryan well, at his age and with his experience, he really needs to wrap up his business and spend some years investing in his career with a properly licensed General Contractor, stabilize his financial circumstances, and get clarity on what it means to run your own business. I wish Ryan well. I would strongly advise against hiring him.
Response from Mannco Construction
"Just to clarify. I was paid $[Member Information Removed] per hour for 1-3 guys. My rate is $60 per man hour which hasn’t changed in a year. Working with you was quite difficult to the point where I needed to be paid upfront because it took 4-5 weeks to get paid the first time and I believe I was lied to as well. You waited until Christmas Eve to pay me a large sum of money when I was expecting it four times five weeks prior. Not getting paid for 5 weeks during Christmas is a nightmare for anyone. At $150 an hour for the 160 hours I worked for you... that would be roughly $5000 I’m owed. We went to Lowe’s and due to the fact that you purchased the product 4 years ago....you said you were going to take care of it. There’s no model number on the oven. I was doing everything I could given the current circumstances. Also I never had obligations to meet with other subcontractors, im a carpenter/woodworker and I don’t need to meet with your electricians and plumbers. I did that out of the kindness of my heart. I did a lot for you out of kindness. I really did my best and it’s a shame that this happened like this."

they showed promptly and the roof repair was fine. When it came to the painting we are not pleased at all. first of all i wanted a satin sheen for the ceiling and they bought ceiling paint which is flat for my kitchen, they had started to paint the ceiling so I told them to finish with what they had. when they said they were finished we paid them. a few days later we called them back for touch up, because several areas were completely missed. when he came back to finish he went to home depot and purchased the wrong sheen of paint, so there was a noticeable difference. I had offered to go and get the paint he needed ,said he had to go any ways so he would get it. to Date the touch up is not complete and they did the job in June. we have called to have the job completed and the are not returning our calls anymore. we were told to call any time for touch up.

Ryan did a great job. I was extremely impressed with his professionalism. He showed up on time all three days and was willing to come back to ensure the project was to our liking. His trim work was great around the existing 10' built-ins. Painting was not his strong suit but he took his time to make it right and get a good job at the end of the project. I would consider using his services again.

Ryan is professional, and made our project his priority. He was flexible to accommodate our business hours. I would definitely be calling Ryan again if I run into other handyman projects at the restaurant. Ryan did a complete and satisfactory work.
