Bruce Mantz and his crew can come to my house any time! Punctual. Professional. Meticulous. He didn't start the job when he said they would - he started it a day early which was fantastic!!! If you've ever had a contractor at your house before, you probably know that doesn't happen. At the end of each day they cleaned up the job site and didn't leave us with a mess. We told Bruce that he's the professional and has free reign as far as design went and to what he felt needed to be done...it is not a mistake to tell him that and then just let him do what he does. Now when we have company over there is a "WOW" factor when we show them our backyard - it went from being an eyesore to a work of art. We absolutely love it! He gave a lot of thought to what he was going to do and how he was going to do it. There were a couple of days that they weren't able to work because of heavy rains; because he knew that was a major problem for us, he drove 30 minutes north just to see how the water was flowing through our backyard for himself. When the rain cleared and they started work again, sure enough, he modified what he was doing based on what he saw. To date, we have ZERO problems with heavy rain water in our backyard anymore. Anyhow, in an effort to keep this short, if you want to hire a contractor that loves what he's doing and not just trying to make a buck, you can't go wrong with Mantz's Lawn & Landscaping, LLC.

Bruce was punctual, listened to me and came back with a great proposal. Weather was not a friend but he worked through it. While doing the work, we realized there were some unforeseen issues, which were creatively surmounted. The finished work has won great praise from neighbors and several people have stopped to get contact information. I would have no problems recommending Bruce and company for your job.

Bruce came out to see what we had in mind and he made a plan to redo all our landscaping. He came up with a beautiful design and it was better than I ever expected! So happy with the results.

Bruce and his crew are awesome. Not only did they do the requested work, they did so perfectly. They also went "above and beyond" by mowing the front yard - and by mowing and mulching the leaves in the back yard. The car port, driveway, and front entry steps were immaculate as well; no excess yard debris anywhere to be found. Bruce is professional, personable, follows through well, and is easy-to-work with. Bruce and his crew will be most welcome to return, anytime, for further work and additional projects.

After an initial miscommunication, Bruce (the owner of the business) came for an estimate. It was quite reasonable, so he came back in a couple of days, just as promised, with two other workers. They spent several hours working hard to remove all the leaves from my property (it was somewhat neglected by the previous homeowner), and the result was excellent - clean yard on all sides, piles of dead, wet leaves at the curb. I agreed with Bruce to get back in touch in the spring to discuss regular lawn maintenance.

Bruce and his team were great. Very professional, courteous and prompt. Easy to work with and had great suggestions. Understood clearly what we wanted done and needed to be done. Would hire this company again without a question.

Bruce and his team are great! He came out and spent a good amount of time getting the scope down and got my job on the schedule the next week. He was very receptive about my ideas and knowledgeable about my drainage options. Bruce was also very patient with me as I asked a million questions along the way. After the first day I had some concerns over what had been done and he came out that afternoon to take a look and make sure we were on the same page. The next morning the job was finished just as we had discussed and everything looks and is working great so far. Would hire again and recommend to anyone!

Got done promptly and good

Bruce was very professional in helping us decide what would look nice for the job we were seeking. He listened to our ideas then added what he thought would look good without pressuring us into anything. He was prompt in returning phone calls and starting the job when he said. His workers did not take breaks and worked until the job was complete. We are very happy with the results and would recommend him to others.

We have hired many landscapers through the years. We have not had anyone compare to Mantz's Landscaping. I called for an estimate on Friday and Bruce Mantz came out on Saturday. He text us an estimate on Monday. He was proffesional and very kind. He really listened to our needs and gave us lots of good ideas. He was prompt in starting. He was on the job every day to make sure we were happy and to check on his crew. Speaking of crew, they were wonderful! They were also very professional and kind. We were so pleased with the final project that we had them do two more large areas around our pool. Bruce is a true artist! I had a difficult time visualizing what we needed. Bruce asked if we would trust him. Oh, my!!! Everything far exceeded what we could have ever imagined. I love rocks in landscaping and Bruce really heard that. We now have a bed of rocks formed to look like a waterfall going into the pool area. The entire area is perfect. Bruce is amazing! We have absolutely no complaints. He treats you like a good friend.

This was a very large project. Bruce and his team performed a major renovation of our farm’s landscape. It looks Awesome! They want above and beyond my expectations and Bruce has an unbelievable vision and understanding of the needs and proper location of plants. We hold a camp for special needs children at our farm so we see a lot of visitors. I can’t begin to say how many compliments we receive about the landscaping. In fact, just recently someone relayed they thought the farm looked like it belongs in Better Homes and Garden. Bruce really takes pride in his work, which is hard to find these days. If something is not just right, he makes it right. I highly recommend Mantz’s Landscaping.

Bruce Mantz's guys did a careful mulching job--no trampling of flowers. They accidentally cut a wire while edging, but they told me about it right away, apologized, and promised to make it right. It turned out to be an obsolete line, so no harm done. However, I was impressed with the professional way they handled it.

IMPRESSIVE!!! I contacted Mr. Mantz on 3/30/18 and the project was wrapped up today. Given the prolonged winter weather and this being the start of their busy season, I was quite impressed how quickly the job was done. Once the rain broke long enough for us to meet for an estimate, Bruce suggested a combination of shade loving perennial plants for my side yard and even found a variation of Sweet Gum tree that did not produce the annoying gumballs. The project was wrapped up in a couple hours and he even threw in a few extra plants to balance out the garden since I wasn't sure what outline I wanted. His crew is young, very polite, hard-working, and cleaned up thoroughly. Bruce has a great attitude, is customer satisfaction driven, and it was a pleasure to work with him. I can't wait for all my new beauties to bloom!

Mantz Lawn and Landscaping came out to the house to see what the issues were and discuss how to solve it. I had some ideas, and he was able to explain how my ideas would work or not. Suggestions were given for some areas, such as relocating a shed to another area of the yard to increase the yard space available in a section, and spotting some mold on the northfacing exterior wall that he was able to powerwash. He also helped fix the decking and created some paver areas where kids naturally walk to reduce wear and tear on the garden beds. The work was phenomenal. When we moved in, the moving company all loved and commented on our backyard, and I am so pleased with the front yard's curb appeal. There are a few elements that will have to grow into full completion (i.e. the crepe myrtle tree needs to actually grow from the sapling), and per my request he left space for me to happily add more plants. This was an expensive project because it was a LOT of work - nearly a month's work. But the landscaping really makes the perfect house into the perfect forever home.

Bruce and his guys did a terrific job. My landscaping was overrun with weeds and was too much to keep up with. I wanted to make the bedding areas smaller and I wanted to switch to plants that would need less maintenance. Bruce came out to give an estimate, and he gave me plenty of time to explain what I was trying to achieve. I never felt rushed. He contributed several ideas, pointing out things I hadn't thought about like the sunlight requirement of some of the plants I wanted to incorporate into the landscape. It was a very large job because basically the guys had to remove all of my existing plants, grind stumps where necessary and separate the weeds from the plants I wanted to keep (talk about a time consuming job!). Then they needed to treat the bedding areas to kill the remnants of the existing weeds. After that they planted all my new plants, plus the old ones that I wanted to keep and have moved to other areas. Kyle and Kristian did most of the work, and except for short breaks they worked nonstop. I couldn't believe how much they could get done in a day! Plus, they had a great attitude; they were very polite and helpful. The second day of the job we had 2 days of rain and then the yard needed to dry a day to be workable, and that was the only glitch in the process (and obviously, one out of Mantz landscaping's control.) When the guys came back they got right back to it and transformed my landscaping from a dreary mess to something I'm once again proud of. After they got all the plants in the ground they did a beautiful job of applying the black mulch, which really made the landscaping pop. One thing that really impressed me is that even though he's the owner, when needed Bruce was working right alongside the guys, working hard to make sure that the job would get done when he said it would be done. I was even more impressed when I found out that Bruce (and Kyle) had been working even though they were dealing with a touch of flu. When I had seen Bruce laying down sod I'd had no idea that he was working with a fever--that's dedication! Bruce did many helpful/kind things without charging me extra. When it turned out that the shrubs I was having removed couldn't be pulled but would need to be cut and the stumps ground down, he charged me for the stump grinder rental but not for the extra labor. I had a huge growth of poison ivy that he removed without charging me...same with moving a couple of bushes from the original landscaping to another part of my yard so that I wouldn't lose them. Because I was so impressed with the work that Bruce and his guys did, less than a week later my husband and I decided to hire Mantz lawn and landscaping to remove the bushes in front of our garage as well as at the back of our yard and replace them with grasses. As part of that, a hibiscus was moved from the yard to the side of our shed. Not only did Kyle and Kristian move the hibiscus, Bruce had them weed and mulch the beds on the side and front of the shed, yet he didn't charge extra for doing that. In addition they even weeded my small rose bed and applied the leftover mulch there, another thing that I hadn't paid extra for. I didn't expect extras but I think it's representative of Bruce's attitude toward his customers. He takes pride in his work, and wants his customers to be very happy when the job is done. That carries over into the employees, who have a good attitude and who work hard. When I first saw the listing for Mantz landscaping on Angies List, I wondered whether I could trust the ratings; because they were all positive it almost seemed too good to be true. Having worked with Bruce I can say that our experience was just as good as everybody else's, and we will definitely be using them for any of our future landscaping work.

Excellent result. The company suggestions were terrific. We added some weeping pines, arborvitae trees, grasses, rock, mulch, etc. to create a beautiful site. We even got a handwritten Thank You from the school complementing us on the beautiful result.

The project went great, the crew was here on time, they did everything I wanted in a professional manner, I would recommend them to everyone.

This crew was responsive to my requests, reliable and responsible. It really was a pleasure to have them do this work. Normally I don't let contractors put their advertising signs on my property once they are done (such as a roofing company), but in this case I asked Bruce to bring a sign to me so others could see their name on the front yard project. It really is that nice and I couldn't be happier with my first use of Angie's list. Thank you to those people who wrote up a recommendation that led me to Mantz Lawn and Landscaping.

The job was done quickly, on time and in a professional manner. We even had them come back a week later and take down a very tall pine tree that was encroaching the house. The crew had the tree down and cleaned up in an hour and 1/2.
