It went terribly. He didn't, he didn't work very many, all of the hours that he should have been working. Uh, he extended the pro, the project isn't finished. It was supposed to be finished on February 28th. And it is now May 11th and it's still not finished. He was working for someone else at the same time he's working for us. Because we could hear a lot of fun talking to people. That he was also working with on a different project. Um, we`re over three weeks worth of Excuses, why he even couldn't come. He had to leave early or why did he get there late to the job. And they were all crazy stupid excuses. Substandard multiple excuses for like, either not showing up or showing up late or leaving early. Uh, way over contract, two months or three months over contract uh finished date. Imposing a fasting is money. Basically. Because he's working two jobs. But he wanted to be paid on time . which we did. And he`s still engaged his job . We finally fired him. So were we now spent $11,000 on a project, that`s not even finished and is whole entire price for the famous $12,000 . SO we use that almost all of his money. we have nothing to show for it but we gave him $11,000 of the $12,000and he was charging us for the whole projects.

Horrible quality of work. I could have done better. I was surprised because he was a licensed contractor. He had originally said the work was easy, when he visited. I assumed he'd do quality work. He was friendly, seemed to know what he was doing and the job was pretty straightforward. The mistake I made was to go out of town when the work was being done. The paint job looked like they rushed, ran out of paint and tried to spread it too far. Paint spilled and splattered on patio floor and other areas. Paint was uneven. Some areas still had bare wood (new areas) and in other areas, paint was uneven, not clean and professionally solid color. Looked like my child did the work. They forgot what color to paint eves, just used the color they had for the siding. Paint drip stains were on eves, spills on patio, drips, splatters and a small puddle area.... all not cleaned up and solidified before it was too late. Didn't do more than one coat in the newly built areas, could still see wood, didn't prime, looked like a child did it. Pathway was dangerous, like a kid did it. When I talked with the "apprentice" about it, he looked baffled, saying it looked good to him. I could step on the rocks and loosen them. Not safe. I had to tear up and hire someone else to do correctly. Skylight was put in on the wrong side and wrong location (like he didn't take notes) and it was not the same size as the other one already there. Awnings were horrible and if you look at them from the inside of the house, you see unevenly painted wood (seeing wood in some areas), nails sticking out and other roofing problems a friend pointed out later. They were also 3 times out as far as discussed and measured. I don't believe he took notes on anything. He had his iPad and tape measure when we were talking but I did notice minimal writing. I can't recall if he even calked prior and he didn't seal the areas we discussed previously. He was going to close up some areas exposing garage to light. Light carpentry before calking and painting. Did none. Venting near eves - holes were put in unevenly, looked messy and horrible, forgot to put some in, didn't screen others... Shabby and messy, right at entrance. Had to hire someone to redo. Overall, I was very disappointed, as I had pre-paid him when I was out of town, luckily hadn't paid him all, and he sent pictures to me and I could see right away there were problems. When I asked about them, he said he'd address them or his "apprentice" would. Some neighbors warned me about the shabby job. When I came home about 10 days later, I was completely distraught. I felt I had been cheated, made a fool, taken advantage of because I am a single parent, female.... His apprentice returned upon my request and we walked around but the guy just looked and acted like everything was perfect. Even as I rocked back and forth on the rocks in the rock path (fine for a garden but not an entrance - a hazard for tripping and falling), he looked like it was all acceptable. I pointed out the uneven paint job and the "apprentice" didn't even see it, he said. I believe they thought this would be a good money maker and that they could get the job done quickly and cheap so they rushed, then ran out of paint and money and though they could get away with it. I knew I was going nowhere, so I called him and said he had to finish the job. He then hired a professional, licensed painter contractor company from Eureka to come out. I was nervous that this was a friend of his who might be on his side. I was delighted to see that the person was very professional, stepped into my entrance and with one look, started seeing flaws. He was amazed that Mark Sailors could consider the work complete and in good quality. He walked around the house and saw flaws everywhere. I didn't even have to point them out. At least this made me not feel crazy. He then advised me to either have them finish the work correctly or stop now before they do more bad work and bail out. This is when I said to Mark Sailors that he had to pay me back part of the money I gave him since I'd have to hire people to fix the work and repaint. As I see it, I lost money in this and basically got a priming job on my house, but it's not even smooth or even so it'll even need to be done. The roof of my new patio roof was not even primed fully so that will need to be redone again. I thought maybe this was a fluke mistake and this happened a year ago, but recently, a local community member in my town posted a horrible review of him and shared how bad the work was. This is why I'm posting. I didn't want to be the sole person responsible for his losing work or even his license but now I see he does this with everyone. He does horrible work and they are so surprised, they don't take action, and then he moves on to scam the next customer. I still can't figure out if he is fooling us or himself. Does he think he does good work? And his "apprentice" is a fool as well. They are both con artists.

It looks so beautiful. He really took the time to help me with the planning.

They did an excellent job and actually found the leak that was causing problems. I would highly recommend them and I would definitely hire them again.
