Install went smoothly and very quickly. He was a upfront about possible issues and how they would mitigate them. Since it was a small job, he cut us a deal sourcing pavers leftover from a previous job.

We obtained several opinions and quotes, and decided to go with Mark and his team because they provided several solutions for the issue: 1) Install pipe underground that connected our sump pump output to a pop-up at the bottom of the yard, so that water from the sump pump could no longer saturate the lawn 2) plant topsoil and grass, so that the water had a place to go instead of just washing the mud down the hill, and 3) redo the concrete step at the base of our walkway with a gradient so that water would no longer collect there. All three solutions worked. We have since had two storms and our walkway has remained puddle and mud-free. Furthermore, Mark was very professional. Proactive communication, arrived on-time as expected. Called before he came by. Mark proved to be trustworthy, and followed-through on everything he said he would do. I highly recommend Mark's Lawn & Landscape!

Mark and his crew did a great job adding stone to our long driveway. Mark got the right color and insured that his crew understood what I wanted done. His crew leveled the driveway wonderfully, and overall, I couldn't be happier.

I contacted Mark's Lawn and Landscape in late March 2018 about installing a paver foundation ( 12 by 16) for a shed. I made an appointment for early morning and Mark was right on time traveling from Halethorpe to Laurel. Note that the four other firms I called said that for such a small job there was no need for a site inspection prior to the work starting. Mark quickly gave me an estimate and a time frame for when he could complete the work. For the rest of the day my thought was that maybe I could find a contractor who might do the work for somewhat less money. About three days later Mark's proposal came and the cost to do the work was exactly what he quoted and I knew then that I would give him the job. When Mark and his crew came to do the work he recommended a different location for the foundation than mine and I was pleased after taking his recommendation. Mark's crew did an excellent job installing a perfectly level foundation in a day's time and grading the area around the foundation. I asked Mark to inspect the job after completion and he said he would certainly do this. Yes, this was a small job but I was so pleased with Mark's attentiveness to my needs and requests.

Mark was very easy to deal with and very helpful in the planning process. He took time out before the project to meet me at his supply company to point out what specific materials he would be using since I was having a hard time envisioning the final product. I only had two minor complaints after the work was completed. There were several obvious imperfections and aesthetic issues that could have been avoided with a better attention to detail. I noticed them almost immediately when seeing the finished product which was a bit frustrating. Secondly, even after providing a specific location on my property for his employees to dump excess stone and dirt, I still found spoil piles in multiple locations that were left behind. Two of which were apparently hidden(?!) behind bushes right next to the project. Additionally, I found small items of trash around the job site after the crew left. However, I did enjoy working with Mark and would absolutely do so again. I would though, keep a closer eye on his employees and check their work a little more thoroughly during the job and prior to them leaving.

We were very pleased with the results of our project with Mark's Landscaping to visually enhance a newly constructed pool with landscaping details. Mark's team of three did the entire job in under 2 days. Heavy duty white PVC pipe was run in an L-shape over half the perimeter of the house. Grading helped moved water "downhill". They dug a trench about 60 feet with 3 mini French drains (?) and buried the pipe with outflow at the front edge of my property as it meets the street. Crew was very thorough, neat and professional. Seems to be working fine although no torrential storms to fully test the worst case. Has given me lots of peace of mind. Wish I had a way to keep the leaves from accumulating at the outflow opening though.

Mark's Lawn and Landscaping did a beautiful job removing and old settled concrete walkway from the front of our house and installed a beautiful new paver walkway. They were prompt, showed up on the appointment date on schedule, and completed the job ahead of their original estimate. We are extremely happy with the new walkway and work that Mark and his crew performed, at a very reasonable price. We'll definitely call on Mark's again when it comes time to re-do our back patio.

Mark's office responded to my Sunday email the same day and promptly scheduled an appointment. Mark came out to look at the layout of the backyard and the way water flows through the yard. We discussed solutions for the problem area around the back sliding door and the heat pump unit. I felt that Mark gave the project a lot of consideration and came up with a solution that not only took care of the water drainage problem but was also enhanced the look of the yard.

Excellent. Mark and his crew showed up before the date they were expected to start the work. He did contact us beforehand to make sure that was ok with us. They arrived at 8 am and finished the job in a day and a half. They were excellent and Mark and his crew were nothing but professional. He is a master of his craft and we will use him and his company for more work in the spring.

I had a grading issue in my backyard causing water to run toward my house and into my basement. I called Mark's Lawn & Landscape and he was happy to come take a look to see how he could correct the issue. He came out a few days later, right on schedule, and said he could rectify the issue with no problem. Early the following week, his crew (two really nice guys) came out to properly grade my yard. They even carried it to the front yard to make sure the water didn't come close to my house. They provided the dirt, grass seed and hay for a very reasonable price. I had to work while the work was being done; but later that afternoon, Mark came out and went over the work with me. Their work was tested the very next day. We got a major down pour of rain and my basement remained dry throughout the storm. I'm very happy with the work that they did and I would gladly recommend them to anyone.

We were super pleased! Mark came back several times to help us rework the design to stay within budget. Mark was there every day to supervise the work and authorized several extra things that were not in the original contract at no additional charge. His crew arrived on time and cleaned up afterward. It couldn't have been a better experience!

Mark and his crew did an amazing job. Some highlights: 1) Mark's proposal was the most reasonable of the three we received. 2) Mark provided some design options and suggested we go to the local stone store to be sure we got what we wanted. We appreciated his suggestions as well as his respect for our choices. 3) Mark's crew was always courteous and thorough. They also cleaned up each day and happily hosed down our neighbor's driveway per his request. 4) A few times throughout the process we had new ideas to which Mark provided his advice and updated cost estimates. For an additional $850 we were able to add more value to the final product. All told, Mark and his team built four retaining walls, installed a patio under our deck, installed a landing pad outside our pool (with the extra pavers from the deck project), installed a paver walkway between our under-deck patio and the pool, regraded the yard, seeded and strawed the yard, and replanted some perennials that were displaced in the regrading. 5) Mark always kept us updated on progress - particularly important in this rainy spring.

Contracter did not take me for my word of having a check ready for the initial deposit. Treated the situation very aggressively. With multiple jobs and paying over 12,000.00 and mostly cash. They still decided to beat me up over 60.00 in replacement plants which were covered by warranty per contract for a yr. 2 died in 3 months. After the replacement I continued to water the plants as I did before and they have survived and thrived. After trying to be taken advantage of. I will never use This contractor again.

I don't know any business that operates like that. 2nd, you are giving us this review over 2 plants that died that you tried watering with a lawn sprinkler and the 2 on the ends didn't get water. Mark gave you instructions on how to water which YOU did not follow. 3rd, You did NOT pay for the 2 plants we replaced. It's obvious you have deeper issues. This job was completed May 2016 not June 2017 as you stated and you are just leaving this feedback?? I'd like to know how we tried to take advantage of you. They did a great job. Once the job was completed, Mark charged me less because the scope of work involved was actually smaller than he had predicted. We are very happy with the results. I should add that many companies would not do the work because they stated it was too small of a job or that they did not want to repair another company's poor work. Mark took a look at my patio problem and didn't care that he was fixing up someone else's poor job. He was confident that he could fix it easily and he did. We are very appreciative for his help!

Fantastic!!!! Last summer, Mark put in a gorgeous new paver patio and fire pit in our backyard (which we LOVE), and we added a custom shed as an art studio and laid out a path--but, our efforts were not very professional and we ran out of stones before the studio. The walkway wasn't flat, so it was hazardous to walk on. I had Mark come out to talk to me about redoing it, and his vision was SO much better than mine! (Apparently the stones we used, which were left over from tearing out the original patio, were for walls, not walkways.) Then, I remembered that the front walk was even MORE of a hazard, since there was a 2" drop from the driveway and tree roots had heaved up part of it. I was worried that my 93-year old mother-in-law--or the mail carrier--would trip and hurt themselves. So, we did both. Now the winding back walkway is a beautiful ribbon of horizontal red paver edging with flagstones in the middle and dark grey pebbles in between. It's flat, safe to walk on, and looks like something out of a fairytale. For the front walk, Mark's crew (who always seem to be laughing) pulled up concrete pavers along the entire driveway, broke up the front sidewalk and stoop with sledgehammers, and then miraculously managed to connect the new, basketweave pavers with the previous garden walkways we had done ourselves, AND with the driveway, with no obvious slope. The whole thing is now flat, safe, and looks fantastic. I would hire Mark's company again in a minute if I needed anything else done. Mark is nice, fun to work with, and I'm always amazed at how quickly they can transform a space. A+++++!

They were quick, they came in and they did what they needed to do and got all the, everything leveled and completed fast and then what I didn't like is during the time that they were putting everything together they did actually put the pavers in they didn't make sure that the pavers were leveled they just checked to make sure that the ground was leveled. And because it rained and some other stuff happened between that, that changed and stuff. I didn't like that. <br /> <br /> Their punctual and their workmanship, prepping everything was good but installing everything was bad. The quality of the workmanship was shabby. <br /> <br /> Have the quality assurance or somebody to verify the installation because the owner or the manager didn't actually come around to verify that everything was done after the workers were finished and I had pieces that fell off that I actually they were supposed to be in gator dust which is basically concrete that seals the pavers together, well none of it's sealed together and I had pieces falling off the edgesall the way around so it wasn't done correctly. <br /> <br />

The entire project went very well. The work was performed on time and was quality work. Mark's Lawn and Landscaping was very clear on what the end result would look like, and how the project would unfold. There were no surprises. We had to coordinate other efforts in relation to this work. We chose to have our heat pump removed and re-installed and our exterior sump pump pipe replaced and secured under ground before regrading in those areas occurred. Mark's Lawn and Landscaping worked closely with us to coordinate these efforts so that they did not impact the regrading work. The company also ensured the regrading of the area involving the heat pump would be scheduled so that we would only be without our heat pump for several hours during July's heat spell. We also chose to have our house painted so once again Mark;s Lawn and Landscaping gave us good advice on the timing of that work. We were very satisfied with the entire effort and the company's professionalism and neatness.
