Martin Hardwood Flooring

I called on a Friday and was encouraged when my call was answered. I explained that a wooden support beam had fallen off my staircase and I asked if they did that type of work. I was told to text a picture of the problem. I did not hear back and sent a follow-up text that Monday. The contractor said he had forgotten. Still, the next day, Tuesday, I asked him when he could schedule me and he said he could come by the next day (Wednesday). Once here, he looked at the staircase and said the support beam should be fastened using screws not nails and that he could do that for me. He also said he could add glue to it but that it would be visible and that it would smell for a couple of hours. I said I did not mind if it showed because my basement is unfinished. The problems started when I texted him requesting a receipt for payment of the repair and to let him know that four hours after, the fumes from the glue still smelled very strong. I guess I was naive to think it would really stop smelling after a couple of hours. However, his response included several exclamation marks and I did not get a receipt. The strong smell lasted at least a couple of weeks and there is still a smell. He stopped responding to my requests for a receipt. It has now been three weeks and the check was cashed, but I have no other receipt. Angi has the phone number of a similar business in a neighboring city as a contact for this business, but although that business appears on a popular search site it has no reviews on ANGI. The bank linked a phone number to a business in Pennsylvania. Angi would not help me unless I posted a review. I chose this company, in part, because they were on Angi, but I don’t feel it was a good, safe choice. Caveat emptor, because I truly do not know who I did business with and his lack of professionalism has broken the customer/contractor rapport so I will not rehire him.

The work was perfect. Marcin was punctual, polite, and paid meticulous attention to detail. Work area was well protected and cleaned at the end of each day. Design advice was given (iron vs. wood balusters). I would definitely hire this company again.

Marcin OF Martin Hardwood Flooring did a fantastic job! The floor looks 100% better then when they were first installed. There were spaces between boards, chips where the finish was gone and lots of dents. the wood came with a very high polish which showed the imperfections and Marcin made the wood look fabulous. He finished the work in two days and we decided to let the finish cure an extra night so on the third day his crew came to lift the stove, rerigerator and table back into the kitchen. His price was the best out of four and if you want someone that does a really great job, he is the person to hire. Doorways, cabinets, and counters were all covered with plastic! I could not have asked for more of anything! Padding rugs were even put down for the temporary placement of my stove and refrigerator in my living room.

Martin is awesome! He is excellent at what he does. In my home you can't even tell where he patched, sanded, and stained the existing floor. I will definitely call him when I need more floor work done.

The floors are gorgeous. I wish I had found Martin earlier so that I never had to use the other company. He was prompt, clean, honest and communicated the entire time on any issue that arose.

I was so very pleased with the quality of their work. The workman were considerate of our furniture when they moved the pieces to our screened porch prior to installation of the floor. The craftsmanship of this team is superior. I would recommend them to anyone who is interested in having hardwood floors installed in their home.

They cleaned the floors and waxed them with polyurethane. They were very good. They were excellent. The price was good and reasonable.

My wife and I needed additional railings in our house given recent mobility issues and Martin Hardwood Flooring did an amazing job.  Guests frequently comment how beautiful the railings look and how well it matches previously existing railings.  Martin Hardwood Flooring was first to call to look at the job and first to bid.  The work was begun very soon after we accepted the bid and was completed in a single long day.  The effort, time and craftsmanship was impressive to witness.  In addition, the price was more than fair for the quality supplies and hours worked on our project. <br> <br>We quickly asked Martin Hardwood Flooring to work on a second job, creating smoother transitions between hardwood flooring and tile flooring in our kitchen and bathrooms.  As before, the work was done in a very timely basis with great skill and yielded a beautiful result.  The effort and diligence of the workers was impressive.  The workers were very polite and careful not to make a mess.   <br> <br>I will use Martin Hardwood Flooring for all future projects and want to recommend Martin Hardwood Flooring to everyone with a hardwood flooring house project.  The modifications to our home were very important to my wife and I and we feel so fortunate that the projects were completed with such care and skill. <br> <br>

Martin has done an excellent job installing a hardwood floor in my guest bedroom, he was very efficient , professional and clean. I would highly recommend him, and planning to hire him in future. And most importantly I love the results, the floor looks fantastic .

<br /> The job was fantastically done.   <br /> They worked with us as to when the job would start  and showed up every day, not like some who disappear to start another job. <br /> <br /> The first day plastic was taped up to keep the dust from the rest of the house.  Then they removed the old stairway. <br /> They cut and shimmed the riser to correct inconsistencies that were in some stair heights.   <br /> The old stairs were temporarily replaced to allow us access to 2nd floor after they left. <br /> The knee-wall at the lower six stairs was cut to allow  open ended stairs.  Great choice. ! <br /> Whenever there were choices to be made, they would discuss the options with us and let us know what they thought would look best and generally we agreed.     <br /> The new treads and risers were meticulously cut and installed, the fit was perfect,  It had to be a challenge, because the walls were anything but square.  <br /> The old landing was removed and new red oak flooring was installed.  <br /> Each day when they were finished for the day,  they vacuumed and left the site very clean and picked up.  <br /> After everything was installed it was sanded and cleaned to be stained.  They showed us a sample of the stain and we agreed that was the correct one. <br /> After staining, sanding,  first coat finish, sanding, 2nd coat finish, sanding and finally the final coat of satin finish.  The stairs looked better than we could imagine. <br /> It was a job well done by workman who were precise, patient, and whose attention to detail was impeccable. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />

It went very well! Marcin brought samples to my home on 3 separate occasions and was very patient while I was making my decision. He had the job completed in 4 days. During the time he was there, he left my house in neat condition so that it was still livable. When I arrived home on the 4th day, I was pleasantly surprised to find the job complete and the furniture moved back in place!

He is wonderful to work with.  His final product is very high quality. He is prompt and professional.  His prices are extremely competitive.  He also run to Home Depot for me about 5 times to get the right parts.  He provided me with all the receipts.  I will definitely use him again and again.  I have already hired him to remodel my office.   <br /> My only concern is that he will be too busy with other clients to continue doing work for me.

The owner, Marcin did the estimates and work on all my flooring,  He is a true professional who does outstanding work on time and on budget. aI am 110 % satisfied.  Marcin called the day before to confirm the day and time. He and an assistant  showed-up on time to began the repair.  They worked quickly and efficiently.  Removing the boards and replacing them isn't an easy job it takes skill and knowledge.  Marcin has both and he did a remarkable job for me. I will definitely hire him again for  future projects.  He is Honest and trustworthy.

He came in and assessed the situation very well. He put in a water meter. We had to get our door removed and reinstalled and it was installed and sealed properly (that was done by someone else). They came up with a great idea to put in two rows of ceramic tile by the door. It looks awesome and they did a perfect job. I am very happy with their service and I would definitely recommend them to anyone and use them again.

We first contacted his company and he came out and gave us a quote to replace all of our carpeting 700 sq. ft. They did ALL of the furniture moving!!The install was done in 2 days and looks PERFECT!!!!!!!!We are on the 3rd floor of a condo and he brought all of the material upstairs with no elevator - NO Charge!They work quickly and efficiently.  Definitely Professionals at their Trade!!!Clean up well after they are done.  All garbage disposed of.The overall score I would give these guys is a 10 out of 10. It is Beautiful. The job was done quickly And Perfectly.I would highly recommend these guys to anyone!!!  They are honest and do the complete job from start to finish.
