My name is Brian Kiernan, Certified Professional Home Inspector with Master Home Inspection Professionals, inc. I am a certified New York State home inspector instructor and I currently teach in two home inspection schools. I am OSHA safety and health certified. I have spent years in the construction industry and I have worked on many homes. After seeing home inspection issues that were found (and sometimes unfortunately missed) I spent a great deal of time researching and repairing these issues with my own hands. I take this hands-on experience to each and every home inspection. I believe that a home inspector should not just walk around your home with a clip board, but also work hard and be willing to get dirty to find issues. I take a great deal of pride in every home inspection I perform. I appreciate very much the seriousness of what I do. After all, this is a large purchase, and you want the best home inspection possible - and that is what I strive to provide each and every time! I work diligently to use every bit of my experience to provide you with the best home inspection possible. Brian missed the fact that the water to the residence had been shut off. Brian missed the fact that the water had been shut off because a second-floor hot water heater was failing and leaky, as was the kitchen sink, despite there being obvious signs of previous leaks. When the water to the residence was turned back on, after the closing, the second floor heater failed, flooding the floor and the downstairs bathroom, taking out the light fixture. The kitchen sink leaked on the wood floor. Brian’s failures were costly: I did not have the ability to negotiate with the seller for a better price because Brian did not fully inspect the building, and I am now out the price of a hot water heater as well as all the repairs I will need to make post-closing, post-flood. As of this writing, September 2021, I’ve been washing my dishes in the bathtub for two months, waiting for a plumber who can fix all the various pipes to become available. Brian has never returned a follow-up phone call. I recently learned that he inspected another home on my block and never opened a single window — many of which proved to be painted shut. Without my permission, Brian gave my contact information to a house security specialist. I don’t need an alarm system. Brian does slipshod work.

Well, very punctual and flexible. Delivered report 126 pages long, mostly photos, almost immediately. Thorough and easy to ask questions of. Agent thought he did a good job as well.
