All of our work is performed by and under the supervision of Tom Mastandrea, Owner and master carpenter. We are fully licensed and insured and are in good standing with the Better Business Bureau, as well as south Carolina Licensing Board.

Tom was excellent to work with from start to finish. He was helpful with recommendations and does not take shortcuts. Workmanship, timeliness and follow up was excellent. We had the front porch replaced by a different contractor three years ago which was a disaster and will need serious repairs (if not replaced) soon. No doubt, I'll be calling Tom in the near future to take care of it.

It went exceptional!!! Tom and Cindy worked together in directing the engineering layout, time and materials, and full installation. The job turned out just as quoted and was beautiful. A great company to have your projects done and done right.

Tom did an excellent job from start to finish. He came out and estimated the job for us giving us several options of materials to use. He was on time and kept the jobsite clean. I would recommend Tom for other deck projects and would use him again.

In July 2020, we asked Tom from Mastrand Custom Decks to meet us at our vacation home in Cherry Grove. We had the house for 24 years, and the decks were in serious need of repair. Tom had ideas on how the decks should be completed and drew up the plans. We had several changes during the process, and Tom handled those with patience and a great attitude. Working with Tom was a pleasure from start to finish. Tom offered suggestions we wouldn’t have thought to request. The final product was beautiful and well constructed. I highly recommend Mastrand Custom Decks. The new deck has drastically improved our curb appeal. Thanks Tom.

An all around excellent experience. He started the job on the date promised, showed up bright and early every morning, and completed the job in the promised time frame. Tom is a true craftsman that takes extreme pride in the quality of his work. He personally did all the woodwork with his assistant providing the support necessary to keep the project moving. They cleaned up and stowed all their equipment at the end of each day. We could not be happier with the quality of his work--the finished deck looks outstanding and is something we'll be proud of for years to come.

Tom and his crew were great to work with! They worked through the snow and rain to get my deck done. I had a vision for my deck with a privacy wall and Tom and his crew nailed it! Price point was very reasonable. Tom is very personable and was quick to respond to my phone calls and emails. My backyard was spotless after every time they came. Everything went wonderfully with Tom. He came on time every day and did a beautiful job . He and his helper were very careful to clean up after the job which was important because we have a dog. His helper even moved our deck furniture back for us. I am so happy with my deck that my friends have already had their deck done by him on our recommendation. I wouldn't hesitate to use his company again.

Provided detailed drawing and estimate of his services. Said he would arrive at 7:00 a,m. and was here by 6:45 a.m. everyday. Worked neatly and efficiently with a minimum disruption to our lives. Tom showed up each day nice and early with his men. The removal of the old deck went smoothly. All old material was taken away right away. The deck was framed and designed to lasted a very long time and looks great !! All debris was cleaned up and removed. A great job !!

The contractor did an amazing job. He was on time, kept the job site clean, crew was professional, the deck was better than promised as he did some last minute changes that we requested. Our deck is gorgeous and exactly what we wanted.

Our deck was finished today and I just had to sit down and tell the immediate world how great it turned out.? Tom was an enormous help through the entire process from picking out the material to be used right up to helping to choose the railing and step materials.? He and his helpers started when they said they would start and finished when they said they would finish.? Three deck builders were requested to bid this project; Tom was the one we chose because we believed him to be honest and ethical.? We were not disappointed at all.? From the tear down of the old decking to the building of the new one, not one bit of debris left.? Tom and his crew were pleasant, efficient and most of all, experts in what they did.? Tom never left the work site; he was there from beginning to end.? To say he has our very highest recommendation would be an understatement!

It all went exceeding well. I called and left a message to get an estimate and the call was returned the same day, and an appointment was scheduled for a few days later. Tom came on time and provided me with the estimate later that day. <br>After getting a few other estimates I decided to use Custom decks, as their price was very reasonable compared to other estimates I got, and Tom was very professional and came prepared with a binder of samples to choose from. After a short mix up of losing the original estimate and Tom coming back to re-measure, all went well. From the time I sent the contract back to Tom to the time when the deck was all done was only a couple of weeks. They started on a Monday and were finished by Wednesday. They cleaned everything up and I was left with a beautiful new deck. I am very pleased and would definitely recommend Custom decks to anyone looking to have deck work done.

"First and foremost, this is the first I am hearing of this complaint. I have not received ONE call from [Member Name Removed] to discuss ANY issue with this deck. Not only does this guy live in my neighborhood, but drives by my house and waves a few times per week. So again, I am a little taken aback. I just reviewed the original contract for this deck. As stated by [Member Name Removed], I built a deck at his home in 2004, 12 years ago. I actually built another deck for [Member Name Removed] in 2007. The deck was built exactly to the specifications detailed in the contract. Without having been provided with the opportunity to look at the deck and validate what [Member Name Removed] is alleging, I am really at a loss on how I can remedy the situation. If the deck started to fall apart in 2011, why no contact? Now in 2016, some 5 years later, you make a complaint? You remind me of a guy that goes out to dinner, eats the entire meal and then says...it was no good, I want my money back. This entire complaint is entirely one sided and self serving. Seriously, what happened, did I cut you in line at CVS by accident or something? You should have given me a call [Removed Member Name] or stopped by on one of the many times you drove past my house and waved and we could have discussed it like two grown men. Or you could have told me when I saw you at the Japanese restaurant and spoke for about 15 minutes about a year ago...remember? No mention of a falling down deck anywhere in that conversation either. I would have come right over and screwed the entire deck down FOR FREE, you know that. TOM 631-563-1046"

We cannot recommend Tom more highly. We interviewed five companies and his stood out because of his portfolio and professionalism. We echo other reviewers who appreciated his Old World standards. He is meticulous. Tom was on the job himself, every day, supervising his team and boy were they fast! He and his crew start on time, end on time, and clean up the job site every day. Our job, which even Tom had estimated would take 1 ½-2 weeks, was finished in 8 working days. His price was very fair and worth every penny. We are really pleased with the decks. <br />

Tom, the owner built the deck himself with two other workers, they arrived early each day and the deck was completed in a very reasonable amount of time. <br /> If you want a deck built to terrific standards Tom is the only choice, I met with three other deck builders and what differentiated Tom from the others was his knowledge of good and bad composite decking with a price that was reasonable. <br />

Tom was very easy to work with, easy going, completely understood what I was envisioning, and delighted me with his artistic interpretation of the two, flowerbeds I had ased for. Tom was reliable and always arrived on time, completing the work in less than three days. Additionally, his price quote was the best of three. I'm very pleased and would highly recommend him.
